Porcupine Tree - Arriving Somewhere But Not Here (REACTION) with my wife 

You've heard him sing before. This is Steven Wilson's band and you reacted to 'Routine'. I'm a huge PT and SW fan. Many thanks for giving this a shot. Love you guys!

Porcupine Tree is a group I've known for about 30 years, being fan since. A underrated band back in the days, but they became more famous 13 years from now. Seen them live very often and first time at Bataclan (1998) in Paris, as I'm French and leaving in Paris (before the terrorist attacks from 2015). Masterpiece after masterpiece I love them so much, and their leader, Steven Wilson is a genius, who is a workaholic as he has solo, and side projects (No-Man, Blackfield, Storm Corrosion, Bass communion…). Love Archive too and I can see the connexion, but for me PT and Steven are higher. I am astonished you don't already had made the Pink Floyd connexion, which is obvious, perhaps you need to listen to more songs. You juste have entered in a magical rabbit hole, the world of Steven Wilson. I envy you. Enjoy!!!

Such an amazing band live. And I love watching poeple discover them for the first time... It reminds me of how I felt the first time I heard them. And I agree.. it's beautful... all the styles mixed up still make a beautiful song.

Surprised you didn't see the connection between "Routine" and PT. Steven Wilson is the man who's made a ton of great music. Enjoying your channel.

Just an amazing band. By far, my favorite. Any of their songs live are worth a listen. Hate Song, Halo, Don't Hate Me, Mother and Child Decided, Anesthetize, Time Flies... So many to choose from.

They are sort of prog rock, lots of instruments and layering of music. I bought a Riverside CD off eBay and when I played it, it was Porcupine Tree. A happy find. I really enjoy their music.

Yup Archive is really cool and prog-rock type for some (many) of their songs, and Porcupine Tree is as well ! The main singer and leader is composing their songs as well and is named Steven Wilson, he does a lot of solo work and you already reacted to one of his song, Routine ! His solo work is also really amazing while exploring and mixing other genres, you should try ! :D And last but not least a little list of Porcuipne Tree songs you should check out if you liked this one : Anesthetize, The Start of Something Beautiful, Trains, Blackest Eyes... There is a lot more but it's already cool, all live from Tillburg ! (and that's only Porcupine Tree songs, i didn't recommend any Steven Wilson solo songs yet xD)

Just saw them live in Stockholm, Sweden last Thursday (27.10.) and man.. They played for three hours and such an amazing set and show!

So this music is called progressive rock. It needs top musicianship. And they are all great.

Oh, and check out PT's latest album - released just a few months ago: some true pearls on there, such as Of The New Day, Dignity, Chimera's Wreck, Never Have! Pay special attention to how fantastically bass and drums complement each other - esp. on Dignity.

This band is kind of hot and miss with me, but I will admit that Anesthetize is a masterpiece and Gavin is one of the best technical drummer while being extremely musical at the same, which a rare combination.

Yes, Archive, especially the earlier stuff, sounded a lot like this. Later they got too electronic for my taste, didn't like them live ;)

For me it's a mixture of Pink Floyd and Genesis (Gabriel). But with a slightly stronger sound...

Try ...Hate song... Live. It has a strong bass line!

I'm surprised no one told you on requesting this that it was Steven Wilson who sang Routine. I think it would have made it more interesting. There is no way you could have made that connection otherwise as the music is so different.
