The Shrowser fight really felt tagged on especially since you fight the younger princess shroob right before the elder one. Literally the only thing I remember about it is that you can't attack. And that the name kind of sounds like shower lol.

Kamek is probably supposed to have very little health (by boss standards) this is seen by how Kamek dies. No explosion in starts just dies like an normal enemy. Which I find hilarious when I first played this game

shrowser is there because the developers wanted bowser as a final boss in every game also the thing I found that makes the game bad, is that all enemies do low damage and high hp(little miscalculation by the devs maybe)

8:46 Thankfully the shockwave attack was shown in the video. I've rarely seen a Mario and Luigi video not mention that attack. Plus, if you want to avoid dealing with the UFO attack, actually have Swiggler heal himself and it actually triggers his default attack. The shockwave attack triggers when you attack Swiggler while Red.

Honestly what they could done was to get the Schroeder fight earlier in the game maybe after bowser and then explain it by having the princess shroob shroom going through one finale time hole in the end. Of course they would need to make the princess shroob spirit way foggier so only her tentacles are seen

Why am I feeling nostalgic over you talking about PiT again?

Fun fact: In Everything Wrong With Partners in Time, Charriii5 exaggerates how difficult the fights in the game are (especially the bosses) are and says how long it takes him to beat said bosses due to how much HP they have, or maybe it's because he doesn't deal enough damage. He doesn't use Bros Items until the fight with Princess Shroob because the first few Bros Items are only useful against lower level enemies and bosses, he doesn't believe using Bros Items is super useful because of having a 75% chance of screwing up an input with something he has a limited quantity of, and he even has a lot of Bros Items because he wasn't using them for pretty much the entire game. During the Sunnycide part of the video, he states that he takes way too much damage from a single attack and doesn't get enough experience from enemies even though up to that point, he has been fighting every single enemy he comes across. He also says that using all four characters in battles doesn't feel intuitive, especially when he has to alternate between buttons he isn't used to. Before he talks about Elder Princess Shroob, he shows that his EXP is in the low 20,000s range, which, according to this game's level up progression chart, gets him level 23. I'm not sure what causes him to be underleveled, but I can only assume that he hasn't been grinding or he has chosen to not fight enemies for an entire area. My point is that if you feel like you a) don't do enough damage, b) can't take a hit, or c) don't have enough HP to survive for a while for almost the entire game, how do you not guess that you are underleveled?

My theory as to why Shrowser even exists is that there was some sort of rule that Bowser HAD to somehow be involved in the final boss, and the developers were forced to add him to the game even tho they initially intended for Elder Princess Shroob to be the final boss

1:54 For me, he is though. He would really fit in a BIS moment. But not Partners in time, since it has better than avarage bosses. But then he comes and breaks the tradition. By the way, i am not able to play this game. When i started to use a better DS emulator, i thought "hey, PinT will be less annoying if i play on this emulator" but, when i try to save, or Stuffwell opens ???self in Holi Joli Village, the emulator just, closes itself and i get softlocked. Maybe it is a memory problem, since when i played, i had other games in my cell phone, but, it's really sad.😭😭😭

12:25 It may be three years late, but I can answer this question. It instakills Mario and Luigi, forcing you to have to rev them with the babies who are far more likely to get beaten by the commander's normal attacks. Also, I saw some comments saying that the bosses had too much hp and you didn't do enough damage, but this was a known issue with certain Western releases of the game, particularly the NA version, where some enemies, most notably Elder Princess Shroob, would have almost double the HP of their JP counter parts as well as higher defense.

I think the main problem is shrowser is number 1: you can’t attack only reflect attacks number 2: it doesn’t feel like a final boss infact it doesn’t feel like a boss at all…

i really would like to see a video adressing what could have been done in all the mario games to make them stand out more and better in general, for partners in time (which is the game i have played the most) i would have liked being able to visit certain areas from the present and not just peach castle, i would remove that last bowser fight and would put an optional boss in joli village since a toad next to the portal talks about how he has been attacked, so i think they wanted to do something like that but finally they removed it. With those flaws removed i think the game could easily compete with bowsers inside story for the best mario and luigi rpg. This was a cool video though hope u keep posting

For the Commander Shroob fight, I believe if you leave the shroob in the middle standing, the bomb still rolls to the right

I really love the dark ambiance in Partners in Time. A whole race of bad and merciless aliens that look like a corrupted version of the good guys of the game, with an army that they cannot face, and with those who cannot dialogue because they have a different language, and only want to destroy and take over their world. And that final phase music, with the princess fainted in the background, just for the shock of the final form of the Queen of those aliens. Sigh* that's why I hate those papercraft battles.

If they made Shrowser's attacks way harder to avoid like Bowser X's attacks and have them do a lot more damage and gave him more HP then honestly I think he could have been a decent final boss fight.

So, what's wrong with Shrowser?... What's right with him would be the shorter answer. And that answer would be... Uuuuh... They still use Bowsers battle theme.. and it slaps... But considering the boss theme right before it was the most other worldly thing in existence being Another's Requiem, that's not saying much. If I could rework Shrowser, here's how I'd do it. He'd have 2 (or 3 on how you look at this) phases Phase 1: he's basically a normal Bowser fight but he takes only 1 damage no matter what, and it's supposed to progress with every turn. Phase 2: he gets pissed off and then the cartoon smoke clouds that appear when someone's mad, as they do in cartoon logic, then form Elder Princess Shroob, who this time has like 1/3 more of her HP then she did in the normal Shrowser fight, and while you can still fight Shrowser, it still only does 1 damage and you have to damage Elder Princess Shroob with counter attacks. And then once you get her to like 1/4 of her HP, Bowser gets even more angry that you haven't died yet and THEN it becomes the normal Shrowser fight of endless dodging, only for alot less longer ofcourse being only like 1/4 left of the fight, and the attacks are way more dangerous, yet somehow more easy to dodge, aka how it should be. Also if you somehow kill him by being a god at Copyflowers or something, there's like a secret death animation

You didn't rank the first boss of the game, the Shroob trio you face in Hollijolli Village Although I understand why some don't really consider it a boss, it's a lot like Smouldergeist, not really a tutorial boss but more of a warmup boss (similar to the Sea Pipe Statue in BIS, it has tutorial elements but it overall has a more true boss battle feel). I imagine the Shroob trio would be at the bottom of your list or maybe right above Shrowser, since the attacks are so basic.

I mean, it is one of your first videos. So, it is normal for you to hate it.

IMHO, the Mario RPGs are so much better than the Pokemon RPGs, for the following reasons: 1. The Mario RPGs are full of original and fun ideas, while Pokemon always reuses the same plots and requirements. 2. The characters in the Mario RPGs have different and enjoyable personalities, but the Pokemon characters have very little personality. 3. The attacks from the Mario RPGs feel lively since they are always animated, while the Pokemon themselves barely move in their battles. 4. The Pokemon games are always about capturing the Pokemon, when there is little motivation for doing so. Having to catch around 800 Pokemon is also a waste of time. Overall, I like Mario due to it being more unique and full of great characters, while I'm starting to like Pokemon just because of the Pokemon, such as Toxel, Pichu, Vullaby, and Breloom.
