I have a clone 0111. It has no lettering of any kind anywhere on the watch. It has a Seagull 3600 movement that is keeping +1-2 seconds a day. I could never justify spending the money for a real one, so this is as close as I`m going to get. Wear it every day, and thoroughly enjoy it.
Good info to look out for..I know there are better fakes but one thing fake can’t do is the quick hour hand setting..that’s the first thing I do on a Panerai..
I have an original Luminor Marina Firenze that was given to me by grandfather. I lost the box and certificates years ago. Is there any way to get a recertification on the watch from Panerai?
For fun I got a fake quartz Rolex. Upon close observation you can tell it's a fake however. It fools most people. What's impressive about it is I wear it all the time; not worried if it gets broken or damaged. Its has held up surprisingly well and keeps good time. I had to buy a decent replacement band but that's to be expected with a knock off watch. I have real brand name watches and they are in excellent condition. But then again I almost never wear them. Too worried I will damage them. This is my two bits. There are others who have no problem wearing a $10k watch and letting get destroyed while at work. To each his own. Even though I wear my nice watches everywhere I still take them off during welding or any intense labor.
@Godisknocking Rubbish!! I saw the difference on the very first frame just by the date window. If you think this looks a good fake then you obviously don’t own, or even handled a high end watch.
Good video but........your not comparing a top end replica to genuine. This one is a poor copy. Some of the fakes are so good that Panerai themselves refuse to check them as they have so much difficulty telling real from fake.
I recently acquired a homage panerai Pam390 it's scary identical on the case and dial, you would literally have to open the back to check the movement to realize it's not genuine.....
My post is for pointing out visual differences so one can determine if watch is genuine or a replica quickly. I appreciate the question and although it would be interesting, movement accuracy was not my goal, consequently no chronometer testing was done.
I rather have the replica I did cnc machine work for 20 years the finished product on the replica is actually good when these movements were made by hand I could see the cost justification but today everything is made on CNC lathes and mills both the fake and so called real watch were both made on the same machine using same M codes the difference in the 2 is the end work and grade of steel like 316 or 904 outer wise they are probably the same the difference is in the movement quality
Enough to fool most people . Scary how good some of the other panerai copies I've seen are. Thankfully the Chinese sweatshops can't copy the in house 8 and 10 day movements!
@@jacobygulsten1103 another thing when buying from someone other than the official dealer, you HAVE to see the movement. Whenever I buy a watch online that's what I'm always looking for and if they come up with an excuse on why I can't see it then I won't do business with them
same goes for Rolex and other brands too. There are super replicas of almost any watch these days unless you buy a watch with a certain complication that is very difficult to fake.
Beyond the ethical question. You have to ask are those differences enough to ecstatically justify the price difference. I agree, but we're talking at most a $500 watch versus a $5,000 watch. Is there a 10x difference? How much in fees would you have to pay a real watchmaker to equalize those differences? I doubt you'd have to pay $4,500 in service.
good luck finding a watch maker willing to service a fake watch. And sooner rather than later, you will need a service on a fake watch because they are only made to look the part, not to be robust, long term accurate timepieces
I want to add something, this "replica" is a cheap one $150 tops, VSF makes perfect Panerai replicas and uses original lume etc... they cost +/- $450and have +1/s day on the timegraph. How do i know this ? well i happen to own a few reps and one of them is a ceramic Panerai 438 "Tuttonero" which include a complete cloned movement P9001 with fully working power reserve indicator and real ceramic coating like the original.
@@mrp9498 I know sellers that sell VSF replicas, but for your own safety check out /r/reptime on reddit which is a fora where they provide all the info where to buy and you can also interact with other users and see their purchases. I would also suggest to pay with bitcoin not with paypal or credit card, not only its cheaper but the replica community on reddit is very powerful and they maintain a list of trusted dealers so they have leverage over them also. The bronze one is really nice, but i recently ordered the ceramic 438 "Tuttonero" rep on ceramic bracelet.
Patpong is certainly not the place to find high quality reps. Not unless you can find one of those sellers who call a runner to get the higher grade stuff from some secret location. You won't find them sitting on vendor's tables. Those are for cheap tourists.
That is a poor replica. Look at the date window of both. The fake obviously uses a Seagull 25xx movement. There are super clones out there if you want to spend $400 - $700 on a near exact copy, including a replicated movement inside.
These fakes are so good that decided to buy a fake panerari. I fool every one no one suspects it was a fake. It make me feel good knowing a get the feeling of having an expensive watch and impressing my friends for a cheap price. I got it for only 370 dollar look just like the real thing
@@trbautosource965was close to buying a rep until I seen this comment. Thank you. I’m buying a real one as a milestone gift of my work anniversary, all the years spent should represent real as the years we’re an absolute struggle.
That is without doubt THE worst fake I've ever seen of a Panerai watch. I have a real Rolex DSSD and a 'replica' from a well-known supplier - the replica has the blue dial, and my DSSD was acquired a year after introduction. Unlike the real one, the bracelet on the replica does NOT have a flop-open extension that has to be put back every time I take it off, and the clasp closes fully, without an annoying gap in the fold-over section. The replica and the real watch keep the same time, too. One was over $9000 when new, the other was under six hundred. Visually there is absolutely zero to tell which is which, apart from the crappy bracelet of the genuine article.
It took me about 2 seconds to identify the fake...rotor gave it away. This is a poor quality fake. There fakes which are virtually mirror clones of the genuine panerai's for less than $300.00. I have seen them.
Excellent review. To make a perfect watch you have to put the time and effort in. These poor Chinese people are working like slaves for $2 bucks an hour to make these garbage watches. Cheap metals, sloppy finishing. This watch will last a year if that and be in the garbage.
I've read from multiple sources that China is only about 10% cheaper to produce in than the U.S.. so, I highly doubt most make $2/hour now. Any source on that detail you mention? Not only do they clone watches, they clone everything. IP theft is an issue for literally everything worth money. That's why these things are cheap. Not because they get paid $2/hour. Also, metal is metal, as long as it has the right alloys, it's all "cheap" metal. ......not that I like the watch though lol just saying
Patrick Santos do your own research. The highest minimum wage is $308 per month. You think these Chinese working in boot leg factories are getting paid more than this you are stupid. Metals are not all equal, most of these cheap watches start to rust and corrode quickly.
@@spiros2310 if the metal is mixed with the right alloys, it's all the same. Of course there is different grades of SS. I was just saying in general, if they use 316l, it is the same no matter where it comes from. To be defined as 316l it has to have a certain amount of carbon & chromium & some other alloys I don't remember.. and I just did a quick Google check. I'm still getting a 5-10% difference in manufacturing costs for the US vs China. But I still doubt the largest growing economy is paying such low wages. It's relative anyways, their col is probably way cheaper in dollars vs the yen so that money would go further where they live.... But yeaaaah. I think China is a fascist country anyways so I don't want to defend their products
