Come along with Solitude Mountain Resort Snow Safety as they hike, bomb, and control the avalanche terrain of Fantasy Ridge above Honeycomb Canyon. What many don't realize is that before you can shred The Greatest Snow on Earth ® patrol is up there working hard making it safe for us to ski. Solitude Ski Patrol uses explosives to knock down avalanches in exposed and steep terrain to make conditions on Fantasy Ridge and Honeycomb Canyon safe for skiers and snowboarders.

I hiked the ridge this last March after it dumped 13 inches overnight. Ski patrolling is a job that needs to be taken seriously. I would like to thank all the wonderful people at solitude.

I truly love the video but totally agreed, the music is too loud and over powers the video and is completely annoying. Terrible sound on an otherwise great video.

what a stellar place! Some of the very best resort skiing in Utah for sure. Though I've skied quite a few, there's many lines to scope and ski, and some only possible under absolutely prime conditions. Lone Tree Chute and Shot 22 are among the best. :)

Sadly, I went to ski in Utah in early February 2018. I planned my journey there months before and there was absolutely no snow in the area except on the mountain peaks. But Brighton and Solitude were great places and very underrated. I also went to the much more touristy Park City but it felt way to commercialized. I didn’t try out Snowbird or Alta.

I was heading up hwy 2 on a killer bluebird 14” day to ride Stevens Pass and as I rounded the corner at Tunnel creek I passed a tank heading the opposite direction, we were the only two cars on the road and the first thought that came to me was “what the F is it Armageddon and nobody told me”

Man that bootpack looks so scary. i was able to go out the gad 2 touring gate at snowbird this season and i was able to get an untracked run on tempation chutes. even that hike was kind of scary once on the ridge. there were a few cornices up there and it was starting to heat up.i also found an actual bomb hole from the hwilizer.
