I heard a theory that the reason Sally was in the rain is because rain is technically seawater and she was trying to feel connected to Poseidon since she was planning on telling Percy he’s Percy’s father. Can’t explain the song choice tho.

I also loved the fore shadowing when Sally said not all heroes are heroes and not all monsters are monsters *cough Luke cough*

The first appearence of mitomagic was in the titan's curse. You are right cause Nico di Angelo played it for the first time in that book. Also it is the main reason Bianca di Angelo died. She wanted to get an action figure of it for her brother.

The "your father is Poseidon" thing is an issue I have with the books too, because at first it seems no one knows which god and bla bla but the more you read the sequels, the more you realize that well...Sally knew who it was kkkkkk

I don’t know if you watched with subtitles, but with the friend that Luke has in Hermes Cabin, the subtitles name him as Chris Rodriguez. One of the demigods that joined Luke in the books. But I overall I enjoyed the two episodes. There’s stuff to be improved but I’m still excited for the next episode.

I love episode 2 finally getting to see annabeth. I’ve seen so many people hating it when we only seen 2 episodes. We book readers of Percy Jackson the series got to remember that not everything is going to be accurate and is going to be in the show. That happens to any book that turns into a movie or show. We should be grateful of this show being more accurate than the movies. The only thing I could be complain about it is Gabe not being as bad as he usually would be. Can’t wait for episode 3.

The only nitpick I truly have, other than the implications of Gabe not being as shitty, is how the show sort feels like its speed running the main story beats. The characters get great dialogue but the episodes are so short and it pacing to be a shorter show with single digit episodes, so I worry about how jumpy the story will feel

I feel like if this show does well in its first season the other seasons may get a bigger budget and more time. But with the track that Disney is on right now, they wanted to take their time and hedge their bets especially because fox which is owned by Disney now already tried this and they made some mistakes. But at least they learned some lessons from that movie. Also Gabe was too chill for my liking.

People complained a lot about Annabeth actress, but the main culprit to cut her off the scenes is the director. Where is she nursering Percy and talking to him, and even sharing some company? Her intro was stoic... And about Luke? Where's the charismatic, smart, popular guy? This character representation could not even managed a smile! And about Gabe? What was that?! THis is "by the book"? I dont think so.... Such a pity! Percy, Mr D, Sally and Clarice actors did very well. I don't blame the others cause probably it was a bad direction or bad screenplay...

The only real complaint i have is that they didn't have the 3 fates and the socks of death. I mean I get why they have to cut other scenes but this is an important plot point in later books. Also the pacing did feel kind of off. I reckon they could have had more scenes at chb. Also I love luke! The 'she's my sister and i'll always be on her side' bit was really good. I do hope the action gets better because like you said, it was a bit underwhelming

Kind of sad that the quest is happening already. There were a ton of side characters from the camp that I feel like didn't get enough time in the books. But with Chris Rodriguez being confirmed I still have hope.

Was the Minotaur wearing boxer shorts? I don't remember if it was in the lightning thief, but I remember a inner comment from Percy in the last Olympian of Percy impressed to see the Minotaur in full armor and asking himself if when he was chased when he was 12 he was pushed out of bed to chase him and that's why he was not in full gear at the time. Maybe it was a nod to that.

I loved the eps! The only thing I'm a little worried about is gabe not being quite as much of a dirtbag just because I want him to have the fate he had in the books and not feel bad about it. Also like and hate they made Sally into less of a battered wife. It's great to see her being so awesome even against Gabe, but will miss the character development she goes through in the books. In the books she was so smart and tough, but had been downtrodden pretty much all her life since her parents died. She was a bit mentally fragile and was a victim. I loved the bit at the end of the first book where Percy now a hero, helps Sally make that first big step into becoming her own hero and saving herself, instead of treating her like a damsel in the myths and saving her himself. Kind of wonder how they're going to deal with the whole Gabe thing now.

