What'll really blow your mind is she wrote this song at age 11. Aurora has a unique talent of sweeping the listener up and transporting them to wherever she goes when she sings. Highly recommend checking out her LIVE performances of "It Happened Quiet (Live at the Current)", and Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1), Live at the Nobel Peace Prize concert"
@@wishtheyunderstoodme there’s a documentary thing on here ‘ Aurora haik , full version’ where she talks about her life growing up and her influences etc and it looks like she had a pretty good upbringing , although she was always a little ‘different’ to the other kids she grew up with (her parents excepted and nurtured her strangeness and creativity )
Aurora is the Fifth Element. She wrote this song when she was very young. Not only is she an amazing lyricist and poet, she becomes the song with her ethereal voice. She is a fairy from Norway. You need to watch and listen to many of her videos. I am so glad that you discovered her! ❤❤❤😊😊😊
She's saying "Now, take me home" and other places she's saying "no, no, now take me home". Her Norwegian accent can make the word "now" sound like "no". There is definitely no "Lord" in her world. She was born in 1996, so I think she was 19 when this video came out. She's from Bergen, Norway. The scenes in this video with the trees and fjord in the background were in the front yard of her family home. You said she reminded you of "Frozen", Aurora sang the voice of the Secret Siren in the song "Into The Unknown" from "Frozen 2". And you thought Ren was a rabbit hole, welcome to Aurora!
Just some little corrections: Aurora was 18, when the song and this video was recorded. And the scenes with "the trees and fjord in the background" were actually filmed in the backyard of her family home.
Nah, nah, nah, you haven’t heard Aurora until you’ve watched her live performances. Start with Runaway and Murder 5,4,3,2,1 from her 2015 performances at the Nobel Peace Prize concert. She’s unbelievable. ❤ I would never have been exposed to Ren if I didn’t first fall in love with Aurora and start watching reactions to her music and live performances. One of those reaction channels featured “Hi Ren” and checked it out. Now I’m obsessed with him.
Yeh, I got you, and I wish so much that some how they would collab toguether. IMO they are so similar on the human level. They are my top 2 artist of all time
Aurora Aksnes, 27 from Norway. Singer-Songwriter, Producer, Musician and Dancer. She is self trained in all aspects of her art except dance, she took ballet lessons from age 6 and progressed into contemporary dance until 16. She has been touring the world playing concerts and festivals for many years, she performed at Glastonbury in 2016 and 2019. Her global fan base is collectively known as "Warriors and Weirdos". Her latest song and music video was released a few weeks ago, it's titled "Your Blood". I hope you react to more of the talented young woman. Thanks.
Aurora is from Norway. My favorite description of her is Viking Fairy Prencess. Her live performances are awesome. Listen to It happened Quiet... live at the Current. It is a tragic song by fairy-like voices!
If she wrote this when she was 11, you can only imagine what she writes now!! Murder song live at the nobel concert is a mindblower. It happensd quiet is another.
She has a great mix of styles and songs. Billie Eilish says this song is one of her absolute favs and is one of the main reasons she wanted to get into music.
@@andrewadam9544I think they have a similar talent for jumping straight into your emotions and making you feel a thing. An indispensable skill for a storyteller.
All AURORA songs need to be experienced via the live versions (videos). I recommend - The 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert both "Runaway" and "Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1"
Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1 live at the Nobel peace prize concert; it happened quiet live at the current; through the eyes of a child live at Nidarasdomen. All incredible. Her live performances are something special.
Aurora’s music almost feels transcendent. She’s such a beautiful soul and her talent is beyond amazing. She reminds of a wood nymph that belongs in the forest, way too special and beautiful for us to see.
Among all reactors I love the 'pros' who have good quality audio. You really are a pro with the mic and stuff. Liked the reaction. And, since you are a rapper...maybe try Apple Tree from Aurora next! Unless you go to the live performances route, which many recommend (such as Nidarosdomen, NPPC 2015, KEXP 2018 and The Current). TYSM
Noooo, I’m sorry that you found this version first and not the live version. She is one of those artists who is better live than on a studio album. The haik documentary thing is on here, you should try and watch that at some point if you have a spare hour or so 😂. Most of her live stuff is very good. I got to see her live last summer at a festival in the uk and she was sort of mesmerising (I feel truly grateful for the experience )
She wrote her first songs under the age of 10, this one when she was eleven. She´s so beautyfull and some times unexpectet funny. So you do some reactions twice, see her with that song at nobel price concert. Maybe do first murdersong 5,4,3,2,1, so impressive. Mabe for a private session have a look at the Nidarosdomen concert. The most atmospheric concert i´ve seen so far and i am 57. Also don´t underestimate her influence. Best wishes from Germany.
