Just ordered a restore. Looking forward to placing it along side my other wood and iron firearms from a time gone by. Ammo is tough to find but if you look and snap it up you can get it for about a buck 50 a round. Found another place that has some of the magazines for $85. Thanks for selling these!
Bought one of your last ones available in stock. Very impressed. Good function and handles well. I was super please with how good of condition the bore was. I think doing solid refurbishments on these rifle from Ethiopia that are in rough condition is great because it’ll preserve them longer for us to have this history and more over ensure for us, the customer, that they’re safe to shoot.
Received my MAS 1949-56 refurb yesterday. Some comments: beautiful new furniture. Metal parts refurbed and in great shape. Appears to dry function fine. Performed total disassembly (there is a RU-vid video for this). Findings: parts all looked OK except nick on the feed ramp (ground and polished it out). Gas tube had rust inside but appears to flow. Cannot tap gas tube pin out so it will be difficult to clean in place. Bolt and carrier had dirt in nooks and crannies. Extractor heavily dirty, probably would not have been functional until cleaned. Those parts will need additional sonic cleaning. Barrel interior heavily dirty and rusted. Took lots of cleaning/decarbon/decopper/polishing. It still has rifling but heavily pitted (as disclosed on the RT website). I am a gunsmith. Overall not bad, but it should be pulled apart, checked, cleaned, and re-lubed prior to any firing.

Where did these rifles serve prior to coming into ethiopia? On your website you mention another country in northern africa, can you comment on this and approximately when they came into ethiopia?
I happened to find some on Gunbroker recently. Also thru a source found on Ammo Seek. Challenging to find but keep looking and buy all you can when you find it.
Refurbished rifles? Bores vary from excellent to POOR. What?? You refurbish rifles with poor barrels. No decent company would do that. Thats disgusting. No shame.
I was going to buy a rifle from you. I looked at the Carcano rifles that rated to excellent for around 200. Then I read the reviews. Rusted, cracked, and what people felt were NRA fair condition at most. I figured who ever grades your rifles does not know what they are doing or if they do know what they are doing then you company is engaged in bad business practices. Either way I will pass on all your offerings.
