I got a 2016 FXDLS.. I really need to get me some front suspension.. I can't afford the fancy cartridges so I'm thinking of just getting patriot genesis springs with preload adjusters

Buddy recently put in the same springs and said he loved the upgrade. Stiffer and better ride than what he was used to. I will also be picking up some preload adjusters as well to try a heavier preload in these springs as I feel it may make it slightly closer to where I'd like it. Are you still running the OEM fork springs in the FXDLS? Cheers and appreciate the support Tyler!

@@ConnorFXDB I have heard pretty awesome feedback from people running the genesis springs with preload adjusters, especially for around $350. Yeah I still have the stock setup in my fxdls, cartridge on the left fork, spring on the right fork

Just found your channel. Nice dude! I’d like to get an extra 3” of ground clearance on a 2019 fxlr (not s). What set up would you recommend to do it? Ideally inverted front forks. Thanks in advance my dude. Awesome vid!

howdy Jorge! nice! Team FXLR! for inverted you could look at the FXDR fork tubes (you could do FXLRS triple trees and uppers) with a 1" extension. My buddy at Twisted T Industries has the FXLRS and ran FXDR tubes and the extra 1" extension on the front - you would want to match the rear similar since youd have a longer front rake and itd handle a little more difficult with whipping it into a corner. For the rear you could snag yourself a custom 14.5"-15" rear monoshock from RWD (but some frame and swingarm modification is necessary if you run the stock swingarm or can buy a speedmerchant aftermarket one) I am running a 14.5" rear and did the same. You could search CONNORFXDB MONOSHOCK and it should pop up 2nd or 3rd video down

I did not. I had them on the dyna. I found them on ebay but dont believe they are selling them any longer. For the m8 I just ran STOCK dyna tubes so it gave me a +2 as the m8 softails are 23.5" vs the stock dyna at 25.5"

howdy and thanks for watching! Yes in the future I am! I am also looking at upgrading my 11.8 front rotors to 13" As well as going with inverted gsxr front end with 2" drop trees but thats some ways off. Thank you for watching!

I’m new to the Harley world were your forks 39mm and you converted to 49mm just by replacing the tubes? Or were they 49mm to begin w. Thank you!

great question Trevor! and welcome! What Harley did you get? The fork tubes were 49mm prior and 49mm after - the difference was going to be the length I changed to get the added +2 height I wanted. You cannot swap from 39mm to 49mm and vice versa without changing the triple trees. Lmk if you have any questions or you can also message me on IG @connorfxdb . I ended up getting and 01 fxdl. And I’m looking to heighten and stiffen the front suspension. Other than that I love the bike!

@@ConnorFXDB just added the same springs and + 2 damper from trackerdie, i called progressive and they told me to cut the spacer flush to the tube 🤷‍♂️ I did 1’1/4 will ride it later to see how it feels

2 years later….I have 19 FXLR and you’re saying to get 2+ all I need is stock dyna tubes with progressive springs and that’s all I need?

yessir! you could still run the stock FXLR Springs but will probably need a longer spacer inside - I just opted for the dyna length springs as well since i was going with dyna tubes

Is it 26 oz per tube or together for fluid?

for DYNA Tubes yes. If you're running OEM m8 tubes check your manual for the specified mm amount from the top of the tubes when compressed. I believe its 160mm (or 200mm I forget)
