Hey excellent advice. I’m finishing my 347 now. Afr heads, rpm air gap , Comp xe282hr and I found out about melonized distributor gears. I have an msd distributor with steel gear and figured steel to steel until I read an article this morning about someone wiping out their cam.

This may sound like a dumb question, but I'm still learning distributors and carbs, on my BBC I have cylinder #1 on compression stroke, balancer set to 15°BTDC, marked the distributor like in your video for the #1 plug with the rotor on the distributor, when I install the distributor is the rotor lined up with the mark supposed to be facing the #1 cylinder? Or can it face more towards the front of the motor? I guess my question is is there a difference if the distributor is moved a tooth on the cam as long as the rotor lines up with your mark on the distributor? Thanks for the advice!

So is it the same process with HEI? I just welded the weights to full swing but now I have NO power what did I do wrong???? ( Help)

On a stock 302 would I stab the distributor at 10 btdc or '0' ?

Will this method work if the distributor is locked also

Be nice have an addition to this system to not only provide a hotter spark but also replace the ICM on 93-97 LT1 engines. The LCM on this cars are so unreliable.
