RFM today attempts to start his General Conference review but only gets as far as the first talk he examines…. Elder Soares talk from Saturday Morning. At this point RFM is stopped in his tracks as he encounters a flooding of connections and thoughts related to how Mormons are trained to sacrifice their authenticity in order to always make the Church look good through faking happiness, faking competency, faking family life, faking joy at the gospel and service within it. Faking Faking Faking. So today Radio Free Mormon goes off the rails to address WHY MORMONS ARE SO FAKE!

Nothing irks me more than when my TBM siblings humble brag about their sincere testimony of the church and invite me to partake of the spirit. Can’t remember the last time they asked about my life.
@amygreen758
@amygreen758 Год назад
My siblings don't even know where I work, what kind of pets I care for, my hobbies or what my children do. They are conditioned to only talk about themselves. It's a church that creates self-absorbed people.

@@amygreen758…..That church is led by narcissists….it attracts narcissists….and creates narcissists. I never felt comfortable or ‘accepted’ in that church. I tried and tried to ‘fit in’…..but just became more depressed and felt like a failure. After I found out about all of the lies and contradictions within the church, it all started to make sense why I could never fit in…..I am not a narcissist. I was truly trying to do ‘the right thing’. I wasn’t aware of how many people lie to get along in the church. I thought that lying was bad….you know….angels in heaven are silent notes taking? But if you are a narcissist, you have no problem with lying to ‘fit in’. And of course, there are the even bigger lies that the church has been doing their best to cover up….but then with the Internet…..oops! Lies like what had been kept from most of us, but is now on the churches own official website, the Gospel Topics Essays. But the Gospel Topics Essays read like stereo instructions in some instances….so Jeremy Runnells CES Letter gives a more easier to understand breakdown of the Gospel Topics Essays. And don’t even get me started on the churches own Journals of Discourses! People would use quotes out of them in their church talks….but no one ever references the more horrorific writings that are in them! One of the many appalling things that are in them, is Joseph Smith’s rant/boast, starting at the bottom of page 408 and continues to the top of page 409, in Volume 6 of the Journals of Discourses. Yeah, I’d like to see that quote read over the pulpit and see what the reaction in the pews would be! Things I wish I had known MUCH sooner!

I'm dealing with this myself as a former Mormon who left after 50 years. My siblings are the most hypocritical people I've ever met. While I live abroad to stay away and safe from them and the sick culture of Utah, they continue living unethical business lives and the party continues. I'm done with all that.

I’ve been a member for 36 years and before I discovered the truth of the church it always baffled me how members would act at church and during home teaching, but if I ever saw them in public they were a completely different person: distant and unhappy. 13:15 this is something members do without even thinking - they pray that we will gain "understanding " or find truth, but what they are really praying for is that we'll return to full belief. It inhibits honest communication because we don't want to hurt them by telling them we still have doubts, or worse, that we don't believe at all. I'd love it if members were taught simply to love. No secret hoping that we'll become like them; no silent pity for our fallen state; no gaslighting or manipulative prayers; just love.

Oh my gosh! This has been my hope for years! The only reason my family still talks to me is because of this secret hope that I still believe. As much as I want to shatter the delusion and be authentic, my love for them outweighs the urge to tell them the truth and lose them, so I play as nice as I can.

I grew up in the Church. My parents made no effort to understand me and my life. I was less active for a period, but eventually served a full-time mission and have since served in several different callings. My 2 siblings are no longer involved in the Church and since coming home my relationship with my parents is nonexistent. My mother tried to control my interactions with my brother and sister to the point of no contact. I have established independent relationships with both of them. At first she took it wrong, like I was putting her down, what I meant, as a convert, she didn’t know how fake they could be Re getting her back to church. Years later, she realized how fake, behind her back, unkind those people were. Not one ounce of genuine friendship there. She’s so nice, they believed she’d return. When she didn’t, they were vicious behind her back. It was sad and I saw it from 100 miles away.

While I was there conversing with the romney supporters one of them bore his testimony to me that God had told him that the same power that he learned that the church was true that Romney was going to win the election. I then asked God myself if this was true and he told me that despite with the prophets would have you believe there's certain things that I don't even reveal to them. The shortlist is elections, sporting events, and lottery numbers. Then God said but I can tell you this, the evil powers that exists will never allow a worthy Melchizedek priesthood holder to win a presidential election. Ive easily heard 40 times that with all the blessing and knowledge and testimony we have, we should smile more. Meaning some of us, who know the truth of that statement do smile, but there are plenty who are dealing with serious issues as we all do sometimes. Second, having just returned from a Senior two-year mission, and hearing others, describe how happy I am, even though I didn’t even know I was smiling and in some cases wasn’t smiling, proves there is happiness in living the gospel and serving and it shows automatically in our countenance without effort. So what this guy thinks is a concerted effort is actually normal.