I first heard her sing, Life on Mars on Howard stern years ago. Loved it, but never gave her another thought until a few years later and a replay came on. Then I went on RU-vid. 3 years later, I’m watching you watch her. It’s a rabbit hole for some, if her poetry reaches you, that you never want to leave. Her poetry has a theme I’ll let you figure out on your own. She has stated she has had a vision of “5 steps” of music and she is only in her first step, maybe the second now that a new track is out. She likes to and will experiment with her voice and loves hard hitting music most. Doesn’t listen to herself. Doesn’t need to sing, needs to write (a healing compulsion to write). Mother convinced her to share with us. Not a journey I want to miss as she has an effect on me and I appreciate what she is trying to do.
Your buddy Anthony did this song the other day, so I was hoping you'd get to it too. If you're REALLY interested in the meaning, there is a video on RU-vid that she did for Genius, where she sings through it acapella, and stops to break down the meaning of each section. She doesn't often go in depth with the meaning of her lyrics, because she wants people to interpret them in their own way, so it's pretty cool. I definitely hope you check out more Aurora on your channel. She's an amazing, very unique artist. And where she really shines is live, so that should probably be next on your agenda. I would highly recommend either this song or "Murder Song" live at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert.
Yay, Aurora FINALLY! She’s like a quirky Norwegian fairy. I love her for some of the same reasons that I love Ren (their uniqueness, talent, and morals just to name a few). She was only 11 when she wrote this song. It’s funny that you mentioned “Frozen”, she actually sang “Into the Unknown” on the Frozen 2 soundtrack! I really hope you check out more frim Aurora - specifically “it happened quiet” live at the Current, and “Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1)” from the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert
I’m so happy that you’ve found Aurora. She really is a one of a kind artist. Her live performances are breathtaking. I recommend “Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1)” from the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize concert and “I Went Too Far” from the Honda Stage for your next reactions. I hope you go down the Aurora rabbit hole because it’s a fantastic place to be and you’ll start to wonder how you never had Aurora in your life before now.
Now that I've watched the reaction, it's time for a few recommendations. She has good music videos, but she crushes her live performances. Here are a few good ones to check out: -Murder Song (5,4,3,2,1) at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert -Infections of a Different Kind at HAIK -It Happened Quiet at The Current -Through the Eyes of a Child at Nidarosdomen -All is Soft Inside on KEXP (the one with the KEXP banner in the background of the thumbnail)
5th element 😊 And yes she actually sang in Frozen. I think she inspired Billie Eilish to become an artist with this song. You should absolutely check out more of Aurora ❤
My youngest daughter's name is Aurora and we have all this beautiful artists songs banging in the car. Amazing for girls to listen to beautiful songs that are positive and creative. Thanks for reacting I love this song :) I'm a hip hop head but have adapted songs for young ears to listen too.
I love Aurora, she's such an sweet soul. I went to one of her concerts 2022 in Amsterdam and it was magical. Would love to see more reactions to her. Maybe one of these: - Lucky (Live At Nidarosdomen) - Queendom - The Seed (Music video or/and HAIK Live Version)
AURORA is from norway she is not just a AMAZING out of this world good singer she is also an amazing human being with good values, she is unique and has so much passion in everything she does. And that is what is different from her and other artists. When she makes music she has something to say or tell us, her songs are never meaningless like almost every artist do.. that they have been out all night and fucking ect. But her biggest passion and inspiration is mother nature. She does what she can for our planet earth and she has let her fans be a part of it, which I think is amazing. Her songs makes us not forget our planet and wakes up feelings about the clima crisis and it creats sympathy and love for our planet. She also takes action in what she preach about, everytime we buy something of her brand she plants a tree in south America. I have now planted 2 trees and It makes me feel good 💓 The way she speaks and her mind is out of this world. You should see the documentary "once aurora" that shows the struggle in the beggining of her career as a teenager (goes all the way down to 2016 I think) and you can see her incredible artistic mind while creating music, she write all of her songs mostly alone and are also a producer. The "HAIK documentary" shows her love and passion for her fans and her free spirit. everyone should get to know Aurora she really can change the world with her words and mind🥰And be aware of her lyrics they ALWAYS has a meaning behind them and is so poetic. I really really recommend youto check out her live stuff.. she is so good live it's insane... you could check out auroras concert at UMA cop26, or her Haik concert.
Aurora does a better job of embodying the emotional content of her story songs in performance than anyone I can think of. 'Caught in a trance' while watching her is far too common. Thanks for the reaction. I hope you explore more of her catalog. Original videos and live performances - there is a lot to enjoy.
Dude, she's a free spirit, and expresses it beautifully. Great live performer, made more so because she enjoys changing up her live arrangements from studio versions. Her lyricism is often metaphorical and consistently thought provoking. She does some great covers, too. From Leonard Cohen to Ariana Grande, The Beatles to Boney M, Harry Styles to David Bowie, Imagine Dragons to Massive Attack, and she makes those songs her own, every time. Crazy talented artist. Hope you pay her a visit again. If you do, Enjoy.
