If Nadal played highest level of tennis in 2012,2013 in his prime he would have win Wimbledon title for 3rd time before Djokovic mastered grass surface under Boris Becker for sure defeating Federer twice under him actually 2012 and 2013 He was young also that time it finished he wont win 3rd Wimbledon title as he is 36 years old now Nadal wasted his life at Wimbledon for sure It would be great if Nadal reached Wimbledon finals 7 times and win 3rd Wimbledon title in 2012 or 2013 actually for sure when he was just 26 years old and 27 years for sure.
Djokovic is prosperous on grass is because of Boris Becker coaching and training in 2014 and 2015 Boris Becker is the reason for Federer losing 3 Wimbledon finals to Djokovic. Those 2 years built mental strength of Djokovic at Wimbledon so much he winning back to back Wimbledon titles He is unrivalled and destructive player at Wimbledon for others
@Rafa undisputed Goat Nadal can't win Wimbledon titles Now Nadal is better hard court player than Grass court player actually Grass became least favorite surface since 2011 He didn't reach the level of Djokovic at Wimbledon to defeat him actually Max he will get 4th Runner up trophy He got a chance to win it in 2018 he failed actually now no chance he is 36 years old now. He is not federer He loves hard court surface more than grass court surface actually since 2011. He had a chance to win it in 2020 but it was cancelled due covid reasons He won't win Wimbledon title at age 36 to 40 for sure He will win other grandslam titles but not Wimbledon title
It's actually a very good thing for Nadal to face a tough test so early. Cerundolo is the 5th best unseeded player at this tournament (by ATP rankings), so this was no easy task for a first round match.
Cerudolo played good not anywhere that level , Nadal wasn't in his usual self yesterday, he wasn't able to dictate points, whenever he tried he send it wide. Fortunately he was through and better in upcoming rounds
Not in a level to beat anyone, he lost ... he played his best tennis against a 36 old clay especialist and it wasn't enough, so he needs a lot to improve.
Rafa won but he is still 50% in the clay mode. Obviously he got little time to adjust to grass, but he is greatest problem solver and am pretty sure he would rapidly adjust to the new surface.
Do u think playing on clay is easy ..... perhaps u dont know he already won many matches on grass... grass court is very easy to play compared to clay. U bettrr updated with ur knowl3dge
@@saikirangoud8767 Lol how? I mean these days grass is easier because it's much slower but generally grass favours more skilled players like Federer because it's so fast.
This is probably the weirdest Wimbledon in a while, not only the russians were banned but all the contenders/threats are out 1st round, the draw is so unbalanced now , in a way I'm happy cause we could witness a massive final between Djokovic vs Nadal but then so many uninteresting matches till the finals
That's right, Berrettini pulling off for covid is a real shame, he was in great form since comeback. Hurkacz was my favourite for the semifinal, now his quarter of the draw is really weak. I mean there is Ruud, Baez, Tiafoe, Norrie, Paul or Fokina but I don't think any of them can threaten Djokovic in the semis. He will probably have a harder match in quarters if Alcaraz, Sinner or Murray can get into top form. The bottom part is even weaker, there are Cressy and Fritz as possible Nadal's opponents for quarterfinal and Tsitsipas, Kyrgios or Bautista Agut for the semis. But it really looks rather unbalanced after the first round. I think we will see some more suprises, but it seems inevitable that Nadal and Djokovic will make it to the final.
Looking back, Nadal did well to get through. It was a tough 1st round match. Cerundolo just won a tournament beating many big names straight after Wimbledon.
He started his threat to the tour with his semifinal run in Miami this year. And before that, he reached his first ATP final early last year (a week after his brother won his first ATP title on ATP tournament debut). He's been making some steady progress and this match against Rafa was another corner turning moment, to take it on competitively against a big 3 member. Now after winning his first ATP Title in Bastad last week, he just obliterated World No.8 Rublev in Hamburg this week. It just keeps getting better for him.
Cerundolo could have been 4-1 up in the fourth set. his backhand JUST missed the line. I went to bed (it was 3am) but I thought my man Rafa was done. Woke up to find he somehow escaped that! 😲 wow 🙌
Nadal actually looked pretty solid and confident on grass. Had a strong footing with smooth movements. 23rd is definitely on the cards this summer. Vamos!!!
@Rafa undisputed Goat Well, I know one who tends to mix personal wishes (or wishful thinking) and objective analysis. That being said I’m conviced that Nadal has his chances.
Hardcore Nadal fan but this is not the same Nadal that I watched from the previous French Open. Even though he got through, there were a lot of misplaced shots and errors during this match. Shows how good & comfortable he is at clay than playing at the hard courts.
He shouldn’t even have the AO. Covid fear handed him the AO. He has no chance against djokovic on any surface other than clay and we’ve seen that for over a decade. Covid really saved nadal fans wow
@@samuelbrown4764 excuses excuses... man won against Medvedev, the most in form player in hard courts at that point in time from 2 sets down, all while having a fractured foot and not having played for the past months. It doesn't get much harder than that so I guess he beat all the odds
Nadal has a good chance to be #1. He has no points to defend for the rest of the year while Medvedev has to defend almost 5000 points and Novak will lose 1200.
Very poor performance by Nadal , but the Great Roger says , one can not win a Grand in the first week but can lose it, so the important thing this week specially in WB is not losing
I love Rafa, big fan here, but I think he had no chance to beat a lot of player over this surface...No Novak, no Alcaraz, likely no Isner...But I really love he is playing Wimblendon and make us enjoy with his tennis. Always a huge warrior!
Cerudolo did some alcaraz stuff in there... He could have won the match. His serve has to improve. He is easily a top player otherwise. Nadal winning this 3.5 hr match is great, without playing warm up tournaments
Honestly, how do you beat Nadal? I’ve watch this game (unfortunately from the TV) and I don’t understand how you possibly can beat him unless you are shooting deep strong balls AALLL THE TIME
All the comments here are just disrespect to Nadal shame Respect the player who 16 years wins everything and the best ever or one of the best in your opinion.. novak fans 🤮🤮🤮🤮🤐
Cerendulo's forehand was Federer like.. That guy is no mug.. It's a shame he has to play Nadal in his first round.. With his play he would have reached quarters at least.. You don't often see nadal loosing points in longer rallies unless it's top 5 players, cerendulo won most of them
Rafa looking a bit better but still very far from his potential capability on this surface. The BHDTL is still not damaging. He couldn't do well on this surface mainly for lack of practice coz he almost always finishes late in RG. When he was younger he can adjust faster but now he will really need more time to adjust his game especially since it's been 3 years since he played competitively here. Four sets per game will be great for his play for this week to be more competitive next week. I pervently hope he can win this 2022 SW19. Vamos Rafa!
For all the wars USA had inflicted on Iraq, Syria, Libya Afghanistan etc , American players should be banned too .. Politics should not come into sports which should be played by all peoples....
With that claycourt tennis,Djokovic is going to eat him. Where is the 2008 shotmaking Nadal. Needs to construct and shorten his points. He can't just play rallies out here. He is getting pushed way beyond the baseline by his opponent. Needs to be aggressive.
his reluctance to play his forehand dtl or play flat and aggressive driving me absolutely insane he just kept doing nothing with the cc forehand playing centrally trying to get into rallies instead
