Fun fact - Marie Callendar's was the restaurant Heaven's Gate ate at for their last meal. Also imo the frozen chicken pot pies from Marie are the best.

As someone who has unfortunately had Healthy Choice before, they missed a step which is why it’s dry. The sauce is under it - there’s two bowls. After heating, you’re supposed to take the top bowl and dump the vegetables etc into it and stir it together. It’s easy to tell in the video, as you can see the sauce on the bottom through the bowl and can see the holes in the side of the top bowl where you’re able to pick it up. Not saying it would have redeemed it, but that’s why it was so dry and you didn’t see the sauce.

Funny you mentioned the heinz conspiracy because they collaborate with restaurant to make frozen versions of their meals but 98% of the time they taste nothing like the restaurants, and sometimes they even offer meals that the restaurant doesnt even offer.

As someone who grew up with parents who really didnt give af about the health quality of the food we ate, I unironically love many of those frozen dinners. Frozen dinners & Chef Boyardee have become comfort food for me.

the healthy choice pot pie has a two piece plate design. the sauce is at the bottom under the false bottom of the first plate to keep it from getting soggy. Youre supposed to combine the two after cooking with the sauce. It's how they do their orange chicken and stuff too.

one thing I will say about the Marie Callender's pot pies, you have to eat em warm. once they get cold they kinda suck. really good when warm, though.

All of those "Healthy Choice STEAMER" meals have an extra step to the prep. It's got TWO plastic plates. The first holds the actual food, and has holes on the bottom. The second deeper plate has all the sauces, and when heated the steam from the sauce helps cook the food above it. So when it's done cooking, you're supposed to flip the steam plate food into the sauce plate and mix it together before you eat it. My mom bought a few of these and ate 3 of them before I figured out she was just eating the dry cooked food without mixing it into any of the sauces underneath it. Also, even though Stouffers wasn't the Home Alone mac and cheese, it was the brand on the box of ROAST TURKEY DINNER that the mac and cheese was placed on top of in that scene. So you combined them. It was just a trick of the mind.

The gravy for the Healthy Choice pot pie is in the container underneath the veggies and meat. That brand always has the sauce in the bottom and you're supposed to dump the foods into the bottom bowl.

The Banquet Chicken Pot Pie is a staple I remember my grandparents always buying like a dozen of those mixed with beef at a time. Also the Country Chicken and Gordon Ramsey meals cost like 6 times what the Banquet one costs.

Every time Papa Meat compares Lean Cuisine or Healthy Choice to prison food I remember that when I had to go to the mental hospital for being in an extremely bad place the very worst thing about the experience was that we only had those two types of food to eat. Like the WORST part wasn't that I was actively suicidal, please understand that. It was absolutely the Lean Cuisine.

An hour long video of trying and ranking a load of frozen dinners? Perfect to watch in the background while I depressingly spend an hour trying to cook a simple meal! EDIT: This video is NOT, however, the best to watch while eating your sad attempt at adult food. Some of those TV dinners make me want to just starve.

Grew up next to a Marie Callender’s restaurant. It was a treat going there as a kid. You walked in the big, double bronze and wooden doors and the first thing in the entrance is the pie display. Chocolate, blueberry, etc. The food was amazing and the portions were huge, and they covered the table in paper and gave us crayons so we could write on the table. I still buy their chicken pot pies sometimes... Hell, I even buy those Banquet brand ones sometimes. $0.99 each and 400+ calories, they got me through college. Also ya gotta mix in the crust with these pot pies before eating them. Makes them way better IMO. If you’re fond of the halfling leaf and get the munchies, add a spoonful of Yoshida’s teriyaki sauce in the pie (Delicious fucking death by sodium).

When I was young I worked at a grocery store and would often buy a Healthy Choice chicken alfredo meal for dinner. That stuff was bomb. I've never had most of these meals, though. Stauffer's mac n cheese is a staple.

The healthy choice steamers are into two sections with a plastic section separating it. You pick the handles and pour it into the sauce. The pot pie had sauce at bottom it was just covered.

I like the Banquet sweet & sour chicken meal, with a few (3-5) extra chicken nuggets added into it. One of them from the local place is $1.50, and about $6 for a big bag of Banquet's white meat nuggets that will last like ten to fifteen of these meals. It's lower on sodium than other frozen meals, easy enough to make, fairly lower on calories, filling, cheap, and it's actually pretty good.

31:42 fyi and sorry to people sensitive but if there is red blood in your stool it’s still good to go to the hospital but that’s like if you’re bleeding on the outside or like right there and unless it’s a lot its not the worst. The really bad thing in your stool is if it’s like black bc I looked into a while ago and that could mean you are internally bleeding and is a worse sign.

The first round with mac n' cheese reminded me of a memory I have where in my late teens me and a friend had been drinking and we also decided to smoke the devil's lettuce, and he couldn't handle it. So he proceeded to throw up his dinner from earlier into my front yard, where he had eaten mac n' cheese with sliced got dogs in it and I swear, he did not chew his food because his puke looked like he just spilt a fresh bowl of mac n' cheese with hot dogs into my yard. I wish I had a picture of it because it was unreal. This happened like at least 10 years ago. It was definitely an experience though, and it was hilarious to me.

Salisbury steak is essentially a hamburger steak, i work in a steakhouse and we actually sell a ton of them. Its ground chuck formed into the same shape as a salisbury steak and it typically gets served with grilled onions and mushrooms then topped with brown gravy.

I love how he prefaced every meal with I don't like this anyway so let's taste 5 of them.
