That contractor story is one of my favorites so when this video popped up in my suggestions again I will listen to it excitedly. While scrolling the comments I found out that there were more updates to the story so I went looking it up only to find out that the guy who wrote it died. That's so messed up and I guess and I hurt so much for his wife and family and all that went on involving the story. He didn't deserve it and that's so awful and so sad. May he rest in peace.

After an organization move, someone had left a box marked "Basura". One of the planners spent an hour on the phone and computer trying to locate an employee named "Basura". He was informed that it's Spanish for garbage. Lots of laughs.

I'm retired now but worked in a building trade in the UK most of my working life, I was a pneumatic controls commissioning engineer, there were only about 20 of us in the country, I have been in some situation not too unlike this guy but never as spectacular, well done that man he deserves an Oscar!

As someone who used to be mistaken for an employee, I can relate to sooo many of these. Nowadays it rarely happens, and the last time I didn't even realize the mother was trying to get my attention before her daughter told her "mom, she doesn't work here!". I did get the mom's "oh, sorry!" in a tiny laugh. I smiled and kept walking.

Two things happened after the last update, from the account MOSTLYGRUNTLED, RSLASH covered in this video. First, Gobshite was fired and kicked out of the company by his three or four brothers after Gobshite hired an employee who unknowingly botched the repairment of a historical building by destroying an old historical wooden structure, that held the building together, and replacing it with a different structure, replace the old wood from the historical building with the wrong wooden material, and carved the historical building with the wrong style of carving. This led to Gobshite and his brothers company getting in trouble from the city or government and the brothers made the decision to strip Gobshite's part ownership to the company they co-owned as they viewed Gobshite as a liability to the company. Second, this is the sad part after Gobshite was canned, the wife of MOSTLYGRUNTLED posted in her husband's account that her husband tragically passed away from a car crash incident and after hearing the incident from the wife, David was sad and depressed that his friend passed away to soon.

I had this at a job I was a guard at. only 6 folks in the province could do the stonework for the coachhouse/walls that needed to be repaired as they are historic. Now this retired gentleman was paid to unretire and 150 a HOUR to do the work with his son, and this was almost 2 decades ago. Owner of the property was never happy that this retired differ was doing the work but he was told it had to be done *right* or else pay some staggering fines and forced to redo the work right ;). Only guy on the site that never rushed and always smiled cause he knew his job was gold bonded..I admired him for that.
