First story: All of you owe an apology to the coworker who said he was suspicious of the boss's covid

First story. I notice that OP and the team never apologized to the team member they ganged up on, who turned out to be correct.

The story of the boss getting fired for lying about being sick is exactly why you don’t abuse the system just because you want time off, and if you are going to do it, at least don’t do anything that’s going to get you caught.

This man is insane, I’ve been listening for over a year and he consistently uploads daily, but not only that at the same time every day! I love you content keep up the amazing work!

yeah, I noticed this weird thing with revenge stories. Some on prorevenge are like "I made my neighbor's morning paper wet!" And then some pettyrevenge is "I got my boss fired from his job" These people need to learn to pick the right subreddit

As someone who’s lost both parents in September of this year to the virus, two weeks apart, that boss is disgusting.

It's times like that second to last story, as to why I say go to the police first, then the school. The school won't likely do anything about it, but if multiple women go and file charges on the same guy in a small enough time frame, common sense says that guy wont be on the streets for very long. Or on the other hand if you don't think the police will do much, I always encourage women especially to carry SOME kind of personal protection. (I.e pepper spray, a taser or most effective a gun. Keep in mind I'd you choose that last one, you have to know how to use it, and have to be willing to use it.)

I was on a reality show -- I was even the 'star' of my episode -- but it didn't lead to any sort of recognition, except for being 'spotted' a few times while out and about. But this was back in 1999, so I think it might've been before social media influencers really took off? If enough people wanna know I'll name the reality show.

So that one coworker everyone jumped on was right. Hope everyone apologized to him.

I remember hearing the second story on the news many months back! When I heard them say “boys will be boys” on the newscasts, I was like, “what? That is a horrifying philosophy.” And sure enough, it was, because it was used as an excuse to justify sexual assault. It was an extremely messed up justification, and the celebrity parent endorsing it was messed up beyond belief. Sadly, I don’t remember any of the finer details, but if this Reddit story was covered when it was widespread in the news (the OP probably waited to post it until the story was “old news” for this exact reason), then this post would have blown up and been all over social media.

The college story: You would not believe how much being a rich alumni buys at a college. 😫

About the 'reality show can improve your social media career': it can also backfire a lot; We had a famous youtuber who appeared not only in one, but two reality shows here in Brazil. Not only him participating was a massive bad timing (his wife was pregnant, and gave birth while he was on the first one), his actions during both made him actually lose views and followers.

I hope a time comes when we will treat people equally under the law and no longer base it around wealth, status and fame. Way too often do I hear about celebrities or their relatives face legal trouble, yet it's almost always brushed off because of the element of fame and being able to bribe or buy their way out of trouble, even with social activist movements fighting to rightfully gain justice against these upper-class criminals. If someone is filthy rich, slap them with legal fines percentually proportionate to what middle and lower classes would have to pay on top of any other sentence they may get, just to teach them that their money isn't an insurance against the same crimes that the average Joe would be figuratively crucified for.

story 1: The Employee who said the Boss was faking was right and everyone gave him the cold shoulder shame.

If the boss is gone on to a reality TV show where was on an island. He would have been for sure having some kind of a tan or nothing else sunburn that would have been like a dead giveaway that he wasn't home quarantine because of covid. Busted in 5 minutes.

The deal with lying about going on tv reminds me of something that happened where I’m from. Coach from survivor lied and said his mom was super sick or something so he had to take leave, then when the college he worked at found out he lied about it they fired him.

I honestly hate how the "boys will be boys" line is so ridiculously abused. That line should be excusing minor rambunctious behavior that children under 10 do, like unable to quietly sit still, or wrestling with each other... like puppies or kittens or really any other animals do when their young.... NOT to excuse bad behavior like bullying, beating people up or... Se*ual assault?!? What the actual eff?!? That line was used to my parents when older boys at my elementary school would bully me and beat the stuffing outta me on a daily basis. The teachers and principal all shot out that line as though it were as obvious as the sky is blue. But to use it to excuse THAT kind of behavior??? It makes me sick! Someone needs their member hacked off... Not cut, not sliced. Hacked. With a dull instrument with multiple whacks... And with no numbing agents!

When I was in high school, I had a teacher disappear for several weeks and we had no idea what happened. Our student teacher (a college student working at a school as a teacher under another teacher for guided experience) took over the class for that time. When she came back, my teacher was like "Guise! I was on a reality show!" She had to tell administration to get time off and ensure coverage with the student teacher, otherwise there is no way she would have been able to do this. That was 10 years ago, and I can't imagine anyone just disappearing like that (and using Covid as an excuse) without getting coverage.

I still am in disbelief that this man since 2019-2021 (somewhere around there) he has been uploading at the same time ever day, and what brought RSLASH to us was overwatch!

Your follow up after the reality tv boss story added a LOT of depth to the story I'd never considered. I'd wondered what he was thinking,too. This gives insight that makes sense to why he might try this. Still... It's a big chance to take, and he paid for it rather than getting paid. As he deserved.

The expansion for podcast scaling is exponential, the further you go to the high percentiles, the faster it grows. And similarly, if you start at the most profitable podcasts and go down, it rapidly declines.

