Some of the positives things about me and my life that have happened because I'm trans.
I also discovered that I can barely say the word positive...

Something i have noticed from being around my trans friends or seeing trans people online Trans people can be really handsome or pretty before and after transitioning (or taking hormones) But after the transitioning they look even more stunning or beautiful Why? Not because they weren't beautiful before But after the transitioning (or prosses itself? Idk) They project so much happiness outside it so nice to witness :) It's like their whole beauty is shining through They look so calm and comfortable with themselves it's really enjoyble to see And i think it's related to all people, trans or not If people are expressing themselves how they see themselves in their mindset It so true and honest and beautiful All that is left to do is to sit and admire them for everything they have been through until reaching what they wanted ^^

@jamiebower6447 7 лет назад
KingFireDragon Nah, its not rude, or at least not to me. I think that you'd come off less rude if you'd ask your question with a bit more clarity. Your question was; "Are you a transgender male or female?" and that can be interpreted in two ways; "what is your birth sex?" "what do you identify as?" The first question is rude, the second one it not. I'm assuming you're asking me the second one, and I identify as a male.

I'm a pre-T transman, and I totally understand your number one here. I have a boyfriend and I've told him about my thought and my uncertainty about being a cisfemale. As soon as I told him, I instantly got bombarded with "my wonderful handsome boyfriend" and he's been so supporting, and I couldn't ask for anyone else.

One of my friends kept on calling me it when I came out to him so I thought he just wasn't accepting because I even told him them/they. Apparently he just didn't know how to use them/they pronouns and just wasn't educated. So if someone close to you doesn't use your pronouns or just disrespects you just talk to them because they might not know that they are being disrespectful and you get to educate someone!

I'm asking this because I'm very curious if I'm the only one. Has anyone else when they discovered they were trans felt in denial and felt that it was just a phase? It's really hard to explain. But ever since I came to the conclusion I've felt worried and scared and unsure about myself. Please let me know!
@ksolo5760
@ksolo5760 7 лет назад
I definitely get what you mean. I think it's pretty common: you have lived your whole life as a female (FtM) or as a male (MtF) and it can be hard to accept that you are transgender, at the beginning. It was exactly the same for me and sometimes I still get a bit insecure...then I imagine living the rest of my life as a female and I say "OK, just NO". Hope you feel less alone :)
@Everlostkibo

Yours Truly Yes. I was definitely in denial for about 2 years, but eventually I realized who I really am and what I need to accept to be happy.

i know that this is a pretty delayed response, but i recently discovered i was trans-about 3 months ago. it took me a lot of sleepless nights and panic attacks to come to terms with this, and the days when i still feel invalid are still shit, but the days when i feel valid as a man, i just feel so confident. the thing is that if you think you're faking it; you're probably not. i hope this helps :)

thank you for the support. my granny is super religious and tells me I'm going against her religious beliefs and her personal beliefs. she says she'll always call me birth name and birth gender because in her mind I'm always gonna be that. I told her that made me sad and she mocked me for feeling this way. my dad and mum as well as step dad are very supportive but still are learning new things about transgender people. my dad however keeps asking me to wait to get hormones and surgery as he feels that because I only came out last year and from what people can see I've only started feeling this way (this is untrue I've realised for a few years) that I should wait to figure myself out as I'm only young. basically invalidating my feelings because he's scared I'm gonna make a decision he thinks I will regret. Thus far I've just tried to tell him I'm getting top surgery and whatever I do down the line is my decision and assure him my age has nothing to do with my feelings. it's frustrating but it comes from a good place so I'm trying to help him to be more respectful of my feelings and choices.
@Ilikefrogs..
@Ilikefrogs.. 6 лет назад
Tell your grandmother that she needs to decide which is more important to her; her family, or her religious beliefs. If she decides that she loves her religion more than she loves her family, tell her she doesn't need to be involved in your life and you don't need to be involved in hers. Reinforce this strictly. You obviously can't bar her from family functions, but you don't need to be in any room that she's in, and you don't have to respond if she tries to address you by your birth name/with your birth pronouns. Believe me she will come around quickly within a few months of this treatment. Btw: Your grandmother is wrong. There is nothing in the bible/torah/qur'an that talks about trans people specifically. This has nothing to do with religion, this is about a lack of respect.
@astitchatatime8195
@astitchatatime8195 Год назад
Honestly I think emphasising to her that that is exactly what it is; her religious and personal beliefs, is the way to go. With the people in my life who aren't accepting, but I can't break ties with I tend to distance myself emotionally from (can take a while to emotionally get there) and it will help me not expect more of them. If they can't deal with my life choices that will remain their problem and I don't need to make it mine. For more complicated relationships with people who want to be supportive but seem to be held back by a lack of knowledge or understanding it can be harder to distance yourself (and often not even necessary), but that can open you up to being more hurt by their comments/actions. For that I usually try and identify what is causing that rift (in your case it might be your dad not realising how long you've been feeling this way) and I try to minimize it (if you haven't been able to, expressing to him how long you have felt this way and what that feeling entails exactly might be a way to do that). Sometimes you may still not succeed, but usually in those cases you can still tell they love you and want what is best for you (they just have a different idea of what that is) and I've found focussing on that can really help maintain and progress that relationship. Sometimes a bit of patience or both making a small compromise can really help (for instance you maybe waiting a bit longer to start the physical transition and them helping you through that process as support)

