Jumping at Shadows must be one of the most haunting Fleetwood Mac songs ever. The guitar playing and soulful vocals are truly out of this world (especially the longer Boston live version) No doubt that Peter Green was a musical genius. Danny was superb too!

What a fabulous upload. Thank you. Been listening to this band since hearing Christine mcvie talk about peters melodies on desert island disc nearly a year ago. Needless to say was blown away by peter (missed them in 60s) and it's taken me this long to realise just how good danny was. It's amazing that peter came back and played after what he'd been through was just a huge musical talent. Don't know where you get this music but keep it coming. Love it all.

thewordofgod: I still live in Aberdeen, would have been 12 or 13 at the time. Funny thing, in those days for some strange reason a lot of top acts were attracted here, it was quite busy musically, especially Radio One Roadshows, they were always packed out. There wasn't an official Radio Aberdeen that I recall, but a massive amount of enthusiasim kept things going to get live acts for the equally enthusiastic fans. Remember this was the kind of music we used to get on the radio all over the UK at the time, anything with an edge that charted, kids were nuts for it! The days when anything was possible. lol

Even as i write this, I just learned that Christine McVie just passed away today at 79. I am 73 myself, and as a long time fan of Fleetwood Mac and all of the Players of that culturally and musically significant band with a history that has another transition today. One of my favorite songs that is representative of Christine's excellent musicianship to me is, "Why", on "FM Live from the record plant 12/15/74, and also on "Mystery to Me". I will always appreciate Christine's voice and her musical contributions. And am reminded in closing of her song, "remember me".

This is fantatsic. Not only so you get the lovely guitar playing of Peter Green and Danny Kerwin, backed by the soild drumming and bass playing of Mick Fleetwood and John McVee, there is Jemery Spencer. I love the rock'n'roll stuff and as my favoruite guitarist of all time is Elmore James, I love the slide numbers too. Then there is Albertross and Pete's singing and songwriting. The varity of songs is great. I've heard a reasonable amount of early Fleetwood Mac but this one seems to have passed me by. Actually it didnt entirely pass me by aa I have the BBC live release but three tracks here are not on that.

It was almost an aside when i heard Christine McVie say a couple of months ago, "Fleetwood Mac, the Band has broken up. And the whole thing is a History of A Culturally Important Band. But the thing i'm picking more and more is the gathering evidence that "It's All Music." I've always looked somewhat askance at the idea that Peter Green was actually 'a rock god'; but his playing is representational of higher truths. "Man of the World", "Oh Well", and the other anthems do have a spirituality about them that helps erase the barriers between belief and skepticism, playing and nonsense; living and dying; and the place of this band will persist through time. "Albatross" is a stroll across the waters. Their music means a lot to me. Thank you.
