Hi Strider, I might be wrong here but I believe the armor of 25 (leading to HP of 125) only applies to body shots. The helmets only provide 12 armor for a total of 112 HP if hitting headshots. I consistently get 2 tap headshots from range with the AK15 w/out heavy barrel so I'm only doing 120 damage, but still killing full health enemies. This is why the AK15 is S tier because you can tap fire effectively at range, and still kill quick close range full auto when recoil isn't an issue.

Not to mention I think it's possible to actually shoot people in the legs to get that 3 shot kill if you actually wanna go for it since there doesn't seem to be a torso multi, I bet people who play tarkov have already been doing that shit behind our backs.

I don’t think the limb thing is the case but maybe, there doesn’t seem to be limb or torso damage so I think it’s all just body and the vest counts for all body shots

Meta talks are also misleading how I have to find out Heavy Barrel exists to realize why they call it strong when I couldn't do the same. Out of the box no weapon is good enough to win gunfights. :(

On the AK15 it is worth noting that higher power rifle like that is going to be best used FIRING IN BURSTS for more long range engagements. The AK15 utilizing burst fire can actually be very good. This is one of very few games these days that doesn't have that as a go-to strat for assault rifles.

Great review man! In my opinion, the AK15 is a 5/5 . You get access to a 40 dmg gun at a low level that shreds at close to mid range. With the URK grip and quick A mag reducing reload time and helping with recoil it's a machine.

The base AK-15 has just less than 2.9% more damage output than the AR-15, because of it's lower firerate. So the time to kill isn't significantly faster. On mid distance it's most likely even slower in many cases, because the recoil makes you miss more shots, while also having a smaller magazine. Only it's headshot potential and it's damage reaching further is a solid argument, but you still need 2 hs to kill with follow up shots being relatively difficult, in many cases an AR-15 burst would be more effective. I prefer the AR-15 in most scenario/as an allrounder, except maybe very close combat and long range tap shooting.

I must say, the heavy / long barrel stuff is a gamechanger, was not even on my radar and i am 50 hours in. All weapons i use do 123 or 124 dmg in 4 shots, i was actually 1 - 2 dmg off and had to hit 1 more bullet for no reason. My fav. gun , the aug a3 as a midrange player, feels smooth as hell now. Dont judge me for liking the Aug, i am a weird one. My favourite gun in bf4 was QBZ - 95 -1, which was the least played gun in the medic class.

Honestly aug isn’t bad for mid range at all, not the most meta or anything but the velocity and range are really good which makes it consistent but not great cqc which is why it’s not the best assault rifle or anything

The QBZ in the BF4 was actually really competitive for any of the bigger map due to it low recoil and insanely low first shot recoil value. People usually prioritize higher fire rate gun but high fire rate usually doesn't even matter if you can't hit your shot properly.

One thing you should have in mind is theory vs practice, as an example: The ak15 might not seem to have the greatest stats but it shreds in game

@@StriderPF I wouldnt even say Ak15 for cqc, slap a strikefire on it and some horizontal control (I think gunfighter and muzzlebreak are best in slot for horizontal) and it turns into imo the best DMR tap fire gun. You get SOOO many one shots from people who are sitting at that "just res'd" hp

The extra 25 armor hp you mention only comes into play for shots to the torso and is not replenished on revive, meaning that the 100 hp TTK is actually very relevant as there is no damage modifier on limb shots. The AK15 can do one head one body on fresh targets or 3 body on revived targets which is a large part of what makes it strong.

Yeah it all depends on how someone spawned or what helmet and armor they chose, a lot of people now are running 112 health medic for the faster walkspeed including me, but it’s usually best to go off worst case scenario so you know you’ll kill the average full health guy with medium armor

I love sights in this game so much, there is such a good variety. So far my most favorite is strikefire, razor and aim comp. Idk so many good sights make game feels fresh to me.

i use the scar as my sniper. throw a suppressor on, and go for low first shot kick attachments. that way you really can go stealthy, covering a whole faccade of windows without them seeing you. if you switch angles after 3 kills, they never figure out what hit them. no sound, no muzzle flash in this chaotic environment makes you invisible. plus if you hit them twice, it's a kill. even if you dont finish them off yourself with a third hit. i'd say the majority of my 600 kills on this weapon were assists that counted as kill. pretty neat.

