This track is a gaming masterpiece! The timing of each bit of music is brilliant from start to finish, and 3:20 is my favourite track in the entire game xD
This is a perfect example how midi audio files can be EXCELLENT for games!Just listen to what they have accomplished in this game! The whole soundtrack is EPIC! RAREWARE(formel official name of RARE) at its gold times!
Has anyone else noted how well this game was coded? I mean there are hacks that allow you to customize your own weapons - with the existing code in the game. That's impressive. I'm a second year programmer and I am seriously impressed by this. For some reason I am of the paradigm that "back then" programmers weren't as good as they are today.
Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think the Investigation X music ever played in the level. I don't think there was any point where it triggered which I found a bit odd.
There is a computer console there that you can use to unlock a hidden door that allows you to sneak into the basement. If you do it without being seen, you can get the level's hidden weapon (double CMP-150s). And now you know!
No other FPS and I mean no other FPS can compare to the sheer brilliance that is Perfect Dark. Only Goldeneye and maybe the first Halo game come close. But there's just something about it that makes it so awesome. To me it might have the best Soundtrack I've heard in an FPS. Plus that multiplayer can keep you busy for maybe just as a long as an internet gaming session. Also is it weird that I want to play this song while playing the Battlefield games?
@songotenz02 Agreed. And from sone pretty unexpected sources like Perfect Dark, Halo (not a huge fan of the game but no one can deny its brilliant compositions), even Command and Conquer Tiberian Sun. Oops, forgot Starcraft.
WHO THE HHHHHELl ARE YOU switch this thing off allow me to assist you .... LEAVE THIS PLACE NNOOW... *hits in the head* another room w-what are you doing in my lab shut down the experiments i..i shut it down .... SECRUUUUUIIIIITYYYYYYY *bangs in the head* hilarious
@4400seriesFAN Yo! There's no audio stream, the game does wavetable synthesis on it's rcp/cpu based on sample-rate-reduced WAV samples and a miniUSF file (a midi-like sequenced music format) per song to setup and play the instruments with various properties such as panning, volume, etc (as referenced in a USFlib life). MP3s are for speech.
That’s for uploading but you got the title slightly wrong. It’s dataDyne research not central. Central is only for the 1st and 3rd parts of the dataDyne mission. This, part 2, doesn’t go by central at all for whatever reason.
Dragons + Corridors = Proximity mines fiesta ! But i'm wondering about the utility of the room on the right on the beginning... It is just a dead-end with some guards that won't chase after you if you don't go ont them, there is not armor nor special weapon...
@Hayato1992 haha i know what u mean now! haha when the nerdy dude says that its so cheezy but it was a classic moment of the game haha i can tell u r a true fan of perfect dark :)
@tecmo1 Holy f*ck, ur right, they f*cked up that string section! It sounded disconnected to me, perhaps because they re-pitched the samples that were meant to play the low and high part, what do you think?
@conkerzzz I HIGHLY doubt it!! An mp3 file has a size of 3.5MB aprox. and a WAV file 10 times more...The capacity of the N64 cartridges is 40MB...So,mp3 or WAV files are impossible to fit in an N64 game!
@SlimWaluigi Your Grade point average, An A is 4points, B- 3 points, C- 2 points, D- One Point. F- None. You calculate it by adding them together and dividing that number by how many classes you're taking. God why the hell am I talking about school on a Perfect Dark video, that's insulting Perfect Dark.
