In general, cakes are usually high in carbs and fat, with very little protein. At HIITRITION, we've played with this recipe a bit. Following our motto of MEASURABLE, ADJUSTABLE, and SUSTAINABLE, we've come up with a base high protein cake mix for everyone. This means you can easily make pancakes, cupcakes, microwaveable cakes, cookies... whatever baked goods you can imagine. Just adjust it for what you'd like! Here are the ingredients:
1 scoop of a protein powder (your flavor of choice)
10 Just-add-water Pancake Mix
5g Baking Powder
40g Unsweetened Apple Sauce (may want to use more to make it even more moist)
1 large egg (or 2 egg whites, or liquid egg whites)
Optional: cinnamon and artificial sweetners (for 0 calories added)
Instruction: mix it all together and use your tools of choice to make what you like!
Have carbs to spare? Add in some frozen or fresh fruit or flavored greek yogurt! Have some fats? Your favorite nut butter is a delicious topping. Maybe some chocolate chips or broken up pieces of candy!
