Good lord, I was already infatuated with this devil since EA but seeing his full characterization just makes me love him more. Raphael isn't even the main villain but he sure knows how to steal the show.

Ok so as a heads for those that have gotten to this point and like me want what he offers in exchange for the crown but don't aren't sure if they want to give it up, to avoid spoilers, Raphael offers you a key item for Laezel's quest, for me anyway, which also depends on your choice I think. In any case you can just flat out refuse him or accept the deal however if you go to the lower city, there's a place called the devil's fee, in there speak to the clerk. I'm not sure if this will be the case for everyone but I'm playing as the dark urge but anyways after talking for a while the conversation moves to the topic of Raphael and you can ask the clerk to open up a portal to Raphael's home in Avernus to rob him. I haven't opened the portal yet but yeah will see how it goes. Oh and bring a lot of coin because there are some really good stuff, for me anyway.

I see the lore has been retconed a bit. The Netherese empire was a society built on magic their power was so great they created 10th and 11th level and with those spells they created their floating cities but this reliance on magic attracted otherworldly entities besieging the empire from all sides leading to Karsus to develop the only 12th level spell in existence Karsus's Avatar which allowed one to take the divinity of a god and he chose Mystryl the original incarnation of Mystra however Karsus couldn't control the power of Weave causing magic to go haywire and chaotic however Mystryl with the last of her power severed Karsus from weave and causing all magic to cease leading to the collapse of the Netherese empire as their cites crashed into the earth this event would be known as Karsus's folly.

I made the deal - mostly because I'm starting to get bored of the game and I just want to get to an ending; cutting a deal will hopefully make it end faster.

To be honest i think that deal around making tadpole go away is better than deal to give us a stupid hammer, that we can retrive by ourselves. Plus i dont even need Orpheus, so this is no brainer. 0 temptetion, Raphael is useless, because if we have crown of Karsus, we dont need him, i he doesnt provide anythng except the easy way to switch sides from Emperor to Orheus, that majority of players doent even need. Power or freedom that what we should have from him... I am disappointed in his quest branch.
