Excellent instructions. My instruction manual doesn't include the necessary step of turning on the machine before entering decalc mode. Kind of critical. So, thank you for the complete instructions. Worked perfectly. 👍
My machine got stuck in descaling mode. Re-holding buttons for 5 seconds did not help, nor did turning off at the power. To fix: After trial and error, once the first cycle is finished, remove the water container, fill it back up, clip the container back on, then wait around 2 mins. The 2 blinking lights should speed up. Once they're flashing faster, push the right button again to begin the 2nd rinse. Repeat process. After the 4th rinse, fill back up the container, re-insert, then once the lights start blinking faster, hold them both down for 5 second to exit out of the descaling mode. The lights must both be blinking fast to exit descaling mode. Once both lights are on and no longer flashing, the machine is ready to use. Talk about a mission though! Like many on other videos, I assumed the machine was broken... It should work with most other types of pod machines, as they all seem to have a similar process. And if you don't have a fancy descaling product, white vinegar and water seems to work just as well 👍
Thank you for your comment. We recommend using the Nespresso Descaling Kit over other products like vinegar to regularly descale your Nespresso machine. Although vinegar is known for its descaling properties, it is too aggressive and can potentially damage the water circuit tubes and other machine parts. Furthermore, it can affect the taste of your coffee. Please reach out at 800-562-1465 should you require descaling assistance.
Mine gel stuck anlso after descaling…it’s not work anymore. When I turn on the light blinks slow and after a while blinks fast. It doesn’t matter which button I press, no difference. The machine continue blinking fast. @@nespresso
For the second descaling cycle i used a NEW descaling mixture instead or re using the old one. Is it okay? Re-using the same mixture is a way of saving money or are there other reasons for that?
you should say refill the container with water, adding it to the previously made mixture . otherwise it kinda sounds like ur talking about some other container at 58 seconds. can be interpreted more than one way
Refill with water, adding to the previously made mixture? I’m not sure what you mean by that. At no point do you add more water to the descaling mixture you already made. To descale: Run the descaling mix through twice. Discard the descaling solution. Wash the Pixie tank. Then run a tank of plain, fresh water through the machine. Run another tank of plain, fresh water through the machine. Exit the descaling mode. Refill the tank with a new batch of plain, fresh water for using the machine as normal. Hope this clarifies things. 🙂
