As someone with PCOS it’s amazing to see such an informative video. I’ve been using Berberine consistently for 4 months now, started training weights regularly & upped the protein and hours of sleep. I’ve not felt this good and energetic in such a long time. Lots of love and support to all my ladies with PCOS -the bursting ovarian cysts are No joke!!
Such a great video Sam! You’re doing lots of amazing things. If anyone reading this also struggles with their blood sugar or struggles with PCOS, incorporating consistent and balanced meals will be really supportive. Doing this habit has not only helped me but my clients have more balanced moods, reduced anxiety, steady energy throughout the day, easier time staying and falling asleep, along with easier cycles.
This video could not have come at a better time! I went to my OBGYN last week and we discussed PCOS. Thanks for sharing your journey! ✨ I’m on the same path with getting healthy and trying to regulate my body!
I had endometriosis and I am also high risk for ovarian cancer so I ended up have a full hysterectomy and the weight is catching up and I’m very depressed about it, but I take my supplements, exercise and eat healthy, I’m trying to just make peace with it and just being healthy instead of trying to be skinny!
Thank you so much for talking about this! I was diagnosed 10 years ago and have struggled to get good information around my PCOS. Tried every diet out there and still struggle to manage symptoms. I happened to move to Fort Lauderdale the same year you did, and now I’m learning more about this with you. You’ve really just been a life guide for me the last few years! Thank you for sharing healthy advice! ❤
I have been battling PCOS for 20 years. I do cinnamon, tumeric, pre, and probotics as well as Berberine at night. I am insulin insensitive , so Berberine has not only helped with weight loss, but it also helps lower bad cholesterol and A1C. I have been on it for 3 months and have lost 30 lbs. In my blood work, I was low in progesterone. I would definitely check with your doctor before just taking it. Wonderful video ❤
If you keep your total carbohydrate intake below 20g/day you will reverse the underlying cause of PCOS and reverse your symptoms in about one year. If you are on medications that alter hormones, the effectiveness of this diet will be impacted. I am happy to explain more, answer questions, or address concerns. Peace and love.
I’ve found out about PCOS last month and I knew I had it also!so helpful and if you can start series with PCOS for lifestyle changes- routines , recipies it would be very helpful ❤thank you for being honest and helpful❤
This is so interesting to me. When you mentioned hormone imbalance I thought you had pcos but did not want to disclose. I’m glad you were able to find answers. It can be so frustrating not knowing what is going on with your body. I was diagnosed a few years back and your content inspired and helped me with my diet/ lifestyle changes. Thank you
@@SamOzkural yes and treatment options is a whole other conversation to mask the issue smh. Offering Birth control & insulin injections I’m Thankful I got other opinions
Woot woot! Yesss prioritizing protein, strength training, and ovasitol will definitely support metabolic health thus will be beneficial for those who struggle with symptoms of PCOS.
Finally got a chance to sit down and watch this! I’ve been anxiously waiting! Thank you so much for sharing your tips. It’s great to know I’m not alone
Was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 16, am now 28 and best thing that worked for me was keto/carnivore I got my period back lost 93 pounds and all my symptoms disappeared! But I do notice flare ups depending what I include if it is high carb or inflammatory. Great info, good luck to you! PCOS is no easy feat.
You can also have a combination of types of PCOS. I used to have the insulin type. but have since fixed that but now I mainly have the adrenal type which is from stress!!
I take magnesium at night and potassium during the day. It’s also important to get enough vitamin D and K2 with your magnesium bc they work together. You can get K2 naturally in eggs, so 1 egg a day is enough to count as a whole vitamin for the day. I will also mention green tea helps with bloating if you use it everyday. Thanks though I learned a lot from this video. Keep going strong girly 🤍🦋
This! I think I’ve had pcos my whole life. I thought I had appendicitis when I was 14 right when I got my period and they saw nothing, but I was in so much pain! And I’ve had a proven 5cm cyst by drs and then a cyst burst after I had my first daughter. I always have it on my right ovary. It’s definitely from birth control as well even tho that’s what regular doctors prescribed as the only treatment of cysts. When I was pregnant I had no issues but I know I have cysts because I can FEEL them. It sucks! And now thinking about it I’ve almost always had PCOS belly. This was long but just to say thanks for posting and I’m looking forward to trying these tips!!!! 💜💜💜💜
thank you so much for sharing. I have PCOS too and even with as much as I know now I'm always learning more. Definitely share more as you learn more and what helps you with having regular cycles. I haven't ovulated since having my son in 2019 so I definitely know the struggle. And I'm a health coach now so wanting to help others with hormonal struggles.

