Since the Nobel Prize I've been trying to get The Wild Iris but it's always out on loan at the library (ever since she won, I doubt it was so in demand before then!). I know she said to start with Averno in her Nobel Prize phone call but The Wild Iris seems like the most popular one for now. Which have you read so far, are there any you prefer? I'll probably grab the first one I see at the library next time I can go in (COVID rates are too high for the next week or so).
@@levitybooks3952 I have read all of her poetry, and am a bit of a huge fan so can find joy in all of it. That being said, I appreciate others may not be the completest I am. So other options I would consider: The triumph of Achilles starts her transformation to more thematically linked poetry; Ararat is excellent and I really enjoyed Faithful and Virtuous Night. Would be happy to join you on a shared read of any of her books.
Thanks for this, I had no idea there was another book about cats by a serious writer. I've instead previously read Why Cats Paint by Busch & Silver and Zen for Cats by Beard. I'm definitely more of a dog person, I should probably read more dog books to reflect that too!
