Pentair Solar Touch Disable and Enable

Compare the solar touch temp with a pool thermometer ... if its within 2 degrees or so then solar souch is correct .. if its off more than that sensor may need replacing

For first fewe minutes .. you will have lots of bubbles as air is pushed out of solar panels ... then the bubbles should subside.. If still lots bubbles then there is an air leak somewhere .. usually the clorinator .. or pool water level too low ... could also be pool suction line.. As for temperature , all depends on local temperature ...solar adds about 10 degrees .. for 103 degrees means it would have to be in the outside temp in 90's.. 103 is hot! most people in FL keep pool 82-85 degrees You can add another 10 degrees by using a cover .. also this cover will be less water evaporation. Lastly, to make sure you have enough solar panel sq ft ... it you want that hot you need at least 100 % surface area of pool to solar panels .. meaning if you have 1000 sq ft pool surface area .. need 1000 sq solar panels .. also roof direction makes difference South --most sun most heat .. East and west can be used less sun will need more solar panels

If your in freezing climate I recommend draining solar system,,, freezing water can damage solar panels .. then yes close valves to/from solar

there is a toggle switch on bottom of actautor --the valve motor , switch that to move valve manually

If getting power, but display not showing anything .... Sometimes string sunlight makes display difficult to read ... so in case Siolar Touch is in sun.. particularly south wall .. .. try reading diplay in morning or dusk .... If you still cannot read display it might be a bad display... Pentair has 1 yr warranty if homeowner installed, 3 yrs if installed by a professional .. solar , electric , or pool company ... so you might try a warranty claim if stull under this time period .. thanks for watching!

If green light stays solid then solar edge is producing electric If can’t see anything in display with solid green you might have a bad display I suggest calling your solar installer or solar edge

Hmmm … try another way press menu 3 seconds , will be in advanced mode , use down arrow select “heating “ enter , then select enable

@@solarbygreengreg by turning the heating on will it kick on the cooling as well do you think? One thing I did notice, on the actuator the switch was set to 'ON2' and the actuator was pointing to the right side. When I set it to 'ON1' the actuator went to pointing to the left side. My actuator is on the side of the house with the pipes running up to the solar panels or down toward the pool pump.

@@rickyray2794 Solar Touch can be set to heating OR Coolling so when want to cool pool will need to go in advanced menu and turn on cooling .. and run pump at night to cool pool. Red means problem with sensor ....It's likely a wire connection to roof sensor.. the sensor has 6" wire that is connected to longer wire going to solar touch check this connection. If not this check other sensor wire going to pipe that is water sensor
