This method of EV training takes a lot of requirements to be effective in the long run. You have to get the Power items from the Battle Maison, which is post-game, for hundreds of BP total, which is very hard to reach when your Pokémon aren't trained enough to get to Super Battles (for quicker BP). For the most part you also have to get Pokérus via trading and spread it -by battling-, which involves getting experience and EVs that you might not want. In that case, you have to use a Reset Bag.

Thanks for this, lately i've been training EV's in the Friend Safari. I have about 30 friends in my list and if i want to train for example HP then i have 1 safari that contains Chansey, Dunsparce and Audino. I also have pokerus and the power item and this way was already very fast. But i guess horde battles are even faster :D

I got a pokemon with static ability and a ground type spread move (Stunfisk) in the front. I go to route 5 for my ev training against hordes of Plusle and Minum because the static ability bring out those pokemon much more consistently than other pokemon. I found this to be a bit faster than using the wingals, even though i'm only ev training 4 pokemon at a time (not counting stunfisk and sweet scent pokemon)

It's so easy to EV train in this game. There is super training and horde battles, both of which were none existant before this game. Then on top of that, there is the Pokemon radar, so all you need to do is find a pokemon that gives the EVs that you want, and you can get it over and over by chaining it.

You prob get this question a lot but I'm kinda lost I understood the video. The thing is now what if you buy 10 vitamins then add pkrs, power item & do a horde battle what is the outcome of that? I'm used to the more traditional EV training where you fight one particular pkm at a time but then they added ST which doesn't make much sense to me when the EV's are added up because I want to know that I correctly put the right amount of EV's into my pkm.

Pokerus is fairly easy to get, if you spend the time doing it. How I got it in my X game was using the Lucario the 3rd gym gives you. I just spammed its power-up punch and other physical moves for awhile till the nurse at the pokemon center informed me that I found pokerus. Also, pokerus is spread through your team through battling. Just have a pokemon that has pokerus in your team and do a couple battles.

Now correct me if I'm wrong but isn't prankster it's hidden ability? apparantly u can get pokemon with hidden ability in horde battles? ALSO! I need help. I'm just going through the game, not sure if this Murkrow has good IVs..should I save it and not use it through in-game? I don't wanna ruin it's IV's if it does have good ones..

About 11 hordes which give 25 evs each (1 yield pokemon) or 9 which give 30 evs each (2 yield pokemon). No this only works if you want to fill the whole 252 space per stat. Getting more specific numbers requires precision.

Wow. Thank you for that information. On my platinum and Emerald versions, I have over `100 pokemon infected with Pokerus. When I get a X (or, maybe even as far as a Z) version, I will remember this tip to make my pokemon super strong. I would like a super-strong Carbink (sure, some of its stats are ok, but it does have a great movepool.)

@MrPabe95 10 лет назад
The best stat of your pokemon is usually the one that you will EV train. Example if i have a Gengar I would EV train it in Speed and Special Attack because those stats are already high and if i can get them higher i can hit first and with more power.
@loupandsnoop
@loupandsnoop 10 лет назад
Funfact: This even faster if you use a Tropius with pokerus. He is the only pokemon who learns Fly and SweetScent. He also gets Razor Leaf and EQ for clearing hordes. I use Tropius @ Wide Lens so Razor leaf hits everything. This way you only need one pokemon in your party for clearing, sweet scent, and fly. Btw, I only take out Tropius to EV train parties of 5, I've EV trained an entire box of pokemon this way, and Tropius is still contagius. I do use punching bags (use them without actually using them) to verify when an EV is maxed, and super train the last extra 6 EV's in a different stat to ensure everything is right (b/c you see the +6).