I feel as though to much is placed on ttk/rpm. I found that the ak15 comes alive in semi auto, and the AUGs low fire rate and far damage drop off means you can rock accurate, mid range, full auto fire in a way that an ak74 or m4 simply can't.

The ak15 is still really good with its damage but tap firing will always be beat by a more accurate assault rifle, and the Aug is TOO accurate to the point of just being a little weak up close (the Aug has its purpose but the m4a1 with a good setup and good recoil control can beam perfectly fine at 200 meters)

Tbh, AUG gets amazing numbers as a sniper, high bullet speed/precision and a massive mag, but a very low dmg, i personally use AK15 to snipe as a Medic, and also heal other snipers around me, also works to defend the snipers at close range when enemies approach

one tip is to bind the ssteady aim keybind with the fire button. that way while in full auto you wont have to remember to hold the steady aim while shooting. you will still need the stead aim on another keybind for sniper work.

I haven’t changed my sensitivity in game at all surprisingly so I have default sensitivity and idk my dpi, I think it’s worth it to go a little lower sensitivity in this game for more accuracy but idk I just go with whatever I have

The Aug is a medium range fighter, I personally like it since when built right, it is an absolute laser beam at medium range and can full auto at greater distances. synergizes well with the glock since it covers its closer range weakness in slower ttk

@StriderPF though the rpm is a large part of why it's so controllable in the first place. The ranges it excels at are the ranges where other ars start to become too uncontrollable for full auto engagement. It's reload speed is fast regardless of the bg-urk so I think opting for vertical grip tactical barrel as it puts its recoil on par with an smg, though long barrel can likely work, but it starts to lose its main advantage which is just how little you can get it.

I recommend the SG550 if that's the kind of fighting you like. I used the AUG too, but the 550 quickly overtook it. Higher RPM, similar recoil/accuracy, same damage dropoff range, basically same aim speed. AUG has a higher velocity and slightly faster reload, but the 550 will win you CQB fights that the AUG will flat out lose

Here’s my take on the best AK15 setup: Main sight: Preference (I go with red dot) Canted sight: Preference (I go with empty) Magazine: Quick A Underbarrel Rail: B-25 URK (I prefer B-25 but BCM is also good just for minimizing horizontal kick) Barrel: Flash Hider Siderail: Preference (I go with empty) The vertical kick will be killer but once you get the hang of controlling it, you’ll see that the horizontal recoil has been reduced to pretty much nothing compared to what it was. On top of that, you reload much quicker, which is nice.

What you missed on the SG550 is that the max damage carries further than the M4. Toss in the higher accuracy and lower recoil and it's actually much better at medium range while still being close to the M4 at CQB. It's really an all-around very good AR but not the best at anything

I think you need to take the recoil into account more, if you compare the FAL’s spray at 50+ meters, it can’t compete with the G36 or the M4.

@@StriderPF What's faster than having nearly another full mag worth of bullets already loaded? The base reload time on the AK15 is its biggest downside IMO because even fully kitted its still too slow for quick fights. On the flip side its one of the few cases were the extended mag is nearly doubling the capacity and its like running around with a mini-M249, i.e. before you have to reload either everything is dead or you are.

I really like using the AK-15 with quick mags, gunfighter grip, and tactical muzzle. It rips in close quarters and you can switch to semi and go for headshots at range. I've counter sniped a lot of dudes with it.

With the SCAR H with its low ammo capacity, thats fine, because in PF, mmy favorite weapon of choice was the Beowulf ECR because it hit like a truck, shoots fast, and with modifications , incredibly agile, so popping in and out with a low ammo, but punchy gun is quite fun for me.

