There's a RU-vid channel dedicated to people who leave their cars in no- parking areas with blatant signs, verbal warnings, the works, and look _shocked_ when they come back to find their cars towed. I think it's called GTOgre?
@@luvondarox Almost, it's GTOger. Drumbeats! They haven't posted any towing videos for a couple of years, but a few months back they did post one of an angry pedestrian attacking a landscaping tree.
I would guess he probably would have been if he hadn't moved from that spot when he did. It varies by city, but typically street sweeping starts between 7-9 am. I'd hazard a guess that if he was still parked by that start time his car would have been gone.
@@ryanf4497 You're most likely right. To shed a little light though, there's probably a good reason the car wasn't towed. I worked for a few years as a mall cop and speaking from experience, most security is handled by third party companies. They are on the property owners payroll and thus follow directives from the owners. One of the more common ones was "If someone is breaking a law on private property, it's still a crime. Let the police handle matters that involve the city." So we had a good working relationship with the police. They'd assist with theft, parking disputes, and anything violent. I bring this up because In this case, OP is demonstrating a good portion of the same behavior. Chances are they have a directive in place that prevents them from towing without the property owner's permission, or to let the city handle the towing because while the property might be private, the city still owns the street where the vehicle was parked.
Story 1: This story is quite literally the definition of "That's not very cash money of you". He lost so much money simply because he didn't want to repair the windows which would've been cheaper. Now that's just being a dumbass tbh.
The Big Al story is hilarious. OP was too nice. He should have demanded AH tax paid in cash. Big Al wanted Harry to stroke his ego and in the end he got the final stroke.
With the last story, from my understanding, you don't just get a citation for drunk driving, you also get arrested. So not only did he have thousands of dollars in fines, he also had to spend a night at the local jail. I hope for his sake that he didn't resist because that would be another criminal charge
Last story: The tally wasn’t $2,100, it was $2,100 *AFTER* the police, but when the parking enforcement came around the second time for street sweeping duties, he probably wrote another 2 tickets which now equals $3,090 *PLUS* the DUI.
Story2: Harry should be sentenced with at least community service. But frankly, I have no sympathy for Big Al. He saw the flags very early on and did nothing about it.
Story 2: Rslash has done this story before. That said, I don't think I ever noticed the name of the poster. I found it interesting for a couple of reasons. 1. being that it's a nickname people used to call me when I was a kid, in attempt to bully me, because my last name sounded similar. Anyone who knew me though, knew I had two older brothers, and had been called much worse than that. 2. I am in that same line of business for the last 30 years, which is one of the main reasons I remember this story being covered before. I thought to myself, "I don't post on reddit, and I've never come across Big Al. Who out there is trying to pilfer my life?"
I had a really crappy landlord when i lived in a different state, there was no lease signed or anything. We lived there for a good 12+ years. It was just kinda done under the table. He didnt want to fix anything, so things gradually got worse. I had a roommate move in for the last 4 years due to not being able to afford rent alone. He was lazy and didnt wanna pay rent, so i wasnt able to make him leave so i left due to the landlord not wanting to help me get rid of him. Well i found out he ended up having to come out 20k$ to fix up the apartment so he could rent it out to the next suckers. We weren't allowed to have pets, but i found out through a friend that the people moved in had a dog. Not that i wanted a dog but a friend came over with a dog to hang out and he made a fuss about it.
Last story: sad to see that nothing was done about this man visibly harassing several women. Of course it’s not OP’s job to deal with him and he was at least punished for the car, but I wish they had called the cops not only for the tickets but to ask them to talk with the man to stfu and get the fuck away from these poor women.
First Story: Al seemed to be a good buisness man but I bet that Harry will destroy this company because Harry is super incompetent! Al will loose everything, if Al keeps Harry employed!
When someone says something about how aggressive ticketing is, instead of cussing them out, one should be asking: How bad are we talking here? Some places are scary bad if you do not follow the rules.
Story 2 "he lost a lot of personal relationships with contractors due to Harry's idiocy." I strongly disagree with this statement. It was clearly Big Al's idiocy that lost those relationships. Either Big Al knew what kind of guy he put in charge and was okay with it, or he should have. Clearly those relationships weren't as important to him as Harry was.
This is why I follow no parking signs. My ex almost got my car towed because he was getting belligerent and demanded I park in a “no parking” zone. When we got back, there was a tow truck loading up another car. If we had been 10 min later, my car would have been gone. I asked my ex if he would have paid the towing bill (no) and informed him that next time, I’m not parking where he wants me to park no matter how angry he gets.

