Thanks for the tutorial! I’m in dental hygiene school and we have to have a neat bun. Btw, opening bobby pins with your teeth can damage your teeth so I would try to open it a different way.

It's just my scalp that hurts though. Been considering just chopping it all off into a short bob cut again, but I kind of have a personal reason for keeping it long now. It's halfway down my back, and I kind of don't want to cut it again but I'd rather have healthy short hair than long damaged hair. My scalp is in constant pain when I put my hair up, no matter how much I try to use these protection methods.

I have curly hair too! But I feel like it’s gotten bad (damaged and dry) because of the bun (wearing it daily) and the gel... any tips? Do you actually do a bun daily? I am Navy so I could prob get away with a messy type but I just don’t feel like that looks professional 😭

I’m in AFJROTC and I LOVE drill. I commanded in a competition my first year. (JV Unarmed). I messed up so bad. Anyway I might try one of these. My hair always messes up during Raiders.

I discovered that if you mix honey and water you can use that instead on hairspray and it’s a hair mask so it’s not damaging your hair and it’s healthy for it , but it could be sticky til it dries it’s fine when it dries but if you do it and wipe down around the hair where the spray went then it won’t be sticky I’m gonna do that in JROTC next year

It looks like really good quality and non damaging...and you did a beautiful job! But it seems there is no way to pin the donut itself to anchor it. The foam kind you can push the bobby pins through it. I wouldn't want to do that on satin and damage it. So other than multiple elastics. (isn't that damaging?) IDK about you, but just pinning my hair ends down without them anchored through the donut, will not hold it! Are you happy with this product?

Do you sleep with the bun for a few days then take it out? I'm joining the airforce soon so I really want to know
