Percival - Naranca 

This is a Croatian folk song, Percival did not steal it from anybody.

When I was young, during camp, we were left to wonder through a water citadel like city (Dubrovnik like, not sure if it was precisely that though?) in Croatia. I was with a friend. We wondered through the lit streets until we ran into some of our tutors who were having some wine in a tavern - it was literally a tavern in stone, half under the ground, with men singing in Croatian, accompanying themselves with guitars. They were just buddies singing, not interprets hired by the tavern or smth. It was magical. Our tutors were having red wine in shot-like glasses, with local made cheese and bread. The air smelled like the sea and the light was coming mostly from candles. That memory has stayed with me to this day - and hearing this song brings back some of the magic of that night.

This song is on Central-čakavian ikavian dialect of Čakavian language which is spoken in areas around the city of Rijeka known as Kvarner region. Where I live people speak Northernčakavian ekavian dialect, but I also understand Central-čakavian. the instruments are absolutely perfect in this version, but what i love is the "aj! Jo-di-lo-lej! Ta-ra-lo-di-lo-di-le-ej" part that girls sing in the croatian version

BOH DAJ SREĆI I ZDRAVJA SIN JUDIMI DOBRE VOJI!! Lipo je naslišat pisme ke su se vavek kantale va našen kraju. A još je i lipše videt kako i slavenska bratja od sagdere ne pušćaju zajik i užancu od starina da se zatare. Čuda judi va komentarimi kuntreštra i poveda od nesuglasica ali ne triba tako pensati. Pozabimo na politiku i se ča nas je svadilo i dililo krez vikove. Si smo mi jedan rod, vrime je da gjedamo naprid! krepat ma ne molat, slava i blagoslovi z lipe Dalmacije!!

Ovo smo pjevali na kraju 4. Razreda osnovne... Ja tad pojma nisan ima da uva pjesma slavi slavenski rod... Pozdrav iz Istre, mi i dan danas koristimo puno staro - slavenskih besida u našen govoru.

Vrlo dobro izvedena narodna pesma, obično nisam po ovim folklornim pesama, ali Percival ubili sa prepevom. Moćno!