The beta tester story reminded me of when I worked for a small business that beta tested online games for small companies. We were hired to test this one MMO, and I and four others were given access. The game had multiple glaring issues (fixed items with hit boxes that didn't need them, hit boxes from those fixed items that covered up interactive objects, multiple graphic glitches, etc.), and our team logged every one we came across every day for three days. Then, when we tried to access the areas outside the "newbie zone", we were told we had to pay to do so. WTF?! We were hired to beta test, and they wanted *us* to pay *them* to do a job for them? Insanity. When I approached a moderator in the newbie area to speak with them, I was told "get lost, I'm busy". Translation: "Stop bothering me while I flirt with this catfish in a female avatar." I took a screenshot, complete with their message and moderator tag, and diligently logged it in at the end of the shift. The next morning, our boss had us all join him in a voice chat and he told us our contract with that company was terminated. We deleted our sensitive information, and could no longer log in to that game. Less than two months later, that company went under, and the game was never released. They blamed us, and yes, we were responsible for them being publicly outed as a low-quality game company with zero customer support, but *they* were the ones responsible for providing a low-quality game and no customer support, so... not our problem. I think of it as saving many gamers from a horrible experience. Some heroes wear glasses. 😆

And all the gifts that liar boss got...he should have to reimburse EVERYONE.

99% of social media so called influencers have absolutely diddly squat to say that I would be even vaguely interested in. The management in that first company is terrible. First the guy is off for 8 weeks and they don't appoint someone to fill in his absence causing the project to be severely delayed. Then they try to force ridiculous team.building shit OFF HOURS on employees.

My boss works from home due to covid while the rest of the team has to come in. She refused to have her work line forwarded so we all just call her cell. Whenever someone needs her I will give that number out. I was informed that it's against company policy to give out her personal number. So basically she doesn't receive calls and she doesn't have to actually do much supervising and we get to deal with the complaints of people who literally just want to speak with a supervisor, but cannot because she won't respond to emails for days. When we call you can hear her driving around taking care of her grand baby etc. Not that she shouldn't, but we're literally slammed with special projects and are down 4 people on a 15 person crew constantly due to work from home mandates for people that we desperately need.

So based on this persons reputation you decided to steal from them and destroy their property, because you thought they deserved it. That’s fucked up.

I think the office boss figured he'd win, and then who cares. He's rich!

Minor petty revenge story of my own--think of it as a "bonus," I guess, since I don't have a reddit account. In college, three other room-mates and I lived next to some Grade-A d-bags. To give you an idea, in the winter, we had a friend who'd come and plow out our driveway (could hold two cars) and the spot on the street directly in front of our house (could hold two more cars) for us, since there were four people (and four vehicles) living there. These tools would avoid parking in front of their place, instead trying to park directly in front of ours, even though those plowed parking places were logically "ours." They'd simply smirk and say that it was "a public street"--which was true, but if they'd simply been nice about it, our buddy would have plowed them, out, too. They'd literally shovel snow onto our driveway whenever they did shovel. They'd have bass thumping at all hours of the day and night (both their house and vehicles), engage in drunken arguments/fighting that spilled out onto our property, leer at our girlfriends and make stupid comments as they came in, etc. We frankly just didn't like them. Our landlord promptly sold our house out from under us that winter, and the new landlord was going to raise our rent by $400 when our lease ended. We had about four months before that happened, but decided that we were moving. My room-mate owned a fairly large dog. Even though we never used the back yard for anything, he was very meticulous about cleaning the dog crap up. As soon as he found out we'd be moving, he stopped. I wouldn't figure out why until later. Spring time came, and with the Spring thaw came the exposure of everything in the back yard that had been covered by snow. The entire yard was CAKED with dog crap. It wasn't that big to begin with, but there literally wasn't a single square foot you could step in that wasn't occupied with huge dog turds. The day before our lease ended, the new landlord was going to be doing a walk-through to inspect for damages. My room-mate knew that that was the time to strike. An hour before the landlord was scheduled to arrive, my room-mate called us into the back yard, presenting us with shovels. I believe either all or most of the d-bags were gone at that time because of their various schedules. Over the course of the next 30 minutes, we simply scooped up the dog crap and slung it over the fence into the d-bags' back yard. None of them owned a dog, lol. Our inspection went off without a hitch, we all got our security deposits back, and we all went our separate ways. I have no idea what kind of consequences came from our actions, if any.

The first story has a major plot hole. Mid-pandemic, while everyone was being quarantined, the boss decided to go film a reality TV show, except… filming productions came to a complete halt during the height of the pandemic. That also included all reality TV shows in mid-production. 🤔🤔🤔

One of the terrible parts of the story with the student ID card is that if OP had been caught using the butthole's card, OP would likely have faced stiffer penalties than the butthole did for assaulting people. Good on OP that OP too this revenge though - butthole deserved it (and more, but OP can only do what OP can do).

if you're salary, then overtime is generally uncompensated above your regular salary, unless the overtime is really high. I forget the federal threshold. I get the 1st op, but that's what happens when you get salary.

When the story of the singer's son was being read, and the father's response to his son actions (beating people up, and what he did to females) was "boys will be boys". What flashed in my mind was 2 or more males relatives of the people the son had done stuff to, got together and beat the son up. Then when the father demanded legal actions on his son's attackers, have the prople he is talking to use his own words of "boys will be boys" I will say now, before anyone starts on me for what I just wrote. No matter how great it would it feel at the moment to do that, please don't take justice in your own hands.
