This is one of Patti's greatest performances! Her singing is so effortless. It's like a higher power takes over her vocal chords when she opens her mouth. Absolutely AMAZING!!!!!
Ooohh I love how she combines these two songs, and the performance amazing of course. I just never stop being amazed at those high chest belts and those head notes...she always hits them dead on. What a phenomenal vocalist.

To all you fellow Patti fans...don't we need a compilation of Patti's interpretation of these songs by other artists which she breathes new life into? I would love to see some of these performances available on CD...like this one and for ex., "That's America to Me" in tribute to Sinatra.
She killed it, this reminds me of when she did the tribute to Whitney Houston, The Bodyguard tribute, when Whitney wasn't there, but Cissy Houston was, when Patti LaBelle song I have nothing
I've seen her about 5 times. The absolute BEST. Always give it to her musicians and background singers as well. 😢😢😂❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉 I definitely know the feeling of "nothing going right." Being confined to this wheelchair recently is absolutely breaking me down. 😢😢😢😢❤🎉
There is not much to say when you need some body to be blessed all you have to do is call on Ms. Patti if I passed away i would need her to sing at my funeral she would just make everybody feel so so much better I can listen to her everyday of my life and she will bring the sunshine into my day
This performance is what I needed after a terrible and nasty day. This touched my soul. It actually hit my soul. This is why Patti is my absolute favorite singer of all time and forever more! Damn she can sing like no one else in this galaxy.
One thing that I have noticed is that people complement on how Motown trained their women on how to walk talk and sing with regine, and showmanship. Well Patti wasn't trained or taught she has elegance and that comes from being a real woman. She didn'[t have to sell sex records to make it she did it cause of her talent.
Direfranchement I agree with you so much. Every time she sings someone's song she breathes new life into it. If I was an artist and I heard Patti singing my song I would never sing it again.
Look at what she has on! So elegant! Look at her expressions when she sings, so honest listen to the demand and power she gives you, so honest and listen to the way she pulls you in with every note, only with LOVE!
People forget that Patti can really sing. When you see her on TV and "always" discussing senseless material items, it distracts you from her natural talents. She's really gifted. Most R&B singers can't tie her boot strings. Except Mariah Carey.
Neither of these songs are "so-so". Both are classics in their own right. Patti sang arrangements of them which allowed her to showcase her unique talents, and it was Oh so beautiful, but these songs are timeless. Indeed, their timelessness and quality probably had something to do with her choices.
I love when patti sings for her friends she goes all out as an expression of her love for them. And kills it every time she pushed through that hoarseness and delivered a master class performance as per usual
Patti labelle, that heffa almost made me mess on myself, it's a doggone shame, the way she can just out sing a tornado, you wouldn't have any idea, that it even came over you, just listen to her give a tribute, and you would not be able to hear no wind, the windows breaking or anything, because she takes your concentration, and holds on to it, it's like a great white shark being turn upside down, you just go into this trance, and your brain cannot think of anything else.
If you are comparing this performance to Jahneen Otis' "Lord Lift Us Up Where We Belong," than Patti's performance wins hand down! I listened to Ms. Otis' performance and wasn't at all impressed.