@@Hertz2laugh That is not something you should be suggesting to people. Carbs aren't the enemy here. Its about being intentional with them and utilizing them around activity and/or balancing them with more protein and fiber-filled meals. In most people's case, it is too much of a stressor on the body and can actually make things worse. Every body is different and sometimes takes different approaches from person to person. Also, gut health is really important and going too low carb is not great for gut diversity which is something people with PCOS lack so low carb would not be helpful in this since you cut out a lot of fiber when only on 20g of carbs a day. If you have questions about anything let me know. Not attacking here. Just wanted to give you my perspective after dealing with this the last decade or so.
@@91adriennemarie _That is not something you should be suggesting to people._ Who are you to say this? _Carbs aren't the enemy here._ Never said they were. Its about being intentional with them and utilizing them around activity and/or balancing them with more protein and fiber-filled meals. Restricting carbs to below 20g/day is “being intentional with them.” Never said people shouldn’t balance carbs with protein or fiber-filled meals. _In most people's case, it is too much of a stressor on the body and can actually make things worse._ What is your evidence for this? I’m part of a low-carb community of over 10,000 people and none of the people involved have reported any symptoms becoming worse. If what you claim is true, I would have heard at least one case of this out of the 10,000+ people. _Every body is different and sometimes takes different approaches from person to person._ The only people for whom this approach will not work as effectively described are: ■ People suffering from CIRS (mold exposure) ■ People on hormone altering medications Aside from that, the diet is effective. _Also, gut health is really important and going too low carb is not great for gut diversity which is something people with PCOS lack so low carb would not be helpful in this since you cut out a lot of fiber when only on 20g of carbs a day._ Fiber is not necessary for gut health. Gut diversity for its own sake isn’t important. If you eat fiber, microbes that eat fiber will increase. If you don’t, they won’t. All nutrition provided by fiber is also found in meat.
@@Hertz2laugh I will kindly disagree. I have my own experience in this area and have education and studies to back me up on this. Most people do not last on low carb diets so I disagree in many ways plus there is also many people with thyroid issues on top of PCOS, and carbs are essential for the conversion to those hormones. 20g of carbs is extremely low so thats really cutting out a lot of things to get that low. Also, women have hormonal fluctuations throughout the month so we shouldn't be going so low carb in other phases such as our luteal phase or menstrual phase. I'm just speaking from my experience. It's okay if you don't agree with me even with the number of people you are stating this works for.

The process is called “gluconeogenesis” - the body converts protein into carbohydrates on demand. As long as a human is eating protein, they will make whatever carbs they need. You basically cannot be low on carbohydrates unless you are a Type I diabetic, are taking medications, or are suffering from some acute serious illness. _Also, women have hormonal fluctuations throughout the month so we shouldn't be going so low carb in other phases such as our luteal phase or menstrual phase._ Why not?
This is so helpful!! That’s literally me! I recently got an Oura ring and I’ve been using it for 3 and months and it works! It tells me when I’m going to have my cycle by my body basal temperature! Thank you for your tips!❤
All this time I was probably having the same issue like you 😊I always crave sweets but never went to the doctor to let them know why and me too always irregular with my periods but didn’t think to much of it but now I know the bottom truth to the human body
So I have PCOS and some things you say in here are accurate, but somethings are not. First of all a low carb diet is not recommended for PCOS. You can lower your carbs but you are not supposed to go completely low carb. Also, I think you were confusing peppermint tea with spearmint tea, since there is actual data that spearmint tea Can reduce testosterone. Lastly, I just want to give some advice to any girls struggling with PCOS. I myself have lost 50 pounds and I did not cut out gluten or dairy so don’t feel like you have to to be healthier. In fact, I am so much healthier now that my periods are regular and I got pregnant within two months. What has helped me is lifting light weights, walking after meals, eating higher protein and fiber foods, and supplementing using ovasitol and magnesium. Also zinc helps if you are having hiritism. You got this ladies and please don’t feel the need to cut out gluten and dairy unless you absolutely want to because that is not necessary. Just focus on the basics like stress relief, exercise and eating well. You got this.💜
As you’re describing your symptoms (especially the relentless sugar cravings, feeling cranky), I’m wondering if blood sugar dysregulation or some insulin resistance is happening. Some of the main drivers of PCOS include insulin resistance, gut inflammation, and high stress/poor adrenal function.
