Part 39 of the R8 Rover 216 GTi vlog.
#JenoliteRustConverter
As the trailing arm has been on the car for thirty years, it was dirty, oily, greasy and covered in road dirt. All this needed to be removed before the rust converter was used.
Didn't film the cleaning as you don't need me to tell you how to de-grease car parts. I used engine degreaser, a stiff brush, and some brake cleaner to help shift all last traces of oil and grease because rust converters won't work if the metal isn't clean.
I used Jenolite Rust Converter this time because my usual Vactan supplier was out of stock. Apparently it does the same job as Vactan and it comes in a handy trigger spray so there's no need to decant any into a separate pot for painting. Just spray it on and use a paint brush to work it in.