In my city if you're parked in a zone that becomes a no-parking zone because of peak hour and bus services there will literally be multiple tow trucks on each street stalking potential victims. A ticket is the least of your worries when they take your property and charge you for having it returned (after having to travel to where it was stored).
Rslash, that isn't just 2100$ and drunk driving charge. It also has the ticket(s) from parking enforcement due to street cleaning day as well. I wonder what the total amount was.
I hate that they let the guy go on his way after having video evidence of him sexually harassing women on camera and possibly trying to roofie them. They cared more about petty revenge than the women's safety.
First story: Part of this story makes no sense. Either the guy was the owner and had to pay out of pocket, or he worked for a company and they company paid. An employee is not required to pay out of pocket for mistakes made at work. They have laws where unless some specific things happen, employees aren't personally liable for things they do at work. I don't doubt the story so much as the detail about the guy paying anything out of his own pocket.
2:14 I am very happy that here in Germany the loser of a court case basically has to cover all the costs. Including the necessary expenses of the other party. Although there is a fee schedule for lawyers, so it can't be as ridiculously expensive as in the USA. I was somewhat surprised to learn that this is not common practice in many countries.

Yeah, I had a landlord retaliate the moment lawyers were mentioned. The owner of the house when we rented it sold it to a new family, new family decided “No, we aren’t honoring your contract. You pay us $200 more per month.” When I said “Our lawyer will contact you,” the next day there was a dated letter in the mailbox saying “To whomever it may concern, the rent will be $300 more per month.” Left a huge pile of trash for them in the middle of the living room.
I'm surprised that OP didn't get a letter stating what was going to happen in terms of his new landlord situation as well as maybe a rent change that was a little bit lower than the last time. In order to make sure they don't get sued more by OP.

Wait, I think the math is off on that last story. It's a quick couple of lines, but OP says that "Sunday was street cleaning day and the BMW was getting ticketed again by parking enforcement". That would make me think that another $90 and $900 ticket were added making the total $3090. Just my thoughts.
Dang! 2nd story was so disappointing! I was hoping that OP would refuse to even discus handing over the data until after being paid in full, then after getting paid OP could refuse to give the files over because they didn't have a written contract, and he could then gouge Harry for another 50% or so.
2nd story: Imagine ruining a business partnership(s) because 'Hurr,my new employee is in charge of this type of thing now". Like,mf, it took you a YEAR to realize 'maybe this imbecile who I hear complains about all the time is NOT a good employee'.
That last story... I bet I know where that place is. There's a youtube channel that shows off people getting their cars towed from a very obviously marked loading zone, because the place is near a lot of night clubs, and the tow truck drivers patrol that place religiously. -Edit- Alright, not the same place but damn funny regardless. Hey guys, this story about parking enforcement near clubs is a perfect example of how men are not trustworthy. The op in the story and his work buddies all watched this guy creep on many women and didn't actually step in about his treatment of women. Op probably just didn't even think about it but honestly that's the fucking problem. Men need to call out other men on shit behavior especially toward women, not only when women are watching to get brownie points. I'm trying to feel good about the revenge bit tbh they let so many women get creeped on before doing a damn thing and they don't have to but it shows how our society still sees this sort of treatment as not worth stepping in and stopping. Op did well but.... was it too little too fucking late?
Last story, sure guy was intentionally being a douche, but this shit happens ALL THE TIME to people who do it BY ACCIDENT and it is a poverty tax. When I lived in a city with alternate side parking (for snow removal purposes, so valid) i would watch the parking enforcement vehicle sit at the end of my street waiting for the 7:00AM cutoff for moving your car, and then hand out THOUSANDS of dollars of tickets to my neighbors, some of whom worked graveyards and had only been sleeping for 2 hours. I HATE this kind of bullshit, it kills poor people but rich people can ignore it and not care. Also, cops do this to everyone, not just slimy guys hitting on girls.
Agreed. But these guys weren't cops. It's weird to also think all cops are the same even if they were. These guys have the same area of street to deal with. They are fairly nice about it too. And you know how A-holes transcend income and jobs. Some people are intentionally using laws to do more harm than needed. And some are more lenient and willing to listen each individual out. At the end of the day, this story had nothing to do with what you're describing. People who live in the area know very well that area is a drop off and loading zone. It's the party crowd that ignores the rules. And this mega dunce had it coming all the way. Don't park in obvious off-zones.
With the last one: OP mentioned that parking enforcement gave Douchebag more tickets after 5AM. Let's be 'generous' and assume PE gave him another 2 tickets for his dogshit parking for the same reasons (parking in a loading zone + a handicap spot without a permit), so tack on ANOTHER $990. So that means Douchebag has earned $3090 in fines BEFORE the drunk driving charges

What I want to understand is, what was Harry sucking that made Big Al so loyal to him? Was he Al's nephew and if he fired him the wrath of his mother and Aunt would come down on his head?
