@@MyPaigeAwesome Objection! He's practicing apnea because he's a professional swimmer, he's not dead and he's standing there menacingly because he's too busy at his exercises for apnea.
I love how melancholic this song is... It's definitely my favorite detention center theme by far. It's sad but yet somehow still has a tinge of hope... but it's like it's saying "we can try again tomorrow..." kind of a sad, tired procrastination.
Edgeworth’s life really is a tragedy. His father was murdered when he was so young... And at that time, the murderer wasn’t even caught. He was trained by Von Karma, but when Edgeworth found out it was Von Karma that murdered his father, he must have felt betrayed... Not to mention he spent his whole life thinking he killed his own father. If it weren’t for Phoenix, Gumshoe, Maya and all the others, Edgeworth would have gone to jail for a murder he didn’t commit.
I've been playing through the series and as of late im midway through farewell, my turnabout (Amazing case) but i honestly prefer the sombre sorrow of jfa det theme. To me it has a lot more of a 'Look at them... i have to get them outta here.' which i love when the game silently juxtaposes that with (SUPER MAJOR SPOILERS) a different theme plays with the true culprit
This sounds exactly how it needs to. Just imagine meeting with someone you know didn’t commit the crime and how lost and hopeless they feel. Don’t worry we’ll get you out of this!
Did barely notice the music until Will Power's arc... just fit him so much i thought it was his theme until the next episode He was betrayed by his collegue and his bosses and is just a simple man that love his job but refuse to destroy kid's dreams to get famous We don't know him before, still he get immediately our compassion just for being himself
Precisely, I still think it’s mostly Will Powers’ theme despite the Steel Samurai song existing. It immediately plays and you realize how hard it’s been on him. It also sounds vaguely in the style of all the tracks from 1-3 too
This song proves how important a lawyer is. If innocent people have to be trapped behind the bars forever because of a crime they didn't commit, this is how lonely and depressing it can get. The worst part is, there are assholes in real life who are like Manfred von Karma, those are truly evil people.
0:00 I’m... crying... it’s like every time I hear this... I see faces of people who I can relate to the most... because almost every one of them was faced with an impossible situation to be deemed innocent from but still manage to get by
To me, when I first heard this, I thought it sounded lots like some sort of *game over theme.* It sounded perfect for that. Also it's amazing. I loved every chance I got to see someone in the detention center and hear this play.
Yeah, it actually does! It's quite clever, in context. For the defendants, it _is_ game over. They think there's no way to turn the case around and prove their innocence, but the theme is nonetheless somewhat hopeful because there is actually a way, difficult as it may be.
This will always remind me of Turnabout goodbyes. I know it's used in another cases too, but I can't shake the pain I felt during the detention visit in that case.
(Spoilers for AJ) Yeah, it definitely hits different when you are confronting someone that's only in jail because of the forged evidence that _you_ presented. And it really adds weight onto the fact that Phoenix just lost his badge.
You know what I love about this theme? It really does feel different for each character it's used for, even though it's the exact same song. Maya, poor innocent Maya, has just been accused of murdering the only close relative she had left, and was the one who came across her body. No one else is willing to help her, even the one person she thought she could count on. We know she's innocent, Phoenix knows, but no one else believes her. This theme encapsulates the heartbreak and turmoil of the effect Mia's death had on both Maya and Phoenix. Will Powers, a man who only wanted to make the kids happy, who's practically given up even trying to be declared innocent. When you see how downtrodden he is, combined with this theme, it just makes you feel so bad for the guy. Not to mention you barely see him outside of the detention center, so everytime you talk to him it's always this theme playing, and it makes you want to get him free that much more. Edgeworth, the man who helped you get Powers delcared innocent, who is utterly ashamed that you have to see him like this, all the while being tormented of his past. Edgeworth refuses your help, despite knowing full well no one else will defend him, because he doesn't want you involved. When this theme kicks in, it makes you want to keep fighting to break down those barriers and defend him. To remember that Edgeworth, ruthless prosecutor as he may be, is still a human. You can really feel his pain, and Phoenix's desperation, in this song. Lana Skye, a woman who will do anything to save her sister, who refuses to tell you anything and wants to take the fall herself. You can tell there's more to her story, but she refuses to break. You can feel her determination in this theme.
Adding to this, in Apollo Justice I associate this theme with Phoenix. Selecting the detention center to talk to Valant Gramarye has this music playing, and it definitely reflects what Phoenix must've been going through on the inside. He was disbarred and lost his badge, and his accidental presenting of forged evidence made him feel like a criminal.