My parents started watching the TV show with me and they haven't read the books. My mom didn't like the episode titles. She saw what the first one was and said "OMG are you sure this is for your age ? They're murdering math teachers !". Resisting the urge to give them spoilers

I really liked the adaptation, and I loved the Percy and Grover dynamic. And when annabeth appeared in the second episode… perfection. Walker, Aryan and Grover are really talented, even tho some scenes were a bit underwhelming. Pretty good so far I’m looking a lot forward to the next episodes, I NEED more OG trio moments

I do wonder that, if they changed the whole Gabe being unemployed plot line in order to include Percy’s great revenge plot at the end, if they’ll have him be given the job at the electronics store during the period of sympathy he gets from the media because they all believe that he’s grieving the loss of his wife at the hands of his “murderous stepson”. They’ll give him a job where he’ll have to answer the phone, deal with all those affairs, and it’ll be reported on, so that way, Percy hears about him getting the job, and can still go through with his revenge plot.

I’m like pretty sure Beckondorf was in Episode 2, the dude in the headband during capture the flag

The real problem was that it was only 38 minutes for the first and about 40 for the second episode. It was too rushed and not given enough time. For that much info, they needed at least 20 to 30 more minutes on at least the first one.

BTW,that friend of Luke's was confirmed to be Chris 🛐 Selena & Charlie are supposed to be important characters later on so i don't think casting them right now would been a good choice,still waiting to see them & the Stoll brothers atleast absolutely loved this epiosde Walker is literally Percy i cant even- his chemistry with both Aryan & Virginia is insanely good (need more of Sally,maybe some flashbacks) im in love with dior & charles 😭 I wish the second episode was longer so we'd get the entire council scene but it is what it is

About Sally sitting in the rain: first of why would anyone not want to sit in the rain?! Have you been in the rain, cause it is one of the best feelings ever. Also, as with a lot of other domains in Greek mythology, storms/rain fall under multiple gods, including Poseidon, showing her (and Percy’s) connection to the God of Seas. I like the fight with Percy 1v3 with Clarissa and her lackey’s, I thought it did a good job showing his inherent proficiency at swordplay, while showing he is untrained. Outside of that, the fights so far are no shorter than they are in the book, Percy takes out Alecto in one swing, the Minotaur fight is pretty short too. It definitely felt a little rushed, but overall doing a very good job.

I think methyl magic was in the book, and yes, their narration stayed. Man! The soundtrack for the episodes was very very good, so thank you for sharing this video, and thank Rick Rudin and others for showing me episodes on Disney+. I just wish other streaming services headed to, as I do not have a DP account… DP is Disney+. Well, I have to take a little bit of that back, as some friends of mine, have a DP account, but I cannot sign in right now. Still loved the part where Percy says “why does there have a goat in your pants? “To Grover. “Oh, you didn’t tell her about me? You’re early, what is said by Sally. So I wonder why Sally knows about Grover, other than what’s being said in the book… I am reading to catch up… And everything else. Can’t wait to see Poseidon, but I guess that was Hades, talking, whenever you said “I’m going to kill you, “in a memory type sequence, I guess. The soundtrack sound like something that could be in a video game, so that would actually kind of cool if they kept it and used it as such. Thank you again for sharing, and whenever I can, I’ll keep up with this series. Of course, I do know the difference in fiction and reality, and that’s that. The only thing i wish is that they could have given us the 3rd episode to show the trios dynamic While I definitely do like the choice to give Percy's dynamic with Luke more, it seems like an odd choice that the trio that's been the entire face of promotion doesn't have a single scene all together for the first 2 episodes (around 83 minute total runtime)

For me I think that when Annabeth said "You Drool when you sleep" it was too underwelming. I just feel like she was nott being sacractick enough or Annabeth enough. I love the Series with all my little heart, but I thought it was underwelming. I love Annabeth and the episodes too!!!

Bruh y'all really like this series, like acting wasn't good(especially grover), editing/writing, as said in the video, they were some random cuts which I don't think makes sense and THE BIGGEST BUMMER FOR THIS SHOW is the scene where poseidon claims percy, in the book it was so dramatic( atleast for me) BUT the show didn't do justice for that scene it was just a trident floating above percy's head, they didn't use the clouds WHY???

I am so disappointed! There were as many inaccuracies in the episodes as the movie! These made me the maddest: 1) The Name Drops: did he forget that names have power? They said the gods names every other line. 2) The action was way too fast and way too easy: i.e Ms. Dodds and the Minotaur 3) The Capture the Flag: it wasn’t engaging at all. And Annabeth pushing him into the lake? What was up with that. Not a good start, but I have hope for the future episodes.
