No sé por qué, pero esta interpretación es la que más me gusta. Más allá de las voces, lo que me sucede con esta versión es que Plácido, además de cantar, actúa de manera sensacional y conmoverora.
Yo prefiero a Mario del Mónaco.. pero creo que estamos todos de acuerdo en que en estas ligas todas las interpretaciones son estratosféricas, que viva la ópera
Ah oui, on le voit vraiment ne faire qu'un avec son personnage. Il en va jusqu'à aller au fond des pleurs au point qu'on pourrait penser un instant que ceux-ci sont vrais. Il fait même le geste de quelqu'un qui pleure, et parvient même à exprimer toutes les expressions de la douleur. Je vous félicite, Monsieur DOMINGO !
Tristeza, vergüenza, melancolía, aceptación, dolor, ira...todo en una sola escena, nadie mejor para interpretar esta pieza y trasnmitir todos estos sentimientos que Placido Domingo.
Placido's rendition will always be my favorite. He doesn't just sing the part, he becomes it! Placido's voice have a way of triggering chills and tears at the same time. Placido Domingo is the artist's artist.
I'd always seen Pavarotti's version and thought he did a wonderful job. But man, Placido's rendition brought tears to my eyes. His way of singing and raw emotion. Made me feel every bit of sadness and anguish of this character. Excellent work Mr. Placido Domingo.
I totally agree with you : I'm a fan of Pavarotti too, but I must admit that the dramatic power and the emotional impact given by Domingo are the best.
This aria never fails to bring me to tears, truly the saddest in the entire repertoire. I hate that humans are capable of causing this much torment to another person. I truly empathize with and grieve for anyone who has been cheated on or felt the agonizing pain of broken love, whether they “deserved” it or not.
A mi está obra me recuerda a un ex novio con el que me iba a casar. Terminamos porque su madre se lo pidió y en el momento que estábamos terminando se estaba riendo y haciendose el payaso, pero yo sabía que en su interior estaba sintiendo mucho dolor porque él aún me amaba. Y pues yo en su momento lo odié, pero con esta obra lo comprendí mucho y ahora solo siento mucha pena por él. Es sublime como esta obra representa ese lado humano de fingir que ríes para no llorar. Le dicen el síndrome del payaso triste y la gente que lo padece suele terminar mal por reprimir sus emociones.
Porque están bien pendejos, no conocen del buen arte, ellos puro sexo, reguetón, drogas y estupideces de canciones en hoy en día, y si educación es asquerosa, por eso cuando escuchan opera dicen q es aburrida, pero ellos nunca podrán identificarse con un dolor o vivencia q trásmite la ópera

It's the crescendo, & it so emotionally charged & powerful one is incapable of being unmoved, it overwhelms, makes one stand in awe and one is overcome with soaring emotion of beauty and at the same time sinking into the depths of sadness! En parte ando emocional pero especificamente ese minuto y segundos me sacaron las lagrimas. Lo vi en sus ojos, lo senti en su voz y lo note en su caminar. La tristeza en si misma.
1:45-2:06 this particular part of the song always brings tears to my eyes. It is beautiful and heartbreaking and you can see how well Placido embodies the pain Canio is going through. "Ridi, pagliaccio, sul tuo amore infranto" "Laugh, clown, at your broken love!" "Rie, payaso, de tu amor roto" Placido, eres un genio de la voz, te e adorado desde que era chiquita, tu rendicion de este aria sera por siempre mi favorita.

For me Placido Domingo is the best tenor ever. His voice is so colourful, full of emotions and Placido is great actor as well... Makes me cry everytime i listen his records. I was in Cesky Krumlov in august at his concert and it was so beautiful experience. In his 70s he is still great singer. Adore him.

No one can sing this piece like Placido. He sing it from the bottom of his heart and soul, maybe because he knows very well what it is to laugh in public and at the same time be so sad for what he has lost. Placido you are the best.
It's uncanny how this one piece so accurately puts on display the anguish and pain that is sometimes the human condition.Surely for anyone whose felt love and had that same love betrayed does this piece vividly represent.Undeniably brilliant!
This reminds me of my 7 year relationship. I gave my all and in a few days he found someone else younger with money. While they alughed at my back along with all his friends and family. I felt exactly like this.
La de Pavarotti siempre será la voz más poderosa y una de las mejores de la historia....sin embargo, la interpretación de Plácido, no fué nunca superada. Ambos artistas portentosos, sobre-humanos en espíritu y sensibilidad.
That was always his biggest strenght, perhaps his voice was never as big as Pavarotti´s or some other singers, but as a performer he was by far the best of his generation, that´s why he is my favorite tenor. He isn´t just a singer or an actor, he was born to perform opera.
@@davidsosa538 Pavarotti’s voice was not big. It sounds big on recordings but it was quite thin. Domingo’s voice was more versatile and as evidenced here he always sang with passion.
En esta interpretación más allá de la magnifica voz, parece que estuviera recordando una vivencia personal, se siente el dolor, la emoción simplemente la mejor versión de esta aria.
Ví hace como 12 años este video completo y aquella ocasión lloré en esta aria. Después de muchos años no puedo dejar de sacar lágrimas cuando veo a Plácido Domingo actuar de esta manera...!!! WOW!!! He escuchado a otros tenores cantando esta aria pero el que me conmueve es P. Domingo en esta actuación.
La mejor interpretación de este aria que jamás he podido ver. Plácido además de ser una de las voces del Olimpo operístico es el mejor interpretador de todos.

