Kate Bush is an exquisite and outstanding talent in her own right. An amazing songwriter, performer, producer and all round genius artist. You should definitely explore more of her work.
I've heard several versions of this song, with different female vocalists. Each one hits different. Its like the song's meaning changes depending on the woman he's singing with. You should hear the version with Sinead O'Connor. Amazing
I remember hearing this song when it was originally released in the 80's. I was only in my early teens at the time, so the full context and gravity of the song passed me by in my youth. As I got older and experienced more of the true ups and downs of life it really started to hit home whenever I heard it. I'm 48 now and I can't listen to it anymore without having tears rolling from my eyes. I relate so much to this song these days. So many times I've hurt people or let them down or felt like I've failed in life. I'm far from perfect and I've made a lot of mistakes in life, but I do admit to them and regret them. It's part of life and learning to accept that we are only human and we falter sometimes. It took a lot of ups and down in life, but then I finally found the right lady in my life 3 years ago, who truly understands and accepts me and the mistakes I have made. She's become my Kate Bush from this song. I've learned through her to no longer dwell on the past, but to move on and embrace the future and whatever it may bring. Lovely reaction Gracie x
Please check out Kate Bush "This Woman's Work." Maxwell covered this song but it was written by Kate and released in 1989 before his version. Also "Running Up That Hill" by Kate She is a very successful singer, songwriter, producer, dancer here in the UK. Highly respected as she does everything under her own strict control.
Luv ya Gracie, you knocked this one outta the park, yes Kate Bush is meant to portray the loving loyal wife in times of her husbands dark dismal failure. She lifts him up. She gives him reason to believe. She is his rocket for success.
African beats in the beginning, and in the very end. Kate and Peter together, could it be good? Ohhhhhhhh yes!!! Two unique individuals/artists - that knows how to get feelings across... Thank you! Love your reaction!
Please react to Kate Bush song, "This Woman's Work". It is an amazing song. Many people have covered it. Most notably Maxwell. But This Woman's work was written and sung originally by Kate Bush.
Beautiful reaction of to legend singer ❤ Just love the way, you just feel the sound and sing to this amazing, beautiful song. Keep up, with reaction videos ❤
Dancing at the end of this song is about as crass as I can imagine. This song is subtle and so is the video with the eclipse in the background coming and then lifting. Hugging is good, especially if it is Kate Bush in your arms.
Ooo you did this version too, i`m pleased you did as this was the original, love the way you always give your true impression of the songs, you real reaction, Indian curry tonight so no cake as there`s no room for both.
@@GracieReacts Not here in the UK it`s more of a type of food, there are many many types of curry, cool to firely hot with loads of side dishes of vegetables, rice, breads and sauces, curry houses ( as we call them) are in every town and city and we love curry here in the UK, more than fish and chips and pizza, it`s almost a national dish, google it or google images of english/indian curries. curry is kinda centered around garlic, onions, lentils, coconut, chillies, turmeric all blended together with either meat (chicken, lamb, beef) or vegetables like potato, chickpeas, spinach, okra and all served with rice and perhaps breads of different types.
Absolutely love your reaction so glad I stumbled on your reactions , please listen to plain white ts hey there Delilah ,the words n story are fantastic
Hi Gracie! I am the one who sent you the links for both versions of this song. Your Peter Gabriel reactions are what brought me to your channel, and made me subscribe. I hope you can see why I thought that anybody learning about Peter Gabriel, and enjoying it, had to check out this song. It seemed to make you a bit emotional both times, but that is good - it makes me emotional after hearing it hundreds of times (especially "We're proud of who you are"). Peter Gabriel was known for his crazy music videos, but honestly, this one is probably my favourite even though it is so simple. I love that they shot it all in one take. And the solar eclipse in the background fits nicely with the song, with the sun coming back out as Kate Bush continues to bring hope with her singing. There is no wrong answer to which version you like best. I was lucky enough to see Peter Gabriel live in Toronto years ago, and he was touring with an Uzbek singer named Sevara at the time. Their version of the song was also incredible. And I love that you interpret the two versions slightly differently. Be well, Gracie, and don't give up! ps I am also a fan of the blue hair. But you rock every look.
@@neilshackleton89 I'm the one who requested Gracie's first Peter Gabriel reaction💪. I'm glad that you found her, Gracie is like Sunrays on a dreary day. I can't recall how I got "Gracie on my screen"
@@borischum5733 Nice. It is great to see somebody young and positive is getting good music shared with them. Every era has great music, and we all just have to share it and listen to what is shared with us.
Please check out Daniel Balavoine "Pour la femme veuve qui s'éveille". Daniel was strongly influenced by Peter Gabriel and his message is on par with Peter's artistic drive. It's funny you have noticed a somewhat "country" style in Kate's delivering because Peter originally wanted Dolly Parton to song this duet but she turned down the offer because she didn't know Peter. Bob Ross would have qualified this event as a "happy accident"...
