D: ive been EV training wrong. I always max out the stats that have the lowest base stats to even them out with the other stats.
@ivorymantis1026
@ivorymantis1026 3 года назад
There's no such thing as a "wrong" build just _more_ or _less_ efficient. Plugging up some holes in stat spread may lead to higher independence in action (less reliant on pokemon teammates) but less focus on specialization. OP's video just shows an excessive focus on specialization is all.
@alphacide_2857
@alphacide_2857 2 года назад
That's not always a bad thing. There are certain ones I do that with because it would make things more predictable. Like giving EV's to a pokemon with a defense or sp defense stat that is low. You could also get a pokemon that has a higher attack than sp attack, or vice versa, and boost it's strongest stat. It's all situational. Like a ninjask, I want a -speed +attack nature with max attack and sp defense EVs. It's complicated fr

Sometimes it's actually valid to patch out low stats. There's a reason Chansey/Blissey sets go for defense oriented evs/natures.

Thanks for the info! I'm not a competitive player, but I'll keep it in mind. Also, I found another effective way to level up Pokemon and earn a lot of in-game money other than repeatedly fighting the Elite Four: Battle Chateau. In there, you can issue Writs to increase your winnings (Gold Writ of Invitation), have trainers come in and out more often (Silver Writ of Invitation), and even have have their Pokemon leveled up (Writs of Challenge other than Blue). This can be expensive, but if you battle enough (especially with the Amulet Coin) you can re-earn your spendings. The best normal trainers to find for leveling up are Furisode Girls. They only have two or three Audino, but they give you TONS of Exp. For money, look for Monsieurs and Madames, as well as Gym Leaders, the Elite Four, or even Champion Diantha herself, once you raise your rank high enough. Sorry for the rant. Just wanted to get that info out there.

If I had any Pokemon games I probably wouldn't be a competitive player, but I'd like to max out my Pokemon's EVs and get them to max level just because I'd like to see just how much I can obliterate the AI trainers lol.

Quick question: Are there other ways to effectively Super Train Pokémon besides the way taught in the video (i.e. raising EVs in a weaker base stat in order to balance out stats), or is the way you taught the only effective way if we want a championship-quality team?

Jimmy, I would like to make a request, can you make a video explaining how to breed IV's with Destiny Knot? There seems to be alot of controversy surrounding this topic and since you are very good at explaining things, I think you would be the perfect guy to do this kind of video.
@chizzicle
@chizzicle 10 лет назад
1 small correction (and only starting from gen 6) the maximum EV for a single stat is no longer 255. Or at least super training won't let you raise it higher than 252 which is pretty neat because it means you will never waste the 6 extra EV's by accidentally training too much.

I just want to say that this was super helpful. nintendo really hit it out of the park with this idea, and it makes competitive battling less of a ball-grindingly tedious chore and more of a legitimate part of the game,a nd this video helped me a lot with understanding its relation to the old method. Thanks Jimmy =)

Question, so do you still have to use the ten proteins or whatever to up that stat to 100 before EV training? And the points you get from the super training is added to that stat right? Also is the soccer ball thing and punching bag the same when it comes to gaining the points? It sounds like the punching bag is better though.
@TinyGuy97
@TinyGuy97 10 лет назад
You don't need those proteins when EV training, but it will help you a lot. And the game gives you a lot of money, so it's good to purchase them. The points you get from super training makes the stats goes up a lot when you level your pokemon up. Yes, both are the same, but you need to do the soccer thing first, to obtain the punching bags.
@Frostmute19
@Frostmute19 10 лет назад
When your pokemon's icon is sideways in the display for super training it means they are rested. Tap on them to wake them up where a :D will appear. As long as that :D is there you have a much higher chance of finding training bags when punching the bag so what I suggest is to hit the bag by tapping it during the :D time. Since you are hitting frequently you will now have higher chances for bag drops. The one thing is that the bags you get are randomized so you won't always get a reset bag sadly
@adipap13able

Just a helpful hint, you dont need to battle the e4 for cash. You could also try cafe le wow, already mentioned, or possibly even the battle château for easy money. Prize money power at higher levels helps as well.
@Erecii
@Erecii 10 лет назад
Also, with the use of Power Items and hordes, you can EV train is half the time then this takes. But I understand that this is for players who are a bit newer to training pokemon this way, and that this is the most convenient.

Do you still have to level once for the EVs to take affect? I have a level 100 blaskien I've had right since sap. and ruby and i would love to use a reset bag and give it whole new EVs.
@berzerk130
@berzerk130 10 лет назад
that depends on what you want the pokemon to be. For example, mantine can be a good special sponge or a bulky special attacker, so you could choose to train your mantine in special defense and hp for a defensive set, or HP and special attack for a bulky attacker set. The choice is yours. A good source for what is reccomended for each pokemon is smogon.com, theyre the authority on pokemon and you can get suggested ev spreads and movesets for any pokemon made before gen 6

Wait when you max out a stat and you want to work on other ones, does it make you start from square one in terms of the growing yellow points being erased so you have to do it again and does it reset the stats you got from training and do it again?