I've heard ovasitol is good for pcos for insulin resistance, also chromium picolinate (made this comment before I got further into video where you talk about it).and do agree, don't take myo inositol if not needed. I tried it and yeah, made periods worse and other side effects.
Thanks so much for this! I have the same symptoms. My doctor said my bloods are normal but I did a DUTCH hormone test which indicated I have PCOS. Trying to help the symptoms now myself with a naturopath
Period tracking app that is. I have very long cycles after having my 2nd daughter (40-60 days) and I also have the same belly symptoms you mention, as well as cravings. I have been using the app Flo (the free version) but I am not obsessed with it.
Hiya Sam.. You've helped me so much since I found your channel and I hope I can show my gratitude by introducing you to a biochemist called Jessie Inchauspe.. She is also here on RU-vid and has a great way to reduce the impact of glucose on our bodies. It's called the glucose goddess method. It's just 10 rules to follow. Please check her channel out. She also has a book if you're interested.
Did they do the main 6 thyroid tests which include antibodies? Or only TSH?! Because have to check them all 👍 and everyone’s diff. So the range conventional go by is little diff from holistic. Wanna go by holistic of course 👍
❤Love your content always. ✨I follow several people who had PCOS and reversed it with animal based- carnivore diet. (Steak and Butter gal she’s on RU-vid too.)
These are the main tests you want to look at: • Fasting insulin • Triglycerides Other important tests: • HDL • HBA1C • Fasting glucose • C-reactive protein If fasting insulin is over 5 uIU/ml and triglycerides are over 100 mg/dL, then you have the underlying conditions for PCOS. In other words, the earliest warnings that you are on a path towards PCOS are high insulin and triglycerides. You will see that years before you see hormone imbalances. So, testing hormones can often show "normal" even though you are heading towards PCOS. I can go into more detail if you are interested.
@@caseythompson1515 All doctors. These are very basic tests. You can order them for yourself too. There are services that allow you to *_Own Youe Labs_* (
@@caseythompson1515 Any doctor will do those tests because they are super-basic. You will just need to convince them them that you need to take the tests. If they are pushing back or wanting to know why you think you need them, tell them that you have recently started feeling unusually sleepy after you eat carbs. Don't let them push you into taking a fasting glucose test. It is common for doctors to do this, but the results aren't as useful as insulin and trigs.
I have cysts on my ovaries but my doctor told me because my period is regular that I don't have PCOS.. but I've definitely been having a hard time getting pregnant :/
@SamOzkural awh thanks for replying girl, I definitely look up to you and admire your vulnerability online! I will definitely get another opinion since hormones are not something to play around with ❤️
@@kaailyntaylorit’s so hard when you feel like something is up. It’s probably different in US but in AUS you have to have two out of three of the criteria which were from memory (and very poorly explained): - irregular cycle - ultrasound confirmation - symptoms of pcos like acne, excessive hair on body, hair loss, hormone testing consistent with PCOS etc. I’m 32 and just got diagnosed last year. Had been speaking to my GP for ages but it was my obgyn who followed it up and found it. Sometimes it takes someone different to see things in a different light. Hope everything works out ❤
@ashhhh4975 I'm in Canada, and I think it's the same! I only have the ultrasound confirmation and recently have been losing my hair more! She said my blood work was fine, just low iron, so idk.. I definitely need to find another opinion though. Thanks for being open ❤️
