Story 3: Glad to hear the stepdad was chill and had a good laugh about this. He is probably incredibly embarrassed that his wife is doing this all the time, so when OP did what he did, he figured this was the chance for his wife to take the damn hint and stop. XD

When they said zero tolerance, they meant zero tolerance for standing up for yourself. In high school, I watched a girl get shoved down the stairs and get absolutely whaled on at the bottom of the stairs, and the APs did nothing to keep it from happening. But I smack one guy in the back of the head who's been tormenting me and my friend in theater tech the entire semester, and suddenly they're trying to press charges on me bc I had enough of him harassing us and no one would do anything about it. I didn't even hit him that hard, but I guess if a guy decides to torment an autistic girl and she retaliates, suddenly she's a threat and needs to be detained. My mother had several words about it and they dropped the case. That guy never did mess with me again though.

It makes me wonder what has to be done for them to focus on the bullies. It might make middle/high school safer if potential bullies thought there were actual consequences for it.
@Spectere

I actually have to give my high school a ton of credit for handling at least one incident like this well. One of my classmates was getting bullied relentlessly by one particular person. Finally, he'd had enough, whipped around, and knocked the bully out cold in one punch. They were both sent home while the administration reviewed the school footage and took statements (this happened during a class change, so there were a ton of witnesses). The following day, the bully wound up getting suspended for a week and the person who defended himself was not punished at all. To say that everyone was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. Granted, this was back in 2001-2002, so I really don't know how things would go down now.

I’m sure thats something they can laugh about Comment: We all have a junk drawer Fourth Story: All that man had to do is be patient. Now he has pay a lot of money for 2 brand new tires Fifth Story: That is not only revenge, that is holding a grudge. $200 for 6 hours of babysitting is absolutely insanity Sixth Story: After years of pranking OP, OP finally managed to scare her brother so badly he stopped pranking them Seventh Story: So this guy has a well paying job but still made OP pay for everything and was too cheap to get OP a decent engagement ring? Lol man I am so happy that my parents never try to rearrange my stuff on their own. Although they did do something similar once but it was genuinely one of the nicest things they have done for me as an adult. I was living in an apartment about 2 hours from them and was going to school full time and working on the weekends. I was telling my mom how overwhelmed I was and how I hated being in my home because of how messy it was but I didn’t have the time/energy to take care of it. I was driving to work and almost in tears from how tired I was. I couldn’t even make myself food because I had no clean dishes or space. I worked my shift and when I got home my entire apartment was spotless. Her and my dad had driven down and deep cleaned my apartment. They did the laundry, the dishes, played with my dog and just made the place beautiful! They didn’t rearrange anything. It was just so perfect! It still fills me with warmth and love years later.

My mom has also bought me some plants she thought would go nicely with my other plants, which was very sweet of her. Other than that, they don't really interfere with my apartment, thank god. Kinda weird to try and control a 30 year old mans appartment. My landlady has also given me some suggestions, like my mom has. She says i do pretty good decorstion and matching durniture for a man, but it never hurts to have a woman's touch since they're generally better housemakers, which is usually true, and I'll generally listen so long as it doesn't come at the cost of utility or convience, lol.

The Doctor Who one was golden. A little more context for that episode: They suggest that the silence had been living on earth for potentially hundreds of years, coaching humanity in a certain direction. They manage to defeat them by tricking one of them into saying "you should kill us all on sight" and feeding that footage through the Apollo moon landing footage, subliminally ordering their own execution without humans even realise they're killing them. They often hide on ceilings in groups and it was a common scare they did whenever they appeared

On the last story, I guess we should amend the phrase “never mess with the IT guy” to “never mess with the IT guy or a welder”! Bravo, OP!!! On the jump scare story, reminds me of a funny story from my youth. My younger sister loved to tease me. She and another girl were in my sister’s bedroom one night watching Psycho. Not being into scary movies I opted out. I lurked by her door for a few minutes about an hour into the movie. I waited silently for the swell of music that precedes something scary is about to happen. Here is where I pause to share, the door had long since been damaged and no longer latched closed. So it opened with a gentle push. When I needed to knock on her door, I made it a habit to hold it closed via the doorknob first. I assume you all see where this is going! Yes, I waited for the music to reach its spooky heights, then shoved the door open with both hands, yelling. Both girls jumped and SCREAMED! All 3 of us were laughing very hard! It was pretty awesome!!

That silence story wouldve been amazing if they went up to the bathroom, got the tally marks, then screamed, and when they came to investigate and ask "what's wrong?" Look at them and say "I don't know" with the tally marks clearly showing, that would definitely be a 10 on the scare factor XDDD

Man, that ring story. She didn't remember it until a decade later, and yet she's been living rent-free in that man's head all this time. Is there a label for this kind of revenge? Low-effort, but high-reward.

If you can break the ring out of the box you can marry this man. You really shouldn't ignore the warnings of how well the box is made.

My mom took it upon herself to clean my toilet when she was over last. She used paper towels instead of the cloths I usually use for cleaning, and she dumped them in the garbage can right next to the toilet when she was done. The fumes were basically a biohazard to my sensory sensitivities.

One thing I absolutely know is to not mess with trades people. I listened to a story about a toolbox being welded to the topside inside of a warehouse. My educational degrees are in other areas. But I have a welder and I could make your life miserable. I promise, my welds will not be pretty, but they will be effective.

Some nosey people will voluntarily move things around and reorganize your things to cover the fact that they were snooping. Instead of one or two things being slightly out of place and therefore noticeable, everything is out of place, making nothing stand out. I had a sister like that. If/when something turned up missing, she would say she didn't see it while she was "cleaning," so "you must have lost it."

$200 for 6 hours comes to roughly $33 per hour. The average hourly cost for a nanny/sitter in the US is $20 per hour. I’m curious how she put her billing together, for $33 to be her “cheap” rate, or if she just pulled that number out of her behind.

I really don't understand parents who go into their kids houses and mess with stuff. Is it a power play thing? Is it an infantilizing thing? I'm really struggling to understand. My mom barely likes cleaning her own space and she has enough respect not to touch my stuff when she comes over. Heck, she never even touched my room as a kid. I find this behavior so weird.
