The build-up is like the calm before the storm, which turns into a f***** hurricane! Thank you, Paolo, for showing the world that real music still exists! 🙏🏻
Superlatives have been used too often to mean anything now but this....a truly astounding performance from both band and Paolo. This is what live music is all about. Truly brilliant.
Just taking a step back from how epic this track and performance actually is - how bloody good is the production and camera work here? Love those wide shots to show the entire studio appreciating the magic of Paolo. This is what makes Later such a special programme.
I just love how he absolutely loses it for a little while from 3:15 to 4:15. This song is an absolute masterpiece, and this live version here is even better than the album version! I am a longtime fan of Paolo. Yet, I imagine that being a professional musician can take its toll on a person. Therefore I was actually glad when he took a break, because I assumed that he needed it and I hoped that this would be the best for him as a person. Now I am even happier to see that he's back and better than ever. I hope he is doing well.
As a Scotsman.i can honestly say he is the greatest artist that my country has ever produced..he's a genius.Scotland has some amazing singers...He's the BEST.
Recently saw Paulo in Glasgow and he opened with this song. I can't honestly say I knew much about him or his music - bought tickets for my gfs birthday. Most of his songs were knock out but for even the ones I enjoyed less, this man's vocal range coupled with his musicality is so impressive. It was a fantastic show, well recommended.
He's so fluid with his music it's what I love about. Rock, folk, funk, and a bit of pop over the last few albums and none of it seems out of place. Amazing
One can hear a lot of influences, there are all sort of legends in here, but when he really starts to lose it, man oh man, are we lucky to live in this time and place, stupendiously brilliant, from Paolo to the whole band. Remarkable.
Wow he's come a long way from that shy 19 year old that sang crouched over the mic with his eyes closed. I remember Rod Stewart giving him advice about it and saying 'He will get there in the end.' Yes Rod, he's 'Got there' and some! The best singer/songwriter around today, treasure him. Singers like this come along rarely.
Saw Paolo playing this live at Royale in Boston . A true artist it was such a thrill to finally hear him live. And he and the band did not disappoint The show has been the highlight of 2023 so far !
especially at 316 when paulo gets into it and his voice is so strong the lead guitar looks over at him and starts laughing because he knows he a bad ass
@@maybe-xh8il He is a genuinely lovely guy. He makes a point of saying hello to his fans and on the occasions I've been fortunate to record him everyone involved works together as a team. No pressure, a true professional and an exceptional talent too!
@@SleekitWeeBeastie I met him in paisley in a bistro across fa the bull in we sat n chatted about music The Clash n how he was gonna bring out more rockier music well he's pure nailed it here 👌
I can't help myself, I HAVE to watch this at least once a week, as "live" performances go this is up there with the very best, stunning. His transition at 3.16 into full-on Steve Marriott (Small Faces/Humble Pie) is joyous, would love to hear how he sounds on a rock song where he can belt it out from the word go.
Artie I have been coming back to this live masterpiece every second day am still stunned that no one on this corner of youtube has not done a video reaction to this performance simply incredible 👏 🙌
@@speckyhotdog84anderson6 Nice one, a fellow obsessive! I would love to see Brain Squeeze Reactions take this on, Mark's head would wobble off. Could I point you towards another jaw dropper if I may - check out A Whiter Shade Of Pale, Denmark 2006 and yes, I did watch Paolo again whilst replying! Peace n Soul, Mr Fufkin.
this song is like a lovemaking. It starts slowly, then, gradually building up a pace and strength, reaches the climax, where you lose your mind. Then it fades away, leaving everybody happy
This is some tune, it’s climbs then your free falling and finally the chute opens before you hit the ground, I can hear the Bunneymen in this circa heaven up here