I really hope they buff the famas and ak5c, for example better damage, and reload or better velocity, ranges and recoil would be very good for the famas in a way that it won't make it too op depending on the amount (also it has a slightly over 20 inch barrel so idk why the ranges aren't as good as the aug). For the ak5c better recoil, firerate or damage would set it apart from the m4 a bit more. (biased note: what did they do to my baby, the famas definately deserves to be better. It's my favourite gun, I have 13k kills with it in PF and 2k in bad business not because it would be particularly good but because I like it)

the Scar-H is actually more of a skill weapon. You can put a medium range scope (prefer the 3,5x) and some red dot on top of it for cqc. This gun can be really powerful if you can manage the recoil on range. You were right actually, that you can use it as a "automatic DMR" before the M14 unlock (its also automatic). However this gun might be a more universal version of M14, since SCAR will do better on cqc than the M14. Also the AK15 is probably a direct upgrade to ak74 imo, since yeah, it shoots slow, and has high recoil, but theres just some practice required to manage the recoil again, and it actually is a 3 shot body and 2 shot head, not counting the armor. And about the aug... i think its probably the best gun to beam people from range since it has such low recoil.

Armor only matters if you hit them in the helmet or plate carrier. I melt people when i land face shots, stomach shots or leg shots.

Thanks for the breakdown, it felt really in depth and fleshed out. That said: all rifles are clearly 1/5 because I cant anything with them. 😂 Clearly not a skill issue, right? Jokes aside, Ive had some good luck with the MK20 at mid-long range. The consistent two-taps to the head and accurate fire allow me to pin down a few windows at a time or pinch a corner with ease. I really took off in the game the moment I picked one up.

Thanks man and yeah the dmrs were good when I started I don’t use them much anymore but they have amazing drop they barely lose any damage which makes the starter one 2 shot head all ranges on most enemies

@StriderPF Yeah, for sure. The recoil and fire speed means that a lot of guys have time to duck into cover after the first shot... but they always peak again. Always. 😆 I'm hoping one of the latter options that unlocks ends up working just a bit better for me, but if this is as good as they get, I'm content.

Good video! Ill have to disagree on the SCAR rating though. I have only had issues beating VECTORS in close - midrange gun fights since unlocking it. The game went from pain in the ass, to much easier since level 50. On paper the AK-15 should be better, but i think the weird horizontal recoil just really screws up precise engagements for me.

I'm kind of hoping they give the Famas some love.... I just really love high RPM weapons... i'd take a higher fire rate (most sources are bouncing between 900 - 1100... so 1000+ rpm would be fun) up the mag to 30. Then i'd wait and see what the performance is before doin anything else.... if needed up the damage, if needed change the recoil etc etc.

Ak15 shines with medium range scope and red dot because you can pop headshots and very decent range and get kills on people that have taken just a little damage while also being somewhat usable up close

Yeah except the Aug and m4a1 can full auto to stupid range and out dps an ak, still a solid assault rifle because of the damage though

@StriderPF that's assuming you dont have cover though. If you have good cover and you're having a peek and pop battle at range, you'll almost always win.

bro i totally disagree the ak15, it is really good, both in cqb and tap firing at longer ranges. Use the flash hider and vertical grip for a very low recoil pattern and whatever mags you prefer. The gun is a beast.

As a man with 1k + hours on phantom forces and over 50 bucks spent on it, battle bit it is quite enjoyable, also the creators actually get payed, unlike roblox.

I have tested damage and armor EXTENSIVELY and it basically works like this: You have 100 HP There are no damage multipliers anywhere except the head. (2x for snipers, 1.2 for pistols and SMGs, 1.5x for everything else) Armor has HP equal to the numbers on their stats BUUUUUT they only affect a very small part of the hitbox: - Helmets only protect the top of the head not the face (except for the heaviest support helmet that has face plate) - Body armor only affects a small part in the center of the chest/belly and some also have plates on the back. This means that you almost always hit parts with no armor since your hands block basically everything that the chest armor protects, making armor almost useless. Especially since it slows you down.

Well yes and no on armor being useless, if you have a decent kd and don’t die all the time, your armor will probably not be too helpful. But also armor gives you a lot more magazines, which is pretty helpful depending on the weapon

@@StriderPF Oh yeah, the extra magazines do help. It's just that the ARMOR part doesn't really help that often to justify the weight. Running fast keeps you alive much better than the occasional armor hit.