imaging my personality and social perspective if i had been born a cis guy… yikes. With all of the problems that came with getting socialized as a girl (started transitioning at 19 so I very much grew up female), there’s a lot of positive perspectives you get as well, that I would have missed out on growing up as a boy. There’s so much toxic masculinity that I’ve never been socialized to have, I’ve grown up in an environment where I was encouraged to express my feelings, I feel like I have more affectionate friendships, etc. When the day finally comes that I pass as male, I’m going to be a lot more sensitive to the problems that the women around me face than cis guys might be. In the end, I’m very grateful for the childhood that I got!

And I'm not saying I'm not proud of my personality and achievements, but if I could, I would 100%be a white cis hetero male. It's part of the reason why people who fake being trans upset me so much, because I hate it so much, being it myself. I'm hoping this video will help.

I'm only out to two people but I'm too worried about telling my older sister because I've always looked up to her, and always thought up until I realised my low self esteem was related to body and gender dysmorphia, I'd always thought I'd wanted to be like her and now she's getting married and I'm sure she'd want me to wear a dress and I really don't know if I want to... otherwise I'm pretty excited to start transitioning once I come out properly...

One thing I would say is it’s made me almost *more* appreciative of my body and how my gender is perceived. I’ve been on T for over two and a half years, but I still just stop and admire my reflection in the mirror sometimes. I know that makes me sound arrogant as fuck, but it’s not even because I think I’m attractive, it’s because of how nice it is to look in the mirror and see an reflection that validates my identity instead of negating it. It’s been probably over a year since I got misgendered, but I still smile every time the waiter says “and for you, sir?” I’m just over a year post op for chest surgery and I still run my hands over my chest all the time (in private, of course) just to remind myself how wonderfully flat it is. I’ve heard the phrase “gender euphoria” used to describe basically the opposite of gender dysphoria. I think cis people can feel gender euphoria, but I think the most intense and joyous gender euphoria is felt by those who have been carrying the burden of dysphoria and, through a social interaction or biological development, had that burden lightened. I still remember waking up from top surgery and seeing my chest for the first time, it was the most intensely euphoric moment of my life. I still have dysphoria. The fat distribution of my torso is still too feminine, I’m only starting to get some facial hair after over two and a half years of T (though I am 18, so it’s not too uncommon for a cis guy my age to not need to shave), and, most significantly, I haven’t had bottom surgery yet. I in no way think that the joy of gender euphoria is worth pain of gender dysphoria. I’d much rather have been born cis. But I do recognize that it’s not exclusively negative.

Hi, I've been watching your channel for a while now, ever since the start of 2017. I need your advice on something. Okay, so I have a homophobic and transphobic grandma but I don't know how to come out to her as bi and trans. could you help me or give me any advice on how to come out to someone like that?

DatGamer Boi Make sure that you are safe. Your grandmother is not entitled to know anything if you aren't comfortable with it, and if you think that coming out could go badly, either don't do it or make sure you have some kind of a backup plan just in case things don't go well. Something else you could try is testing the waters a bit, maybe mention any friends you have that are LGBT to her to see how she reacts. In terms of actually coming out, you could try writing a letter, and leaving it for her to read so she can process it, maybe? That might go slightly better.

