WOW!! This is my very favorite Phil Collins song, even though I like a lot of songs that he wrote with Genesis and Brand X as well. Daryl Stuermer just sends chills down my spine and tears to my eyes when he plays this solo! This guitar solo is about at the same taste level and meaningful choice notes as David -God- Gilmour himself!
Phil has given us EVERYTHING! He worked his whole life like a maniac (Genesis, Brand-X, soundtracks, even producing people like Frida from Abba and acting in movies etc.) sacrificing his health for the music. His legend will live on forever.
Daryl is excellent but don't forget about Chester Thompson. His drumming at the end is superb. One of the few times, I can remember to musicians going into the 'zone' simultaneously!!! Bravo, Chester!!!!!
This song has always kicked my ass and made me want to just get off my ass and quit making excuses! LOL Inspires me to tell people to get outta my way, and take no prisoners. hehe :) I love the energy and positivity of this song.
Phil Collins is one the worlds best song writers and drummers, along with Chester Thompson. Forever Phil. Phil live in Paris on DVD is fabulous. thougnt I add that in there
One of the best songs of the 80s! Whenever I hear this, it inspires me to do anything I want, ANYTHING I WANT! Thanks for posting. The 80s rule! Those were the days. Nostalgia, nostalgia, and nostalgia! Although this is a live version, it sounds pretty much like the original 1985 one. Thank you PC.
im almost pretty sure i was there. at least at one of the shows those couple of nights. ill never forget it cause 1, it was my 19th b-day, and 2 i had just got back from desert shield. US Navy, USS Suribachi AE-21. go navy, beat army!!!!!
i listened to this cassette for a few of my teen years back in the late 80's and god damn if i forgot this song! what an incredible sound. i don't think phil ever recorded a song that you couldn't. thanks, great post!!
True professionals in action. None of this gangsta or hip hop, or Britney, or Cobain, or Spice Girls. These folks delivered the goods on this night - and that was almost 20 years ago. Young knuckleheads would do well to learn - from the learned. Good stuff - nice tune - and done...professionally.
Un detalle, al igual que el video en vivo Berlin 1990, cuando comienza el solo final de guitarra Phil mira a Stuermer, y luego cerca del minuto 5:00 se sonrie de la misma forma que lo hace en Berlin 1990. Curioso