I'm gonna go ahead and assume you don't know very much David Bowie but she does an amazing cover of life on Mars, Very Haunting❤😮

Watching the live performances Runaway and Murder 5,4,3,2,1 from her 2015 performances at the Nobel Peace Prize concert should be top priority. 😆And "It happened quiet" live at The Current.
Like others have already said below... Nobel Peace Prize Live from 2015. It will f*@k you up! I would also recommend 'it happened quiet (live at the current)' as an excellent example of her art. Then it's a deep dive from there... live is the thing though.
I’ll recommend you react to at least three more songs, in this order: “It Happened Quiet” (she’s singing in a studio), “The Seed,” (music video), and “Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1” live at Nobel. Pure magic and goosebumps.
Glad you finally found Aurora. You must do The Seed next. She and Ren are the two artists who are changing the world for the better. Hopefully they will work together some day! You have heard her before as the lilting voice in Frozen 2.
This is really weird but I'd like to thank you for this comment. You mentioned Ren, and I had never heard of him. Got curious and checked him out when I read this, and I honestly have never found an artist that impacted me more, in such a positive way. THANK YOU for leaving this comment. It made my life immeasurably better.
@Eleonoor If all I do in life is lead a few people to extraordinary and moving art, I can die a happy man. Very glad you found something that touched you, through my suggestion.
Please react to the LIVE version of this song at the 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert....it's magical ...also please react to her song QUEENDOM... The official music video.
She does somber really well. I highly recommend Murder Song, but you might want to do a more upbeat song of hers like Queendom or Cure for Me. As a note, she was the mysterious singing voice that Elsa follows into the wilderness in Frozen 2.
Sooo, you are about to fall into another rabbithole! She has a tonn of content , and apart from the ones already suggested you should lisen to the seed it’s such a beautiful video!
god thanks for this reaction honestly, i used to listen to her a lot, its been years since i have and now its like its my first time listening to her again. so beautiful
As amazing as this song is, it is exponentially greater when performed live. She is an amazing artist and really gives her all in her performances. Its like she is teleported back to the moment the emotion was put to paper as soon as the song starts. Her interviews are funny too.
This artist is well worth your time for sure! That connection you made with her you'll find in all her music. Her live performances are the way to go as she embodies each song she sings. Try her live performance of Murder Song from the Nobel Prize concert and you'll see what I mean!! Great reaction and hope to see more Aurora. She really is on a whole different level....
Yes bro!!! Not sure if you remember but a while ago I mentioned to you in a stream to react to Aurora, so stoked you decided to check her out. You gotta react to her live performances man, I'm a rap guy myself but there's just something about Aurora's live stuff that hits different like nothing I've ever experienced before. Anyway keep doing your thing bro, you're a legend 🤝 edit - if you're looking for suggestions for live performances here's some of her best ones: Radioactive - Aurora Live Cover (the radio station gave her an hour to put this together & it's insane), Lucky (Live at Nidarosdomen), Through the Eyes of a Child (Live at Nidarosdomen), Runaway (Nobel Peace Prize concert), Murder Song (Nobel Peace Prize concert), It Happened Quiet (Live at the Current), Warrior (Haik Concert), The Seed (Haik Concert), Life on Mars (Aurora Live Cover), God is a Woman (Aurora Live Cover)
@@BlackPegasusRaps Great to hear brother, looking forward to it! Hoping to see some live performance reactions sometime soon. Super curious to see what you think of her live
She is SUPER awesome live! I am almost 50 and quite going to concerts bc the last one in my early 20s (Alannis Morrisette) showed me that anyone can sound good with auto tune and stuff and not so great in person. But Aurora sounds just as great live even rubbing around, jumping and dancing. And she is just as lovely, sweet and charming when we met her! You definitely need to check out more of her stuff!! Her videos are art!
I've been waiting for you to react to Aurora! I discovered her last year and she immediately became one of my favorite artists. You and I are the same generation and we had the same reaction to her: just mesmerized. You really can't go wrong with any of her other videos, and her live work is amazingly good.
As a little girl she spent a lot of time in the forest with the animals day and night and has always been special. She was terrified of performing at first but wanted to share her music and thoughts. Contrast this performance with Cure For Me, her most upbeat song I think. But as always with a serious message. It’s a protest against conversion therapy practiced in some countries to “cure” homosexuality. She’s bisexual. Her song Queendom is about inclusion and love for everyone. In the introduction to her song Heathens at Rough Trade East, London, she dedicates it to “the Mother who takes care of the people who aren’t welcome in heaven.” She’s a serious/fun quirky forest fairy angel and the world loves her. Well, most of the world. Unlike the hate-motivated extremist. Good reaction guy.😊
