Hey Nastasia, I broke up with my unbeliever boyfriend recently because I felt he became an idol of mine. He loves me more than anything, he planned to marry me. I love him too, but I felt that i totally forgot of God while being in this relationship. So i faced all the pain about to come and broke up with him. I felt so empty without God and the blessing of having a loving boyfriend became a curse, because I quit seeking for comfort in the Lord and my boyfriend became the source of all comfort. Right now it’s bad because I don’t have my boyfriend and i dont have God either. But I did all of this just to get closer with God again, so I hope I did the right thing. Nobody around me understands how can I leave such a loving relationship, that’s why I am writing to you, if you can tell me your point of view and if you get what i am saying. 😊

Btw I tried to get closer to God while I was still in the relationship, but it was impossible. I felt I had all I ever wanted and didn’t need God anymore, so I had to cut my boyfriend off completely.

Hi Nekoj, Just wanted to let you know that I understand what you mean completely. I am in the same situation as you rn however I'm still in the relationship with my boyfriend who is an atheist. All things considered, he is amazing however in loving him I find myself losing my relationship with God, turning towards him for comfort and joy and happiness instead of the lord and it's difficult because I want the relationship to work but I cannot deny that being with him takes me further away from God instead of toward him. I know I have to end things but I REALLY don't want to. Currently praying for the strength to do what I know is the right thing. I wasn't looking to fall for an unbeliever, it sort of just happened really, But the bible is clear on this topic and obedience is not always convenient or fun. I have a feeling I will very soon experience what you are feeling right now. I praying you find your way back to the lord.

@@princessbaatshwana468 thank you so much for your comment. I get you totally. I believe everything will work out for us if we put God first, and that is the only decision we will never regret. Praying for you and others like us to not be afraid to take up our crosses because nothing compares to the joy that is coming in heaven with Jesus.

Nekoj, I want to commend you for being so brave. It might be painful now but you are choosing to honour the Lord and He will bless you. You may not see it now but you will. I have been a Christian for 40 years and I've seen so many get married to unbelievers and in many cases their marriages were filled wth loneliness (going to church alone, not being able to pray together, raise children biblically etc). And it was always the believer who made the compromises. It is a hard road, I suppose that it why the scriptures tell us to not be unequally yoked. He truly wants to bless us with a beautiful union. God bless you sister.

You're one of my favorite Christian RU-vidrs, you've always been down to earth and very relatable. Not always talking about where you're traveling and how much you spent on a makeover and superficial content, but the good, real, and deep stuff. Don't get me wrong, some fashion and makeup and lifestyle content is fun- but I just feel like you're so real and we even share similar tastes in music and Bible approach. You share your struggles and you show us how to lean on Him through it all. May God bless you and your family as you wait on Him ❤

I think doing exercise and taking care of our body for it is the temple of God's Holy Spirit is great advice! As a matter of fact, I have been ignoring this principle for way too long. Since I work from home and live in a rather boring community, I haven't been around people much lately. This resulted in me caring less about my appearance than before and, in turn, about my body itself. Now I need to realize that going back to eating healthy and doing regular exercise like a well-organized person is more of a way to honor God rather than some optional and self-centered thing.

When I have anxiety I go to the word of God and saturate on a few Bible verses saying the bible verses over and over every time I have a thought of anxiety this technique takes your mind off of anxiety and onto the word of God. I just repeated a Bible verse and also pray. This is a tip i learned in biblical counseling.

I was the one who asked about the first date tips. LOL This video came out much later than my date, but it's good things to keep in mind. It was the first date I had ever been on (with anybody) and I was so nervous. Thankfully, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it also wasn't as "life-changing" as I thought it would be either. Afterward, it was a no-brainer for me that this wasn't "the one" which was surprising since I'd always thought the first guy I went out on a date with would probably my future husband (since I'm twenty-four and had never been on a date prior). Though things didn't work out, I'm very glad because God taught me a lot through it. Especially about how grateful I am to be single now and what a gift that is. Thanks, Stas, for your tips! (By the way, I felt like I divulged way too much about myself on the date because I had no choice. LOL He didn't suggest we leave the restaurant for three hours and I had no other talking points than stuff about my life. 😂 Would love for advice on how to end a date early without being rude.)

I would be really careful with getting an aussie. My daughter is not gentle with our mini Aussie/mini heeler mix and now he is not a fan of her and we are having to re-home him. 😭

Your explanation and research in general seem feasible. But as a person who knows Greek language and studied ancient Greek as well (and the Bible in original language), I can say that the word Eros (έρος or έρως) was never mentioned in the original scripture (I mean New Testament, since the Old Testament was not written in ancient Greek). The meaning is quite right, but the word itself was never used in the Bible. Even if you read the Old Testament in ancient Greek or in Greek language, you will meet the word agapi (αγάπη), but never eros (έρος). The 4 types of love you mentioned are taught in the theological schools. From the language perspective, these are just normal words which have direct translation to English. For example, Filia (φιλία) literally means "friendship". We don't say "affection towards friends or love to your friend" in English, we just say "friendship". The same is for other words. In Greek language the word for love is Agapi (αγάπη) - just normal word, not meaning only love of God to the mankind, but love in general. We say "I love you" using this word (Σε αγαπώ). And yes, from the word Eros the English word "erotic" comes from. And goodness Eros in Greek mythology was there hundreds years earlier before Christ was born, not talking about appearance of the New Testament. So, the goodness Eros was there, the ancient Greek language was there, there is no word "Eros" in original New Testament scripture... Where did you make research then? I am just interested because I cannot link what you say neither to the Bible nor to the Greek language. No offense ❤ We Greeks get very sensitive when the words from our language are getting twisted 😊

Go read the book The Four Loves by C.S. Lewis if you'd like a more in depth study of what I was talking about. He explains it way better and in more depth than I could in a single comment. It's a great book too!
