We followed this recipe for our first ever family Xmas turkey dinner this year and it was brilliant - simply the best tasting turkey I have ever had. Thanks so much Schuey from a fellow Aussie presently living in Europe. BTW our turkey was a small one, only 3.5kg, free range of French origin.

Glad you put this up as we had rubber skin yet beautiful meat on our turkey wings the other week, may i ask your thoughts on controlling heat, or ask if you could make a vid on the topic, i live in an area that can be blowing a gale, then be as still as the eye of a cyclone, im sure some other newbies would love the advice as much as i would.

Awesome stuff. I was a little worried it was going to be a massive bird, and I'm always worried about using birds in the Weber (either under cooked or more often way over cooked) Picked up a temp probe kit recently though, so keen to give it a go. A turkey that size be doable for me with plenty of leftovers :)
@SchueysBBQ

Thanks Beano, yeah I always aim for a smaller bird as they still end up feeding a lot of people when you add all of the sides 🍻

Thanks James Seagrove, use the snake method mate, just remember to spin the grill around every 45 minutes a little, just to keep the lit fuel opposite the turkey at all times. 🍻

Thank you, planning on doing this for Christmas. Wondering about stuffing. Does anyone stuff their turkey on weber. I guess this would affect cooking time.. Also suggest you add the weight of the bird, cooking time, and temp to the description. Also you list the compound butter ingredients twice in the description with some slice differences. . Thanks

Hi schuey. I'm doing a 3.2 kg boned and rolled crown so no cavity for the hot air to get inside. How would I adjust my time for this? And I don't have a slow n sear plate I was thinking of just using a basket and a tray with a little water in it. Opinion please😅
