They are pseudonym’s, used to conceal their real identities, maybe out of some misplaced loyalty or more likely because there is no reason to name them and potentially cause problems within the jail or be held liable for slander/libel as they are unsubstantiated claims.

Hell yes. As Shaun has stated several times, prison is like High School, but dialed up to 11. When I was a freshman I was 5 foot tall and weighed 100 pounds soaking wet, but I was never bullied, ever. Why? Because throughout my life I had several opportunities to save my own ass if I ratted people out, but I never did. This builds a reputation as a stand up guy. I even saved a couple people's asses when there was a "situation" and they needed an alibi. I also had friends where we would back each other up no matter what and against anyone. I had people call me out a few times and you always come out swinging. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but you never run away or people will know you are weak. It is not about being the absolute toughest, but people have to know that even if you lose they will get bloodied for calling you out. Then I grew 10 inches in 18 months or so.
@stabgod
@stabgod 5 лет назад
@@urmum7461 True words. Growing up in the "hood" the rules were eerily similar. You always fought back and fought hard, period. Fights were rarely fair. It's always you versus a bunch of guys, or you versus a really big dude. Your street reputation was the most important thing you could have. Everyone knew if you could be pushed around or if you would fight back. Word gets around. Doesn't matter if you are big or small, people don't fuck with tough guys. If you bitch out and don't fight back, everyone knows you are a punk ass. All the new thugs in training will use you as a practice dummy, and neighborhood females will humiliate and slap you around in public for being a pussy. Your only option at that point is to move far away, or commit suicide.

Damn U.S prisoners would LOOOOOVE to get in to Finnish prison.. Well, fuck, even i want to go back there sometimes. Free gym, food is better quality than schools, own tv's and gaming consoles, no violence, no rapes, guards are really damn nice, we actually know most of them by their last name and consider them almost our friends. I don't know not even one murder in what would have happened in prison and only two cases of fighting which was punch or two and that's it.. Some people say it's way too easy especially when you get around 4 - 6yrs for Murder. Rape = Not even prison usually etc etc... Somehow we still manage to keep them away from crime when they come out.

Basically unpaid debts and some other minor stuff. Pretty much a vacation, i know a lot of people who are in prison so it was nice to go see them. They don't want out because it's so nice in, no stress and they get paid pretty well too about 6$/hr and if they are in "open jail" it can get up to 11$/hr and top of that they get approx. 160$ from the prison.. If they don't cook ( you can buy ground beef same quality as in normal store etc etc ) they just save the money and use them on drugs or whatever when they get out.. There is this small group who use the system like this but when it comes to "normal" crimes and criminals usually they don't return to prison.

U.S. prisons are terrible because they're run like a business. It costs the government less money to give prisoners the bare minimum to survive within those walls. And when they get out (if they do) they go right back because people go back to the same broken communities and commit the same crimes. Instead of rehabilitating inmates both during and after their prison sentence, they're left to fend for themselves. :(
@tanker9987
@tanker9987 6 лет назад
They do get rehabilitated in a sense. Most of these people came from poor families and have poor education, chances are their criminal record from petty crimes was already ruling them out of 99% of jobs they were even eligible for. Prison is an opportunity for these young adults to get in contact with shot callers and build a type of resume that they can use when out of prison to find a source of income through criminal activities instead of the welfare state.

The system just seems to make them way more voilent. I should add this stuff needs to be reported and talked about and Im glad you are.
@Ucanchokeonit
@Ucanchokeonit 4 года назад
You ever hear the saying "You can lead a horse to water...." This is exactly true about cons. You can make available all the rehabilitation resources the world has to offer. But the vast majority of minority offenders don't want to rehabilitate. They don't want to stay straight. The problem starts at birth and by time it reaches the states desk it's too late. You wanna focus on rehumanizing efforts? Go to the ghetto and start with the crackhead mother and the nonexistent father. You fix that problem and you've solved half of the "inmate" problem.

What is the probability that you dont get any time added to your sentence or get in trouble in prison

So Shaun how do you feel about global legalization of hemp/hemp based products? And if we can take it that far... how do you feel about legal recreational lsd, we already have strong evidence that there will be medicinal mushrooms for people with ptsd... just a thought maybe you already made a video about your feelings as they relate to the current laws but I am curious so I will continue searching your channel.

I work with an ex prison gaurd, i love hearing his stories told from a pov on the other side of the bars. It makes me glad to be a civilized gentleman. Reminds me to take verbal attacks with a pinch of salt.

Male prisons operate under seemingly strict heteronormative parameters, but which are actually deeply-ingrained homoerotic imperatives. The gay closet is a dark and dangerous, ignorant wardrobe.
