Today On Radio Free Mormon, RFM and Bill Reel dissect Elder Oaks October 2018 General Conference talk from Saturday Morning. In this talk Elder Oaks uses logical fallacy after logical fallacy and bad argument after bad argument in defending his Anti-Science prejudice and his Anti-LGBT bigotry. This 15 minute minute talk was a brilliant attempt to entrench the Church in stances that simply don’t hold up to the data and facts. Elder Oaks arguments are full of holes and unlike Ensign Blair’s ship, this vessel of a talk sinks faster by the minute.

If the church gets worked up over anonymous sources, then shouldn't the church name names in its faith promoting stories so that others can fact check their faith promoting stories?

Does he have a previous ruling as a Judge that has a dog in this fight? It's also unclear to me why a Judge would teach to ignore evidence of fact, even in gospel/spiritual matters, unless the evidence is not favorable as a defense and you need to suppress it to direct a jury away from it.

Do they practice that weird ass way they pronounce “Gaaaawd” Is there a standardized mandatory intonation of certain words? Do they sit around a table and practice and a red light and buzzer or green light and soothing bell declare compliance. You would really have to be trying to sound so ridiculous saying some of the words they all do.

Isn't an appeal to authority a logical fallacy? So, is Oaks saying that religious appeals to authority are okay (because honestly, their claims aren't substantiated by evidence), but secular appeals to authority are not okay? Okay Dally boy. Keep on hating.

Oaks has made so many hurtful and discouraging talks and remarks. As a disciple of Christ… he should be more caring. His language is so passive aggressive. It’s a huge “I love you… BUT! Or IF “ugh That’s not love
