The sign language and text interpreters are legendary. His comedy was so rapid fire, no way I'd be able to basically translate the jokes in real time. It's not like they were on a delay, or captioning a tape. And for them both to hold it together and not be laughing their heads off the whole time is amazing.

There is an episode of Radiolab where they interview one of the interpreters doing a Jeff Ross standup and he all started saying really fucked up things that she would have to sign. Turns out they were signing for one person who was a teenager and the discussion was about whether she should censor it since it was a kid or stay true to the craft and interpret exactly what Jeff was saying. The episode was called “translation”!
All I know is, he'd still do it anyway with no fucks given. Like everyone should. Patrice said it best, '' *the idea of comedy is not everybody should be laughing. It should be about 50 people laughing and 50 people horrified* ''.

Damn what a comedy genius. Completely in whatever moment he finds himself in. Completely on, 100% in control of his voice, and has total command of the energy in the room. Like a gravitational pull, Patrice is immediately the center of attention.
Patrice was hands down one of my favorite comedians. I can only imagine what his material would be like today, he is definitely a legend that passed away too soon.
I used to watch Tough Crowd just to see Patrice talk shit to everyone especially DePalo, those two going at each other was always hilarious. Man you are missed Patrice!!!

This is other-worldly on so many levels. Patrice was nuclear comedy…pink mist left where his audience’s misconceptions about the world used to be. We miss him so much because he was “for our own good”.
Patrice, maybe more than anyone else, had the ability to get the crowd totally warmed up with his first line. He just came out at absolute full tilt. Asking the sign lady to hold his beer... so good.
Thank you!! My co worker thought I was laughing at my food b/c I had my ear buds in & he didn't see the phone next to my plate. He just saw me looking down, crackin up!!! I missed out on Patrice while he was alive.