DatGamer Boi Do it gently, testing the waters with hypotheticals first (not about other people, rather than there is something that is causing you pain and you would really like her support with, but not saying exactly what at first), but some people react differently when it's someone close to them than someone they don't know personally. It took me years to come out as pansexual to my parents because they're religious and casually homophobic in the way of people who felt it had nothing to do with them, and I was terrified of being ostracised... After I told them, they didn't seem to react at first, behaving the same way they generally did to the point I began to wonder whether they had just chosen to ignore the whole thing, and it took them a couple months to digest the issue, but now my mum, instead of pointedly asking whether I'd gotten a boyfriend yet, keeps asking whether I'd found SOMEONE yet, and my dad checks himself in situations when he would have told a homophobic joke at other times. It's a little difference, but it means the world to me. Your grandma may surprise you, or it may be as unpleasant as you imagine, but if she loves you, she may come around and grow as a person in the process. Wouldn't you rather give her that chance than live the rest of, possibly, her life with the doubt?

I dunno, she didn't have a good reaction to my dad and she said that she never wanted to see him again

I'm really glad that people are positive about their transition and themselves and I don't want to take away from that. All I know is that, while I'd be sad that I wouldn't have made the friends that I have, I would trade in every life experience that I've had in order to be born as a cis guy. Being trans has prevented me from doing so much and will continue to prevent me from following my dreams that I just can't be positive about it. I try to be more positive but I don't think I can. Either way, good luck to everyone.

Being able to sympathise with people of my biological sex is definitely an interesting perk to being trans, I can sympathise with women and understand a lot of what they're going through just because I used to always be so conditioned to a lot of their issues. Body issues kinda went with it >.> But it's a good thing I feel! It let's me understand more of what's going on with my friends and such!

I like the way being trans has made me understand women. Before T, when I was percieved by others as a girl, I was not aware of this at all. But 6 years after starting T and having had these years of seeing ”the other side” of society, it’s all become so clear. First thing I noticed when people finally started seeing me as male was that I was treated differently. Both by people I knew and complete strangers. Family gave me more responsibilities, they became tougher on me, especially my parents who literally reacted like: ”Great, now we have a man in the family, now we can step back.” To this day I am THE one asked to go to the bank etc because ”it’s not safe for a woman”... I knoooow it’s ridiculous. 😂 But it’s funny that people HAVE these ways of treating women vs men, whne we only look different on the outside. I am the same person, yet I’m treated differently from before. Strangers also showed me a new world I was not prepared for: Men started siding with me, like we were all of a sudden on the same level. Women started (this actually upsets me) MOVING AWAY from me, in some cases like out of respect or to not be in the way... and in other instances becase they don’t feel safe, which I totally understand with the kind of world we have. Elderly also started giving me this huuuge respect I don’t really deserve, lol. Not anymore than before anyways. I also realised I became ”invisible” after starting T, and what I mean by that is I could go out day or night without people really noticing me. When I looked like a girl I couldn’t do that. I didn’t feel safe, people (mostly men) had their attention on me, but also women judged me for some reason. I had to in some way PROVE my existence, my right to take up space and have my voice heard, yet I got no respect and were often treated like a stupid child, especially from older men. And that’s what hit me, that’s what I am now grateful for having experienced. That’s not only how I was treated, that’s how women in general are being treated and fuck that’s awful. So I am glad that I can now say I completely understand their point of view. I couldn’t if I was cis. Also the experience of periods and hormonal changes, moods, cramps etc. Knowing first hand what that’s like has removed the risk of me being yet another guy who makes fun of women when they have their period. So being trans and seeing lboth sides of the coin” is something I am overall grateful for, and something I really think cis people should be jealous for. Honestly.

I am also trans MTF and after watching some videos of both trans men and women is that after they come out to family and friends they are happy. It is like there is so much pressure off their shoulders. I am feeling that now myself.

an interesting thing ive been thinking also goes well with this video im not out to anyone as trans so i havent really gone throug the bad social stuff but i know that if ive have the choice of being born a cis male or magically getting a male body tomorrow id choose the latter me having grown up in the role of a woman and me activelly thinking about my gender and questioning gender roles made me realize a ton of stuff that i wouldnt have and if i was born male and i probably wouldnt be as open minded as i am nowadays so yeah, being trans make me who i am today and i wouldnt change that

I've been in a similar place. To me being trans has caused more distress than not. Regardless I still have been able to find some positive. Major one having an appreciation for my gender that cis folks don't often half... (Even at the cost at being hated and despised by a large portion of society).
