This is a full tutorial of how to operate the Majestic Dash 8 Q400 for Prepar3D v4.1. We cover weight and balance using the Majestic Dash 8 Control Panel, performing systems tests, start the aircraft from cold and dark state, take off and landing.

Im just amazed at the G-forces this plane can do as in barrel rolls, inside/outside loops. What else can this baby do without sheering a wing. Any hammerhead stalls? Snap rolls? Figure 8's? Who needs a biplane for stunts when you've got a beast like this Canadian bird.

I am just about to fly this plane for the first time. This video has been extremely useful for my preflight training. I'm glad you got the correct ILS freq in there ;) I think the ATIS info you got was not for KMSP but for KTKC. I am going to put your KEGE to KDEN flight on the to watch next list, thanks again for this very informative and easily found full tutorial.

i totally love the Q400..like flying from Big airports like Denver to smaller municipal airports..very good presentation, love the part about the weight & balance. I like the "follow me" car..and yes as you said..taxiing at Denver can take a while...very nice en route scenery..very nice approach...good landing...sweet video

Love your channel! No need to turn off nose wheel steering before takeoff, above a certain speed you have full rudder deflection with NWS on. This means you don’t have to remember to turn NWS back on when you land.

Also during climb reduce to 900 props, set IAS to 185, after 10k reduce props to 850 and set ias to 210 until reach cruise

Thanks, yes the props were retarted to 900, but you must do this only after 1000ft AGL, IAS to 185 will depend on your climb speed which will be affected by weight and balance. Looks like you use FS2Crew which is great, but not 100% accurate.

Enjoyed the video and needed the instruction for this airplane. I am also wondering how you got RWY 35 to be live at KMSP? I have tried to find airport scenery for KMSP on P3D v4.3 thru avsim and commercial products, I don't find any. I am a resident of Minneapolis and am bewildered why a program hasn't been written for RWY 17/35, for any of the versions of P3D.

Awesome video....I had a question about the JARdesign a330 .....so I originally bought this plane (x plane 11 version) on a mac, however now I upgraded to a better rig using windows, and I was wondering if I could still use this plane on windows or how to just do a fresh install of the plane so that it could work for windows....is that possible? Being from Minnesota this was fun to watch, people say Minneapolis/St Paul because the major cities are so close to each other (Twin Cities) technically KMSP has nothing to do with St Paul and the airport itself is located in Bloomington (Minneapolis Suburb) as is the Mall of America

Icing condition is only appearing when the aur is wet and cold, an really cold temp means that the air is dry as well so usually geyting into a cloud with a temp between -4 to 7 degrees is potentially dangerous

The aircraft doesn't have autothrust so you have to manually adjust the speed using the throttle lever

I'm no expert in the Dash, but a nice figure in the 737 is three times your altitude divided by a 1000, so say you're at 37000ft, divide it by 1000 to get 37, then time it by 3 and you get 111 which, if you don't have your TOD calculated automatically is the amount of nautical miles you start your descent, give it a shot

You can assign a keyboard button, but it would be very difficult.

Hello, Legacy is the first addon made by FJS and it is flyable but not on this level. FJS is working on a new version for Dash 8 called Q4XP which will be way better than Legacy and I believe it will be the same as Majestic Dash 8 for P3D. But as Q4XP is still not out we can't be 100% sure.

ChasePlane does the trick. For the Majestic Dash 8 it is disabled for some reason.

Am not able to put the aircraft into a cold and dark state. When I go to the control panel and click apply, it tells me to reload the aircraft to activate the changes, but hasn't changed. I have also tried reload user object without success.

Restart your PC. Don't load p3d. Go immediately to control panel. Set to cold and dark and click save. Start the sim and you should be in cold and dark.

Skyvector is also free and it is great to plug in your flight plan from sim brief to see it topographically and make adjustments. I love sky vector more than anything.

Assad Kansao For VNAV...go to VNAV page and click on VTO and select the first point before your TOD in the flight plan. You may need to adjust the altitude if not set in the FMS.

You have lots of mistakes in your flying . You took took with Pitch hold its always HDG GA ALT SEL . YOU CLIMBED ON VS, WHICH SHOULD HAVE BEEN IAS. AGAIN WHILE YOU WERE ON THR LNAV YOUR HDG BUG WERE WAY OUT OF YOUR TRACKS . WRONG WRONG . LEARN FIRST.
