holy shit. this song was stuck in my head for a few days when i'm suddenly at work, look over at a co-worker and just go "airbase espionage." jumpin jesus i wish my 64 still worked lol
To me, the soundtrack shows the dark atmosphere in this game. It's almost saying that Joanna knows that she might be killed, and maybe she is scared. And other times, she might enjoy the killing, like Pelagic 2
I know that, man!! I consider this jewel the best game of all times and my favorite of all. It has good plot, very good music, many unsolved mysteries like the hidden cheeses, great charachters, good graphics in spite of that time, and the first complex deciding AI in games.
Yeah ur right! I love the bit at 0:46. Can't explain what it is, but Rare were always, without fail, excellent at making Mysterious tunes on their games! Best Games developer of all time!
Dreadfort serjeant-at-arms they don't actually relate, but I played Perfect Dark (and by extension, its music) a lot during that time, so it's a vivid memory
Ive been playing Gears of War 2 and now 3, for a few years. I still go and play P.Dark on Xbox. First time I revisted the game was hard to get used to the movements. P.Dark is slower than games these days. I still think this was the best shooter ever and will be playing well into retirement when all I will do is play video games, hence my Perfect Dark avatar t-shirt.
Amen. Rare was MADE for Nintendo. Some of the best games EVER were by rare for the N64. It was the Rockstar of the mid-late 90s generation of consoles. Now it's dead. RIP Rare. :(
RareWare was the best game developer EVER. That is, until Microshit bought them out, and now they are virtually dead. But the old RareWare will live forever in our old games and our hearts! :-)
I always liked the way that the crossbow was supposed to be "knocking out" the guards instead of killing them, despite the bolt going clear through their heads.
Rareware "died" because all the good old employees left, even Tim and Chris Stamper (brothers). Perfect Dark remake is virtually their only "comeback", which I have heard was an outstanding remake, with better textures, and modernized gun models, and a better looking Joanna (not the shitty red-haired one from PD Zero). However, the enemies are still programmed the same, running and shooting like they are in the matrix. lol
I always loved punching the guy who says "You shouldn't have come here, girl" in the face. I still do it for kicks, too, even after all of these years. Bastard had it coming. :P
I remember being so thrilled to be able to use the psychosis gun to turn the reg guards on this level into my followers before the nsa turns on the place and there all killed. Then me and 3 or so air guards do our best to clean out the nsa soldiers there Dragons against those K7 Avengers with the K7 nsa guys 80% winning against my Dragon weilding airmen
Top shooters of all time you ask?! Doom, Quake III Arena, Halo 2, Half-Life 2, Counter-Strike, Battlefield 1942, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark, Hexen, Duke Nukem 3D...in that order. If I had to live forever on an island with interent but i had to play one of these for eternity...Halo2.
What happened to Rare eh? Everything changed after Microsoft bought them in 2002. Starfox Adventures was the last Great Rare Game! Even though Perfect Dark Zero was also very good, it just didn't have that Magic that all the others had. I suppose it was something in the N64 graphics, even though it looked nice for it's time, it was never perfect, and it was that which left the imagination run crazy. Best games Developer ever!
Rare is the Greatest Games developer ever! As much as I want to buy COD-MW3 and other new shooters, no Shoot-em up beats this Gem! The only game that is a close second to Super Mario 64 in my eyes! I love this tune, especially at 0:46. Mysterious sound. I always love going to the Bird at the Reception desk on this level, putting a Mine up her Bum and exploding it. She goes flying Hahaha! Awesome!
Yeah,I agree in the Nintendo era of the 90s Rare could not do wrong. Its games averaged about 8/10 in reviews and it produced incredible shooters like perfect dark/Goldeneye. If only Rare had not been bought out by microsoft and then split by the formation of Free radical. It should have stuck with Nintendo and the Gamecube/Wii would have had some major quality FPS/adventure games. -sigh-
At 0:45 it's like EPIC... Damn, wouldn't you love a remake of this game for PC with new graphics? Hell, where are the present FPS heading to? Everything it's like Halo or COD, strong marines with nice weapons and... and what? Where is my laser watch? And what about the farsight or the tranquilizer? *sighs*
