Omg, this is hilarious! I searched this out because a newer guy in my bjj class tried to use the pressure point behind my ear to try to escape my side control. It hurt for about 2 seconds until I moved my head and put him in an arm triangle. Pressure points are uncomfortable, but if I'm in mount ,or any other dominate position, I'm not going to give it up because you you're pressing on one. I wonder if that guy in my class watched this video. Seriously, it doesn't do anything but piss people off.

@@Onus6688 when those bj guys try thier take down shit on me i just lift them up off the ground and pinch thier heads off like a piss ant, my 87 lb girlfriend just dances around them and lets them fall down and razes them about how bj guys only know how to kiss the floor and thats where they should stay, you got to remember brazillian fussing(oh they call it fighting so they can beleive they are tough) was all about submission for a few seconds so thier gang leader (usually some priest) can penetrate your asshole with something! do your research the guy that started it was banned from japan for being a pedophile and raping the police captain's boy when he was teaching his inferior moves to the police. afterward they found it ineffective then trained in akido! there is never a reason to go down, it is to easy to keep a guy off you, and if you do just let the guy wear himself out then throw him off and start stomping they cant hold the hold more than tweny seconds or so unless they are EXTREMLY strong and even then i haven't had anyone my size (i am 6'9" 268lbs) even last more than forty seconds. what none of these pressure point guys tell you is how the internal energy is disrupted and causes the person problems later, maybe years later but i know i got into it with a guy from the gym that was always bullying the younger smaller guys, four points, he went out for sixtyfive minutes and seemed to always complain of a head ache until he died of liver malfunction (unexplainable since the doctors couldn't find a problem there during the atopsy) fourteen monthes later. of course maybe it was the meth and steroids!

Well, I would like to believe that they do, like cross facing......I just don't think that they study the art and or apply the technique...This is very interesting to say the least and I have already used it in my teaching curriculum....Nothing fancy but the arm points I find easy to use to set up for joint lock and distraction techniques. I'm no pro at his art for sure but find it to be pretty cool stuff .

Oh my. I’m sorry folks who think this useful, but if these techniques don’t work on a non-compliant opponent (real fight, live sparring) they aren’t useful. This is the same reason akido has limited if any application as a real martial art.

You know what the problem with critics are? They live in this box that unless they see something in UFC its not real to them. The lack of respect to instructors is disgusting. And therefore, don't understand true martial arts in the first place. As for there precious BJJ, i hate to burst your bubble but it doesn't work all that great on the streets either! Because it is focused on one on one fighting, and doesn't assume while you are trying to submit someone another may join the fight. So in a nutshell be a little more open minded and not overconfident in your BJJ. Thank you.
@navajanoir68
@navajanoir68 6 лет назад
It's because his knowledge of groundwork, posture, and positioning is fundamentally shyte, as well as his "understanding" of how leg grabs, clinches, etc are supposed to work. He has zero understanding on how to do leg grabs, clinchwork, and how others would attempt to do them to you, even people who have no official training but just are sloppily trying to take you down. You'd have a lot of trouble pulling any of this shit off, let alone even find the opportunity to. His "mount defense" is absolute horseshit for "self defense situations" let alone "grappling situations," which he claimed *in this video* you can use in both for. If he pressed my "pressure point to turn my head, what's to stop me from grabbing his hand and pulling it off me, or setting up an armbar on him for stupidly reaching up so far from the mounted position? I can "turn my head" and my body straight into an armbar from being on the top mount position. So in a nutshell, he doesn't know what he's talking about, and those of us who've practiced BJJ, wrestling, Judo, etc. can see it very clearly. That naturally brings into question his martial arts skills , and overall fight knowledge as anything other than delusions or fraud. Also, BJJ has a far better track record for helping practitioners survive street fights and other life or death situations than these bullshit arts.
@thedroidish
@thedroidish 6 лет назад
Christoper Enck I appreciate that. Everyone assumes BJJ is the ultimate art. They don't look at what it's designed to do.
@tommym321
@tommym321 4 года назад
I don’t understand. Why is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or Mixed Martial Arts not “true martial arts?” Are you saying that a “true” martial artist is required to accept everything as valid regardless of practicality or usefulness? There are tons of videos on here of “instructors” who claim to knock people out using just their energy...are we required to “respect” those kinds of demonstrations? Whatever a “true” martial artist is, it shouldn’t mean abandoning your critical thinking skills.
@tommym321
@tommym321 4 года назад
And moreover, I got news for you...if multiple people are trying to kick your ass, you are in serious trouble. There is NO martial art that realistically can prepare you for such a situation for the simple fact that it’s impossible to train in any sort of realistic way. BJJ is not the “ultimate” of martial arts (no style is) but at least the training consists of executing moves against people who are not only giving you as much physical resistance as possible but who also have been learning the defenses to those same moves (I.e., the techniques are not “tricks” that only work on people who don’t know anything). Nothing is the “perfect” martial art; some are better than others, some are better than others depending on the situation, and, regrettably, there are some that are completely useless.
@paultaylor4032

@@tommym321 The reason is because they are sports, designed for a ring with a referee system to award points, UFC is about the closest you get to street fighting but even then UFC has rules, there are areas you are not allowed to attack because you can cause death "true Martial Arts" if there is such a thing are just for training to build up strength, speed and accuracy and also to provide a test of one Warrior compared to another warrior without resulting in death. From a self defence point of view most victims that are referred to us by the Police were in fear of their life when they were attacked and had no idea what to do but there is no blanket response of do this and you will defeat your attacker every time, this is why we focus more on situational awareness and avoiding putting yourself in a position where you become a victim, obviously there are times you will need to use aggression so we teach certain methods of inflicting pain to either incapacitate your attacker so you can run away or restrain if someone is immediately coming to assist you, certain Pressure points will work to distract your opponent long enough for you to get an upper hand over them, on the other hand your attacker could be caving your head in whilst you are trying in vain to attack a pressure point.

Curious why you guys cant see how any of these pressure points wouldn't work? I know all the keyboard Gracie jitz commandos on here are loling all day, along with the high school grappler that follows the ufc like its the bible of fighting? Think of it like this... When you trap an arm or leg on the ground, with your shin " for instance"... whats to say this wont greatly help with setting up your sub? From experience (sadly a div I wrestler/cop beat my ass) i got my candy ass handed to me... Ive never been in so much pain during the grind, than when this grappler used his shins n chin on said points.. did they sub me? nope! but man did that shit hurt and make my mind consider (unwillingly) wtf was that and them BAM, tap on the other side of the body.

+bob h pressure points aren't illegal in most grappling, some hurt some not, but most of the ones in this vid doesn't hurt. If you can put a thumb on your opponents face, you can crossface the sh** out of him instead and it would be by far more efficient

everybody's negative on this stuff BECAUSE if it really works, (which i beleive) it would totally destroy BJJ. for real. the problem would be that nobody is probably that well trained in it and instructors are just that, instructors, they are not fighters because it just doesnt interest them. teaching is what they do. but someone who learned this and had the killer instinct, then BJJ would become obsolete overnight. for real. after all, acupuncture has been around for 5000 years and it works, same priniciple as acupuncture using pressure points. same principle as dim mak, or dian xue.