Does the exp share gives all the team the same evs? i mean if i kill those winguls with tyranitar with exp share ON, all my team will get 50 evs??? if they have equiped a power anklet and pokerus?? thanks for reply me :)
@StudiosOfWhite
@StudiosOfWhite 10 лет назад
I think it spreads naturally to the pokemon in your team, so if you have a pokemon with pokerus in your team and 5 other pokemon without it, it should then eventually spread to those 5 other pokemon. I does go after a while if an 'infected' pokemon is left in your party, so if you want to keep the pokerus, you just put an 'infected' pokemon into your pc and the pokerus shouldn't go. It doesn't however spread to the other pokemon in the pc. I may be wrong, but I think that's how it works.
@mayfirerose
@mayfirerose 10 лет назад
Yep. Its still in effect.
@smashaura4985
@smashaura4985 10 лет назад
Actually, they changed that back in the 5th gen. As long as the pokemon gets any kind of experience from battle, they also get the full amount of EV points gained from that pokemon. That's what makes Exp Share so helpful. Items like the power anklet only work for the pokemon that equips it though.
@imoutofnames1
@imoutofnames1 10 лет назад
It's just rare to get. The easiest way to get it is just trade for it specifically or just go to the GTS and keep trading random stuff until you get a pokemon with it. Also be sure to always keep a pokemon who is actively infected in your pc so you can keep infecting more stuff because after a while a pokemon won't be able to transfer it.
@imoutofnames1
@imoutofnames1 10 лет назад
Pokemon have a maximum of 510 EVs. Each stat can max at 252 in X/Y (it was 255 in older gens so you could potentially waste 4 EVs). So you can max 2 stats and put 6 EVs in a third. Or whatever combination you want. But if you aren't just maxing try to make the EVs you put into a stat divisible by 4.
@tackywacky99
@tackywacky99 10 лет назад
do you only need pokerus on the pokemon you are using to battle? or does it only have to be on the pokemon you are trying to ev train. because my blastiose already cured its pokerus.

@anzeg- 10 лет назад
Do you have to worry about over training your EVs? I know you can't overtrain (wasting 3 EVs if you go to 255 instead of 252) in super training, but can you do it here? Or does it stop at 252 now?

"You spread the pokerus by batteling, so make sure you spread it while batteling or ehm... i mean before, it doesn't really matter when" - shofu 2013 :D Great video, but you can improve EV-training a bit: Get a Smeargle (EVs: 252 SpAtt, 252 Init, 4 HP; modest/timid nature) with Fly, Surf, Sweet Scent and happy hour and level it up so that it can oneshot things especially in horde battles and give it an amulet coin. This smeargle is perfect for EV-training cause then you only need 1 Pokémon with the moves Fly, Surf and Sweet Scent which are needed for fast travelling and EV-training, thus you can easily train 5 Pokémon at once. Moreover it's perfect for earning money cause with the event-attack golden times and the amulet coin you get 4 times the normal amount of money.
@imoutofnames1
@imoutofnames1 10 лет назад
It's half the speed. It doubles the EV's. You don't need it, but it's definitely faster. So the horde he just did was 5 wingulls that give 1 ev each. Then the power item adds 4 to that per pokemon so each wingull was worth 5. Then pokerus multiplies that by 2 making it 50.
@galekitty
@galekitty 10 лет назад
well when you level up, all of your stats could go up. If you ev train a pokemon at a low level then the speed and attack will probably go up around 3 or 4 each level, while the other stats might only go up 1 or 2. the audino thing might of been a coincidence, because it doesn't make a difference how you level up after you're fully ev trained
@ThatOnePokemonKid
@ThatOnePokemonKid 10 лет назад
So, just to make sure. Only the Pokemon in front needs the power item to spread the EV's around? Or do they all need a separate power item?

About 51 with pokemon that yield 1 ev per stat or 26 with pokemon that yield 2 evs per stat. 1 ev yield stat pokemon horde -> 1 x 5 = 5 252/5 = 50.4 (don't necessarily need a horde to get the last 2 evs) 2 ev yield stat pokemon horde -> 2 x 5 = 10 252/10 = 25.2 (don't necessarily need a horde to get the last 2 evs)

i have a question with ev training. should your pokemons evs be spread out evenly thru out hp, atk or sp atk, def, sp def, and speed? or should u just max out 1 or 2 main stats and even out the others for a pokemon that can not only dish out alot of damage but also take a hit or 2 to stick around a little longer?
@cydashlee
@cydashlee 10 лет назад
ev training is maxing out 2 specific stats so that your pokemon can reach it' maximum potential. For example if you just received a adamant torchic and you want to use it for competitive battling, then you max out stats that would be beneficial to you.

Thanks Shofu. Very very useful. Though i guess, My preference would buy 10 of the respective drugs and ST one pokemon. But yeah, your method would be much easier. Macho Bracer for while. After Grinding Battle Maison for the respective EV hold item. Dang, 1 Horde Battle/ 25 EV. I did the math, Wingull = 1 EV, the EV Hold Item = +4 EV. Pokerus multiplies them by 2. that is 10 per Wingull, It should be 50/Battle. But damn, 25 is fast enough.
@P4Lutz

and if you want to keep pokerus you just have to put one infected pokemon in to your pc, because the time for pokerus to disappear would stop. furthermore you could also spread pokerus while your pokemons are in their egg so you could garentee that they won't get any EVs from batteling ^^