En ocasiones la música se convierte en algo indescriptible pero a la vez tan conmovedor y hermosos que lo disfrutas al máximo, está interpretación es simplemente maravillosa!

Siempre vi la de Pavarotti, primera vez que veo la de Plácido. Magistral... Hermosamente trágico su cantar, que sentimiento en esa voz e interpretación dan ganas de llorar.. inmejorable. Makes me wanna cry, can't be any better.
True, he is not crying. Difficult for opera singers - they must act the part well. To do so, they must feel the part, but at the same time, they must not really cry or be too distracted! Crying would ruin the voice, distracted and they'd be off time, miss cues. Takes great performance ability to be IN the part, yet be paying attention.
Sorry, but he is crying while singing. Florenza Cossoto knew how to do so as well, cf Cavaleria Rusticana. He learned somehow to cry while singing while that sounds bloodless it is in fact the opposite. He sacrifices his heart to the demand of his art in the moment so we, we, can weep with him while receiving the beauty of his voice. He is the greatest tenor, ever. Just admit it. You know in your heart that it is true.
It used to irk me that nearly every tenor sang this IN COSTUME, with makeup already in place (including Caruso). Domingo plays it to much more dramatic effect by daubing the ashen makeup on (making him look like a madman under the lights), nearly ripping the costume apart with rage and despair, and dragging it behind him like chains. Now THAT is Pagliaccio.
Apoteósico, que maravillosa presentacion. Es una música celestial que penetra al fondo del alma y trata de comprender tu dolor, tu lamento, tus penas y sufrimientos.Solo uno sabe lo que siente dentro. Llega un momento en que queremos decir: basta, estoy cansado, necesito que me apoyen!... pero no nos creen, creen que somos de hierro, que no sentimos cansancio, dolor,angustia, que solo fuimos creados para cumplir nuestras obligaciones,....y que nos queda a los "pagliaci", seguir con nuestra función ponernos nuestra careta al hombro, seguir dándole duro a la vida por los nuestros, fingir que somos muy fuertes mientras sufrimos por dentro. En fin como dice el aria: ríe, solo ríe pagliaci, así te estés desangrando por dentro.
Vraiment très émouvant, un milliard de bravos monsieur DOMINGO, sans doute l' une des meilleures interprétations ! J'ai eu vraiment une forte envie de pleurer, et si je ne m'etais pas forcée à regarder ailleurs un instant, j'aurais très certainement pleuré. Ado, j'ecoutais déjà Placido DOMINGO et Luciano PAVAROTTI, et , je trouvais leurs voix incroyables, là, j'ai bientôt 47 ans ( en Juin) et je trouve qu'il a toujours gardé son intarissable talent. Bravo, Monsieur DOMINGO !
How can music be so powerful? This evokes so much sadness that makes me kinda sick. We can see Canio's sadness and how he was heartbroken, and his effort to still work (which is mostly laughing, even when he was sad). This is really sad, but beautiful
Su trabajo es hacer reír a la gente... y a pesar de su gran sufrimiento por enterarse que Colombina, su esposa lo engaña con Arlequín, otro personaje de la obra, tiene que ponerse el traje para salir a trabajar. Quizá uno de los momentos más dramáticos de la operística de todos los tiempos es representada aquí por un gran cantante y actor. De la inmortal ópera de Ruggero Leoncavallo, Pagliacci, vemos en este video al final del primer acto el área Vesti la Giubba (ponte el traje) que ha llegado a ser más conocida como Ridi Pagliaccio, en que Plácido Domingo, nuestro Plácido Domingo, demuestra por qué es y ha sido uno de los más grandes tenores en la historia de la ópera. No se lo pierdan.
No lo hace con Arlecchino, lo hace con Silvio, un campesino. En la Commedia dell'arte, Colombina si lo engaña con Arlecchino, pero El teatro e la vita non son la stessa cosa!