Ik a lot of people associate this theme with Miles but I always think of Valant Gramarye. Such a gut punch to have this theme play right after Phoenix loses his badge… very effectively gives you nostalgia that also punches you in the gut because it gives you a sense of familiarity to remind you that everything in Phoenix’s life just shattered
i played ace attorney last night and everytime i heard this song, i felt so sad and melancholic, this song really affected me to my core for some reasons.
This REALLY hit me hard when it played in AJ. Ow. (Spoilers for anyone who hasn't finished AJ I think) It was during that really weird Mason System investigation. I went straight to the Detention Center because that's what I usually did, and *ow* this song hurt - I'd just watched Phoenix lose his badge and then this song perfectly fit how hopeless the situation felt.
Just finished that part and hearing this gave me flashbacks to the first Ace Attorney game and filled me with immense nostalgia. Never thought I'd hear it again in-game, so when it happened I was flabbergasted. Hands down my favorite Detention Center theme.
This song brings back memories. *Remembers Maya* It was sad memories. *Remembers Will Powers* They were all alone and helpless. *Remembers Edgeworth* Im not gonna cry. You are. *Remembers Lana* I aint crying. *Remembers everyone* Give me a minute.
This was perfect to hear once Mia is gone and you’re alone with yourself and her heartbroken sister who no one wants to defend Then I read “I know what it feels like to not having anyone on your side” and I knew this game was special Man I love the first AA game so much, it’s a masterpiece and a miracle they nailed so fucking much right away with a team of rookies and two cents as the budget. Also let’s not forget it was a freaking gameboy advanced game and it feels like it came out yesterday.
I haven’t heard anyone bring this up but when I hear this me personally I think of Phoenix. Although we obviously never hear this soundtrack played for him, the sadness and sorrow of it all still reminds me of the time he had to spend overnight in a jail cell after Redd White accused him of murder. I imagine he struggled to get sleep that night but in the back of his mind knew he had to because he couldn’t let himself be declared guilty. Being completely alone that night because remember, he didn’t really have friends at this point. His mentor was dead and him and Maya weren’t really close yet. Sure he had his childhood friend Larry but I doubt he even knew that he was in jail and was probably messing around with some girl. And his other childhood friend Edgeworth seemed like he hated him. Phoenix didn’t get to have what all the other defendants did A person to be there for him and say they believe him and will get him out of this
I know people talk about will and edgeworth when they hesr this, but honestly Maya's case is where we hear this first and honestly still has the most impact. This poor girl goes to visit her sister only to find her dead, and on top of that shes thrown into jail aithout any clue why shes being accused.
Something about seeing edgeworth behind the glass for the first time with this music was such a punch to the face. This theme kills it when it comes to detention center themes and will be the most hard hitting one imo
I remember watching Jay play Ace Attorney and a no commentary play through and i just got hooked in Ace Attorney, this is one of the most greatest osts, so chill and fire at the same time.
Funnily enough, when I first played this game, I thought that this would be Maya Fey's theme song, because I thought that every client would have a unique theme that would play in the detention center. And since your first client is Maya, it just made sense to me at the time Still the best song in the whole series though
@@mommysatchick-fil-a3994 I finished the last roundabout and stopped on the extra, I'm studying a lot so I coudn't have time to play, but hopely soon I'll play again
It surprisingly hit me more when I saw Lana there. The damn chief prosecutor, beautiful and mighty, turning her back to you, and this theme playing in the background
Saludos.
@@marlo176 Guess it didn't take long to solve what I was referring to. Anyway the fact that this track has somewhat of a familiar pitch to that particular game, it just gives me all the more reason and motivation to defend my client.
@@supergonkdroid3040 I got what you were referencing instantly but I was wondering if you randomly thought of this or so happen to listen to this again and made the connection
This theme is really heartbreaking. Seeing the sad look on their face, and knowing they probably got caught into this mess by pure accident… But this theme oddly makes me feel kinda happy, happy that they have a person like Phoenix that WILL try to defend and safe them no matter what. It gives a sense of hope, y’know?
I think Powers and Edgeworth were so unlucky with being caught, one was drugged and asleep while it was happening and the other was in the wrong place at the worst time
this song will always remind me of will powers. i rember seeing his face in the detention center, all sad and hopeless. how he cared for others while looking like a murderer is something i admire of him... matt engarde on the other hand is the oppisite. he was """cheerfull""" and had the scent of spring breeze, but ended up as the most evil character in ace attorney.
