She's the definition of a lesbian who's forcing herself to act heterosexual bc of the time period, the more I think about the more I'm mad that this movie didn't give us gay princesses. It would've fixed almost all the problems the movie had if Charlotte had been the one Tiana ended up with instead of Naveen.

No gay Princesses for this movie, may I suggest Naveen and the Bi Princesses. Tiana gets her restaurant, Charlotte the Princess title, Naveen (feels slightly like a player and) is with a girl who inspires him to be a better person and a girl he can relate to and party with.

Kaleem McIntyre that’s true, but I think a lot of people tend to forget to realize with animated family films, they’re only usually an hour long with a few more minutes to spare. I guess these companies believe kids don’t have that kind of attention span so some things are cut or half-assed but I think they ought to add more time to explain things a little more. It’s like with the first Frozen. If that movie had longer time (like I believe we all thought it would because it’s like an epic) there could’ve been more fleshed out for the story (sort of like the Broadway Musical... sort of).

Unless your ‘successful’ and the money came from your parents, then you started the business yourself with no help.

Magic... has so many loopholes. and yet can be surprisingly finicky.

The spells cure doesn’t have any technicalities. The issue is with the title of Princess, Charlotte is technically a Princess but only during Mardi Gras, Tiana is a Princess after marrying Naveen. The only confusing part is why Tiana turned into a frog but Charlotte didn’t, best I can figure is Charlotte had pure motives and Tiana was bribed.

@Laffi Taffi But the whole point of her story seems to cultivate in that you need someone to complete you instead of completing your life's goal. The prince never really changed, he remained a prince. You can say that he stopped being such an asshat, but he's still singing and dancing his way through the movie. Even his being a prince doesn't change and actually ends up being the reason why the movie ends happily. So what is this telling the audience if not, Tiana's dream didn't matter, she just needed a man in her life? And think about it, how where they going to live if he didn't just so happen to still be a prince? Answer, in literal squalor. How long do you think Tiana would have been happy with that? Never being with her mother or friends as a human but with this lackadaisical guy who doesn't have a care in the world.

@Laffi Taffi OMG FINALLY SOMEONE GETS IT. i always took away from this movie that you need to have balance in your life. tiana would've worked herself to death if she didn't realize it's okay to have other people to lean on and naveen would've been cut off if he didn't have a major focus in life. and as far as the spell goes, i feel like mama odie knew the ending would be the way it was and that they would end up human again. they were never going to just be frogs.

@@ryannthegawd But that's her choice. Why take that away and replace it with having fun she doesn't want? No one seems to be on board with Tianna doing what makes her happy, which, even in the movie, she was shown to still want to work, even when she owner her own restaurant. It wasn't like she wanted it just to have it. She wanted it because this is what made her the most happy.

@@shaesullivan I disagree, i believe tiana wanted the restaurant, because it was her dad's dream. One that he passed on to her through telling her how great a cook she was and by telling her all his plans when he got the building. When he died tiana didn't want his dream to go to waste, so she kept up the work. It's why her mom gets angry at her for saying that she wants her dad's dream to really mean something. Everyone is telling tiana throughout the movie that love is important, but she keeps pushing it aside to work more to get the restaurant.

Tiana would just be considered their business partner owning a restaurant the “couple” has invented in. Tiana and Charlotte disappear from the public’s eye a time or two, it’s reported that Tiana was staying by Charlotte’s side during particularly tough pregnancies, in truth it’s Tiana’s hidden pregnancies. The three of them were probably married in the swap by Mama Odie.

I understand that sentiment but as a business student asking for loans is a fairly common business practice. Not because people are lazy, but because the longer an idea is in development the higher that chance it might not make it to market. Movies have ingrained this idea that if a business owner doesn’t save up every penny to open up shop 100% on their own, they’re not as hardworking, but balancing loan payments, keeping interest in mind and making sure to work investment connections is equally important.
