RAM 1500 5.7L HEMI Vs Ford F-150 5.0L COYOTE Vs Chevy Silverado 5.3L V8 LS! 

I’ve got a coyote and my buddy has a hemi. My truck is definitely louder but the hemi just has the right sound. It’s a hard thing to describe but in person it makes total sense

I like Chevys, but the coyote wins this test.

Poor Chevy never stood a chance. Hemi's always sound good but that Ford....OMG that Ford is rowdy, it is the best beast mode for sure. He will be back to quiet that thing down before too long I bet.

The coyote is a GREAT engine. The 5.3 and 5.7 are DECENT engines. 6.2 Chevy is also GREAT.

All straight pipe conversions without mufflers need the X pipe to mellow out that barking raspy sound. Would sound so much better. The Chevy sounds the best of all three.

coyote duels sound funky. chevy sounds nice. i have a ram with the performance crossover-the original smashes the pipes together into the factory exhaust-the magnaflow keeps the pipes full size with full flow-i have a duel outlet magnaflow exhaust on my hemi and it sounds so nice. not too loud-or raspy-and flows great. the crossover made a lot of difference in flow where the factory smashed the pipes together. i had shorty headers on-put back the factory manifolds and because my flow is so good with the cross over replacement my engine breaths way better-23-24 mpg better...before that just over 21 on the highway. swb ram express.

If you like raspy (I do) then the 32v coyote will never fail. If you want low/bassey and lumpy, then the hemi for sure. Hard to compare the 5.3 with the extra cat, but I still think it would be the goldilocks in the group. I think the mic peaks out with the high volume, so they sound much different in real life, but I know for a fact the coyotes sound raspy when opened up. Between the 3, for me, the coyote all day long.

Chevy sounded the best. I’ve owned the 2014 dodge and I have the f150 5.0 now. My f150 is setup with a flow master and sounds a lot like the Chevy. i don’t like the loud exhaust where I can’t hear anyone talk or my radio in the cab.

I like them all but I think the chevy gets the family fun ride and the ford is the loud and proud in my opinion. Thanks for sharing!

The Chevy sounded the best of the three for these set ups. Generally speaking, the Hemi has the best sound, but not with these set ups. The Coyote sounded obnoxious....like a old jalopy whose exhaust fell off.

That 3rd Cat on the 5.3 sucks. IMO, If going true Duals, I'd definitely recommend an H pipe or X Pipe in there.

I have a 2012 f150 5.0 I got it straight piped single into 2 1/4 duels but im wanting louder. Should i get true duals and put 3 inch from the cats to the existing exhaust or should i get rid of the cats. Its really loud if you get on it but at idle and cruising around i want it a bit louder

1. Chevy the Ram is a very close second. The F150 is annoying even for a truck guy that likes likes loud exhaust. Raspy is for tuners not trucks.

Just acquired a 2017 5.0 last of the reliable F150s no joke really look at the stats. Ford did a amazing job on the exhaust quiet on idle and insane on full throttle man yeah going full bore sounds amazing but stock on this truck is for me way out of the realm of the old rasp loud idle and drone at cruise. I am a old fart had my days with insane loud exhaust today the factory exhaust sounds adequate kudos to you young folk raspy insane loud ear breaking I am enjoying the quiet purr.
