The last story has an update from BORU. Guy got FIRED fr, and he messaged the friend saying he wasn't being serious etc, etc. OP got some comments criticizing him for taking advantage of his position and stuff, but honestly the walnut brought it upon himself. OP was just a catalyst.

Story 3: I dunno how this guy thought it was a good idea to threaten Revenge P**n when he was easy to trace. Like, this guy is going to be thrown in prison because he was bitter over a break-up and wanted to ruin his ex's life, some people really don't know how to handle break-ups
This is nothing. I just heard a report about a woman who went in front of a city council and literally threatened to visit their homes and murder them (her exact words) if they didn't do what she wanted.

Sending anyone nudes these days is such a dangerous thing to do. But that doesn't mean I'm blaming her for what he threatened to do. He was a slug who deserved every bit of that justice.

Her sending nudes was probably from thinking, "I'm nervous but he likes me and we're going to start dating, so why not?" Sending nudes is indeed dangerous, as it's hard to know who will never share the pictures (no matter what happens), to the other extreme of sharing them just because they don't care about anyone but themselves. I've had nudes sent to me (some that I didn't even ask for) and have never shared them with anyone. My reasoning is that if I ever wanted to ask if I could have more, it'd be much easier if it was known that I could be trusted. Never worried about getting in trouble for posting them out of revenge because I never saw sharing them as an option. But yeah, even sharing with someone who would never share them is risky because... how do you know that they won't share them?
The blackmailer should've been glad OP was just a friend and not the sibling of the woman. That would have landed on Nuclear revenge. A sibling would have informed the FBI, and when the scammer was away for the trip, informed the employer and the local law enforcement. Oh, and his mum.

Story 2: It's one thing to deliberately not pay rent for no reason, but it's another thing to not just go back on your agreement, but even steal. And this arsehole tenant is a Christian pastor, so he even broke one of the Commandments. I guess he's one of those "Rules for thee, not for me"

When I was a GM(in the 90's) for a mid-sized manufacturer, our landlady wanted us to put a $40,000.00 to $60,000.00 roof on HER building! The rent was already high, and we had the building insured(of course). We never put a new roof on. The owner of the company I worked for shot himself, so no more business. It's a shame, it was very profitable. I kick myself for not buying it out back then. Rip Joe.

My dad's a property manager and he deals with these people all the time mostly poor people because he doesn't want to be discriminatory but they all end up being the same way. They leave almost everything they own except for TV, mattresses and a few other items in the rest they'll leave behind. We have to go to these people in small claims court all the time. And he's way too nice he always lets people have furniture from people who left it there before or well let them work for him to pay off rent which they never do. I tell him it's like all the time you have to be hard as nails and make these people appreciate the housing they have.
Honestly, NOT all landlords are assholes and people really need to stop lumping them all together. I've yet to have an asshole landlord, of course I dont live in the US which seems to be where a majority of the stories come from.
Second story, I'm surprised OP's father didn't threaten or just go straight to the police. He would have had pictures before and after the tenants and the tenant's information. It should've been a slam dunk
Often more expensive to go to court, as USA you have to pay the lawyer, and might not get your coasts awarded to you, even if you win. So instead he used the one thing that would work, the employer, who would make good the damage, and those now forever are going to be known as a bad pair, so, in the gossip friendly world of organised religion, they will be shunned completely going forward. There it is all right to steal from the flock, but you do not steal from the wolves who shepherd the flock of sheep. They will give you the share they deem, after taking their cut.
Last story, OP sent the company the revenge porn plot but that wasn't what got the guy fired. Revenge porn isn't necessarily a thing in other countries and even so, it can be denied since a lot of texts and things can be photoshopped. If that was the extent of it, the company could easily sweep it under the rug. What got the guy fired were the shots of his work computer. That can't be photoshopped and it was a clear breach of confidentiality. The company had to fire him but if it got out why, then customers might question if their data was compromised. So the revenge porn became a convenient excuse to fire the guy.
The Vault - Fun fact: the bank vault is still there because it's literally set into the foundation. It's the second thing they build in a bank, the first being the aforementioned foundation.
@@robertaylor9218 Yes commercial the law is a lot less for the lessee, they are assumed to have done due diligence, and to have had qualified legal help when doing the transaction, as there are so many things that can be in them. Things like you need to replace walls, or that you can remove the walls you built, or even things like you can remove a roof (golden arches has that as a standard, the roof is a trademark they own, and it goes with the franchise) or even that you have to return the premises empty, and clean, with intact walls.
I have to believe that part of the reason that the landlord never got the place rented was because he's not a good person and not just because of the bank vault still being there.
My friend and her boss were kicked out of there commercial space given very short notice and had seven sheriffs come in to make them at the premises wouldn't let them take any of their computers or nothing and ended up losing all of it now it's still the same business but different owners. It was a thrift store that served the very poor community. But they're not going to make it anyway because they only are open 3 days a week from like 1:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon how are you going to run a business like that in a small space like that?

I’ve never attended a church that provided housing for the pastor. That’s only in the Methodist denomination that I know of. So, no it’s not common practice.
I call BS on the revenge pron story, if they had only stopped after tracking the guy back to his company and sending proof of blackmail but it had to go overboard with his license plate and private company info. Very “and then everyone clapped” vibe
I dunno that last one.. I wouldve waited until he was on that flight to contact his employer about all that.. but already weeks in advanced arranged the FBI to intercept him when he landed.
Final story, I hope the company didn't fire the guy right away, but instead worked with OP to get him to the USA first, then fired him once he made it through customs and was on US soil 😂😂
About the church thing. They usually let them stay in a house on property here, but you quit or get fired you're out. The alternative is just a slightly higher pay rate. My particular church is very small, and the pastor gets paid very little. It's actually more symbolic than a wage.

I though for the first story he was gonna find some way to rip that vault out and use it in his new restaurant. I know it would have been expensive. But malicious compliance would have been great. You want it gone, sure thing.
Either that, or some sort of trickery with "changing the locks" being taken to mean changing the vault door's lock too. I have no idea how much it'd cost to change the lock on an antique bank vault door, but it has to be almost as expensive as getting the thing removed.
The best scam I have ever pulled is selling 1000 boxes of Cocain infused pickled bananas to an online scammer for $1250. I didn't collect as I was not sure of the legality. If I had I would have donated it. P.S. The cocaine infused pickled bananas were the most messed up product my brain could concieve on short notice.

Even a few high profile cases where they were caught in bed with underage children, and had to flee the country. see Shepard Bushiri as a recent one.

Second story. This is an example of a reasonable landlord, because there are some scummy ass tenants out there. To top it off, it was a PASTOR who allowed this crap to happen.
