so my pc is hooked up directly to a fiber optic ont via ethernet. it doesnt seem like there is anyway to port forward or change any settings at all on the ont. id im hooked directly into the ont with no router is all i need to port forward windows firewall? thanks. like and sub guys!

One note: At 2:46 you really skip over the new batch file. You might call attention to that - I know it's provided in the description link but it flashes up for half a second and you really don't say anything like "Okay hnow we're using the additional command from that link I was talking about earlier". Is there a way to set up an autosave function for this? I believe some of the server providers out there have an automatic save feature, so I'm assuming it's just a matter of making a script that enters the /save command through RCON at a set interval or something.

You cant, those are different servers, stay with the co-op world, dedicated server doesn't allow the auto-save function (because they are supposed to be online 24/7). However, you will be starting from scratch pretty often, so dont worry about starting from 0 again.. think this game is like RUST or every other game with WIPE mechanics, its not a MMORPG.

Can I do this on an free AWS EC2 instance? I'm assuming that hosting the server doesn't necessitate having a gpu, so I'd assume this can run on EC2.

Added this to the article linked. There's one command that needs to be added to the arguments, which was added for everyone there -- Also there are known issues from the developers currently with some "200 server limit" or something that is being worked on. This is a known issue :)

Great tutorial, I can run my dedicated server now. However, any solutions with my Packet Loss I/O showing being 0%/1-5%. I think it's what's causing the rubberbanding.

I have the problem where if the server runs for a few hours it shuts down. According to my searches this is because of an overflow issue in the server programming. Is there a way to add timed restarts to this to avoid the issue?

Im using a skynode hosted server because I have a very wack setup for home wifi and I cant port forward. I went and edited that file that has all the info where you can change server name, night cycle times, crafting time, hunger rate etc. unfortunately after editing and applying in the skynode file explorer section thing and running the server none of those changes were ever applied. Any ideas on this? Cant figure it out.

Make sure you edit the real palworldsettings file. Located in palserver>pal>saved>config>windowsserver. The one in the root directory is just a template not the actual settings. Had me confused for quite some time too.

@@rlmast i figured it out, the bat file he's using in the video is different than the one hes using in his written tutorial. You need to use both to follow along, which sucks tbh. BUT its still a great tutorial once you figure that out.

My start.bat file doesn't end with .txt and I'm not sure how to change the file type. Mine is named "start.bat" but it stayed a text document. :/

So I made the server I did all the port forwarding everything else I walked over to the PC where I play my game loaded it up put in the address and got on my server just fine when I log out I can see my server on the list now but when I click on it it tells me timed out the only way I can connect is through the address that's really confusing for people trying to get onto my server by just searching the name any help?

Can this run on a Mac? I have a spare Mac Mini Studio that should be able to run this super easily, and can leave it on 24/7 for our server so my PC doesn't have to run to versions of the game. Would be convenient to be able to do. Also, I'm assuming the PC can never go to sleep while running the server, right? So if I did setup on PC, I would have to leave it running 24/7?
