This channel is an oasis of serenity. I've made some things from your recipes over the years, but sometimes what you do reminds of some of the best classic movies. They take you somewhere you've never been. This time I'm the guest at Nonna's and Laura's dinner for a beautiful meal. Well done.
I was born in Naples came to the state when I was 3. My mom makes this soup it’s my favorite. I love your channel, my mom turns 91 next month she still makes this soup.
I hope you asked her to teach you how to make it because that recipe is history and tips and tricks she may share in the process are the ones you won't find anywhere else.
I lived in Arco Felice when I was a little girl, this was a weekly meal and one of my favorites! I too love your channel, you make me feel as if I'm still surrounded by all my relatives. Thank you 💗
My family comes from Calabria, and we were raised eating Riso e patate. It is just the best, most delicious comfort food. It’s still my favorite down to this day,
I ordinarily LOVE to cook, it’s my happy place. However I am pregnant and exhausted and haven’t had the energy to put anything substantial together. All I’ve been craving is soup, I even ate Italian wedding soup for about two weeks straight lol, this video makes me want to cry I want this soup so badly but I know I don’t have the energy to make it right now. Saving for the future and maybe our little one will love it just as much as Mia does!
Naples food is absolutely under rated. Campania is my favorite regions to visit in Italy. Can’t wait too get back. I need a new music box from those wonderful woodwork shops in Sorrento. And a pizza
Laura, your Italian potato soup from 9 years ago was one of the very first recipes I made when I started cooking and probably the one that made me fall in love with cooking. This dish is comforting!
I too grew up in this dish but my parents are from Foggia. This was definitely in regular rotation no matter the season, and it still is in my house. My kind of comfort food. YUM.
Hi Laura!!how are you and the family?!?!you always do so much for us,thank you for sharing this recipe,I had company yesterday and I made your sauce with fresh tomatoes 👍👍Thank you
Omg Laura, thank you so much for posting this recipe! This was my absolute favorite dish my Grandma made it for me all the time growing up....can't wait to make it this weekend ❤🇮🇹
Hi Laura when I was young, many moons ago, my mom always made pasta e patate and riso e patate. My family is from Calabria. I haven’t made it in years but I’ve often craved it. Now I have to have it. Mom made it just the same way, rind from the parmeggiano and all. 😊♥️
Oh yes my Mom born and raised in AVELLINO has made this over the overs . Love the way you make it's exactly how my Mom makes it. Love your Napolitano accent it's so beautiful. Thanks for sharing 👍
I was raised as a Calabrese from Calabria this dish was my Dads favourite 🤩 RIP Papa my mom made every Tuesday. Thanks for bringing this dish back brought back some memories 🤗
Hi Laura, thank you for sharing, we’re from Calabria and I remember my mum making this pasta e patate and riso e patate it was one of our favourites, I’ll have to bring it back to the table. Thank You 🙏
It's amazing. Great!!! Sometimes decision should be rated up in terms of importance. One things that you said so true. I love these videos so much, thank you.
There is a small difference, that we Italians do not call this "potato soup", but "Pasta e Patate” (pasta and potatoes), as Laura wrote in the title of the video. :) PS: then when we make “potato soup” (Zuppa di Patate), we make it only with potatoes. Ciao from Italy ! 👋
This dish is a staple in my house in the Fall and Winter. The only thing different is that I will sauté some pancetta or bacon with the celery and onions. It is really delicious, my family is from Napoli and we make pasta with everything you name it!
Hi Laura! I have been learning from you for over 6 years. You have enriched our meals, thank you for that! Question…What recipes do better with pecorino cheese?
@ lnsha Naqvi , my friend, you can go on line to a company called "The Lodge" they sell cast iron pots, skillets, etc...& the pot in this video that you like is a ceramic cast iron pot & they come in different sizes as do the skillets , etc... their quality is outstanding & prices are very reasonable, they deliver to your house. I hope this info helps you out
@@LauraintheKitchen Mrs. Vitale, the lodge does have one very similar ma'am, I would go with the least costly & you have so many posts, I didn't know if you'd have time to answer so I went with what I knew, God bless you & yours
that looks delicious and seems like a great comfort food. I imagine that vegans could easily make it work for them by exchanging the parmesan with some nutritional yeast.
Bravissima !i am napoletana, great job,except...i put fresh Italian parsley instead of basil. I napoli they also put provola, but you can't find it here. Anyway, very good, just like i do it Grazie❤️
